I loved this movie when it was first on, and watched it many times. Even though the subject matter is disturbing and tragic(spoiler yet has a happy ending) I found it to be so powerful and memorable. I ended up taping the movie. However, I would later end up misplacing the tape it was on. I just purchased the DVD from Amazon and I cannot wait to watch if again. Arliss Howard is a creepy Parnell, and both Luke Edwards and Corin Nebic are excellent as the 7 year old and 14 year old Steven. The rest of the cast is excellent as well. The worst part is knowing the aftermath; both Steven and Timmy died tragic deaths at such young ages, and Parnell never really paid for his heinous crimes. I'm glad he died in prison, but he should have originally been given live in prison for his crimes, and not only five years. And then there's the tragic story of Steven's older brother Cary who became a killer. So, even after cheering at the end of the movie, knowing that later on, so much tragedy occurred with this family and Timmy, it just breaks my heart!
