Is There Anybody Out There? (2023)
I'm sorry
I was expecting a great documentary, but this was not it. The ambiguous positioning of a mirror at the dancing scene was already suspicious, but I had to turn it off at the bathroom selfie video. It's hard to see how these self-recorded videos qualify for a proper documentary, and showing boobs through the reflection of the bath tub just suggests the idea that this "documentary" is trying to prove something rather than giving an insight. It's just wrong when women think that nudity is the way to prove their greatness. It was disappointing and that was the moment I decided to turn it off. Hope the next one will be better.
2067 (2020)
great example
Great example of how some people should not be allowed of casting, directing, or screenwriting.
In all those domains mentioned above, this particular movie managed to fail. A rare occurrence.
I truly hope that the individuals who were responsible of casting, screenwriting and directing can self reflect and search for a different career as their current one is clearly not viable.
Thank you for reading and feel free to upvote it. The more upvote the more awareness we raise towards incompetent people, whose actions causes not only loss in revenue but also waste viewers' time therefore the movie they create is completely pointless.
Im Westen nichts Neues (2022)
The music...
It could have been a 6 or 8, but the music... the music was really beyond comprehension. More specifically it was below standard. The composer really made sure not to elevate the overall quality of the the production, which is sad. It is really time for Volker Bertelmann to retire once and for all! I also wonder who's idea was to have the english voice over with British accent. I mean sure there are german actors who speak english, and can also do voice over roles, right? Overall it could have been a great movie but the aspects above that got overlooked does not warrant anything better than a 4.
The Sandman (2022)
Becomes a disappointment after episode 5
I honestly thought it was brilliant until episode 6 and the appearance of Rose Walker. Her acting is so terrible that it makes me wonder if she was trying to manifest some kind of personality disorder there. The way she talks is irritating as hell. I would have given this show a 9 or a 10 but this enormous mistake in casting unfortunately brought the whole production down. I wish there was someone else for this role instead, someone who could have been just as unique as all the others. This was a major let down :(
6 Tales of Sin (2019)
Scoring should be in minus range
Why oh why do things like this exist?
It is a nice and compact presentation of all the mistakes you can do in filmmaking, though very concentrated. Painfully. Bad. In all aspects.
Web of Make Believe: Death, Lies and the Internet: I'm Not a Nazi (2022)
What the hell?
You have to be below average IQ to join up such a movement without knowing the consequences. The "survivor" does not seem intellectually disabled, therefore she knew exactly what she was facing. However, while true regret was hard to detect due to the lack of tears but acting like crying, the mere idea coming from the "survivor" that she was a victim is beyond comprehension. Activists joining up movements like these dont get to play the victim card. We live in a very informative era, where people know what these movements are about. Her narcissism is beyond comprehension, calling herself a victim while she was a more than active activist, understanding and practising the principals of the movement. What the hell!
Red Notice (2021)
Sheeran, really?
I was gonna give this movie a 9 but then Ed Sheeran appeared... Then it got even worse when he referenced Game of Thrones. This was a very unprofessional addition. Ed Sheeran does not belong to any movie, and directors who are unable to understand that can only be categorised as amateurs because it's the cheapest move they can pull off.
Papillon (2017)
Poor choices
Let's be honest, without Rami Malek the ratings would be way lower. The only good thing about this remake was his facial expressions. Unfortunately the same does not apply to Charlie Hunnam.
While the director was desperately trying to capture the atmosphere of the original movie, the poor lighting effects just to make it flat so it gives a feel of an old movie was a really bad approach. ***SPOILER ALERT*** Also, instead of spending precious frames on Charlie Hunnam standing in the sea (with the same and seemingly the only facial expression he can produce) flashing seconds of the storm for example would have been a better path to go down...
Overall a huge disappointment and lack of expertise on the director's part, and the only thing that saved this movie was Rami Malek.
The Outsider (2020)
What a waste of time
This is worse than Walking Dead.
I thought long and still close ups of dialogues were gone for good, and they were part of history finally. Unfortunately this mini series brought them back, and shame on the directors because even the overuse of highlighter on Holly's lips couldn't make them interesting. However it was very interesting to see how they portrayed the 'savant' character with out of place stuff, such as fancy hair, fake nails, and too much make-up. Instead of making this character credible, the directors made it rather ridiculous. Shame.
