The Office (2019)
Some comedy setups are inherently dependent upon character affinity
First of all, this show is not for the impatient viewer. It's a show that hinges upon character buildup. So naturally you need time before you start loving it. Same was true with the US version. In my opinion both US version and this one brilliant. The script is rock solid and pre-composed so it all comes down to the actors and delivery. While some characters definitely have a scope of improvement, some have done a much better job than the US counterparts, specially the side characters.
If you haven't seen the US version you are in for a treat, and even if you have, go for it, you will still enjoy the ride.
Amal (2007)
A breathtaking character
I could tell from the 5th scene that the acting is absolutely phenomenal and I knew no matter what the story is going to be like, I will absolutely enjoy this film. And that's what happened. A rare gem of a movie that only comes about extremely infrequently. Amal had such undeniable class, it will leave you marveling at the character.
Kabir Singh (2019)
Extremely basic
Kabir Singh is a college goon who forces a girl into hanging out with him, decides who her friends will be and how the world around her must interact with her.
This movie is one breath away from women harassment, glamorized by the Indian media and the public is eating it up with popcorns.
The movie neither has substance, nor the story. While I write this, I'm feeling disgusted and annoyed.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Terribly painful
I honestly don't understand what people liked in this movie. There was too much inspiration from a third class chick flick, with completely useless emotional scenes from super heros who don't really inspire any emotions. Acting and dialogs were also terribly executed. The movie could have easily be completed in half an hour without losing any content.
La casa de papel (2017)
Meh
Interesting plot and some good acting but I have to say the show writers knew how to dramatize, and in order to achieve that dramatic effect they threw logic under the bus on many different occasions. Several self contradictory plot holes can be found.
The show is still gripping in the sense the overall plot is pretty great and the actors have done well.
But the biggest flaw in the show that i wanted to mention was Tokyo's acting. Was she supposed to be the protagonist? She was basically the character I least identified with, in fact i found her deeply annoying (the character and the acting).
In the end, season 1 was really good. 9/10. season 2 was a drag, almost as if the show writers made the show with the intent of "stalling time".
Saw VI (2009)
Lame lame lame
*possible spoilers*(although I recommend reading the review to save some time).
At the end of the movie, its just a psychopath justifying why he kills people.
Extremely ludicrous how Jigsaw takes a higher stand by killing people in order to make a point, i.e. how the insurance agent chooses to kill people. You see the crazyness??
Completely non-sensical waste of time. Some people may enjoy/humour the gore in the movie, some may be afraid of it. But I for some reason always fail to understand, us humans, the most intelligent species God intended, how can we like something so inconspicuously illogical drama.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Whats all the buzz about?
Come on Nolan ! I expected much more out of you. The batman in this movie is not coherent to the batman in the previous two, and specially the cartoon I grew up watching. As an example the batman in this movie *Spoilers ahead* gets beaten down in a fist fight with Bane. And later beats Bane, again in a fist showdown. Not the batman i know. The batman we grew up watching could take down the evil wonder-women without laying a hand on her. Batman is known for his super smart brain and his super awesome gadgets. I am sorry but this movie was disappointing.
On a different note, the movie has tons of holes and devise plots. It just became silly after a while. Police officers trapped in the sewers but not even taking uniforms off(Gotham has some sh!t a$$ dedicated cops), and ready to fight all inspired on release(not a bit tired). USA, one of the strongest freaking country in the world believing a thug Bane on his whole stupid trigger with one of the citizen's monologue. No help for its greatest cities? Actually blocking it out? Just like that? Not even a small god damn negotiation? Might as well be pulling the triggers themselves.
Moreover, Bane's speeches were unbearably annoying. And incomparable to Joker in any dimension. I mean he is reading out Gordon's story on Harvey Dent, in his slow supposedly "scary" voice, and the people of Gotham are supposed to believe him? Just because he is reading a piece of paper, well that proves its veracity.
I understood why Ra's Al Ghul wanted to destroy Gotham. That made sense. Ra's Al Ghul wanted to bring down all the filth in Gotham. Because in those times, Gotham was one of the dirties cities known to men. Ra's Al Ghul thought he would rid the world of evil by bringing down this god forsaken place. His daughter, on the other hand, just wanted to "avenge" him. In a time of peace, she wanted to bring chaos back, the same chaos Ra's Al Ghul fought against (in his own eyes). Nothing annoys me more than a purposeless villain.
How did Bruce travel from god knows where in the middle east to Gotham, and then actually snuck back in the city. If this was Batman begins, or The dark Knight, or the cartoons, I would answer the question myself. Because he is BATMAN ! But no, not for this one.
I have to say the movie had some moments of its own, but overall a big let down. Just an average action movie.
