Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
Season 1, Episode 10

Interesting end to the amazing Dexter
17 January 2022
I'm torn on this one. I personally liked this ending better than the original series. At least there is closure.

I never liked Harrison. Not at all. And the ending made me dislike him more.

I preferred two final endings:

If he was going to be killed off I would have preferred that Angela did it. That would be far more understandable and just. Like a final hug and a pistol to the heart. Putting closure to a relationship and to a serial killer.

But..... if he lived:

He runs again, this time caught by the FBI or some special government agency. Then they hire him to take care of their dirty work. More or less a paid assassin.

He obviously had issues. But he did cleanse the world of bad guys that beat the system. I would support that. Yes, there was collateral damage but the greater good was achieved.

It's only a tv show but in real life I would have let him walk.

A very memorable character and a great overall series. This one will be missed.

A movie with 2 halves
29 March 2020
First off, if you haven't read the book, please do. It is one of my favorites of all time. Far more captivating and detailed than the movie.

With that said....

After the fiasco of Murder in the Orient Express I had little hopes for this movie. I was going to turn it off after the first 20 minutes..... it was slow, boring, and just blew away all of the initial character development that the book had......I decided to keep watching.

The first half of the book is boring and slow. I really didn't care for Betty Davis or Angela Landsbury much. The rest of the characters were "ok". Hercule was fine and you needed to pay close attention to everything that he said if you were going to solve this one.

I am of firm belief that this movie, shot in black and white, would have been far far better. This type of movie is done best that way. Color added nothing.

The second half of the movie was far better. We had action and drama. Your head started spinning trying to solve this one.

The ending, though with a spin from the book, was great. I really enjoyed it. Well done.

If you like a good "who done it" this movie is a good place to begin. But read the book and get the entire story.

Could have been much better but it was ok as made.

This thing was a bore fest indeed
13 March 2020
First off, I am a great fan of Agatha Christie and have read many of her books....including this one.

And then there were none by Rene Claire is one of my favorite movies.

The book was very good. This movie sucked.

I could not even understand the detective most of the time. The actors were boring to say the least. And Ingrid Bergman winning an academy award for her 6 minutes of screen time. Are you kidding me!!!

I'm sorry I will never get my time back from watching this but at least I can say I did. Man, this one was barely tolerable.

I cannot believe all the positive reviews. Oh well, to each his own. Good luck with this one.

The movie is WAY better than the book!!
31 January 2020
I just finished reading the book and I can say it is 90% different than the movie. There are obviously similarities and all that but the book is far darker, far more evil, and for the most part, only has 2 people in it. This book was intense at times and boring at times. The movie was never boring.

I wish they had made the movie like the book but man, that would have been one sick and deranged movie.

The book was great and the movie was great. But they are two totally different entities.

Creature of No Lagoon!
26 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This movie sucked.

Acting was for the most part boring and voiceless. For most of the movie you would swear it was a silent film.

Other than the last 20 minutes or so it was super slow and super boring.

I gotta be honest here, not much positive to say. The movie set was a beach. It was boring. The main actor was boring. Her friends were boring. And the monster was boring. This really played out as a cheap high school film project shot in 2-days with a cheap video camera. I'm really surprised it was made. Maybe if it was shot in black and white and released as a B film in the 50's. But it's not the 50's.

Kind of a copy of the timeless "Creature from the Black Lagoon" but not even close in quality.

Man, this one was a stinker....I checked 6 times to see how much time was left.

Right up there with Circle.....

Very sad and wasted episode
4 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I had only seen this episode once, long ago.. it left me with a bad feeling inside. So I decided to watch it again and I now know why I had these feelings.

This episode was ridiculous in my opinion and just way out of control.

Far too many characters and beings. At what point is it way over the top. Here it is.

The first hour and a half was boring and lacked anything to draw you in. The last 30 minutes was exciting and intense, but ruined the series for me and when it ended I was pissed.

Anakin was destroyed by the writing. He died a cruel and wasted death.

In Phantom we had this cute little boy that only helped people. He was good, very good. He gave freely and expected nothing in return.

In this pathetic episode he was set-up by the Jedi's to fail. At every step they shut him down. At every turn they smashed his hopes. Samual L Jackson's character clearly hated Anakin. It was blatant. I was happy to see him die. I wish he was not even in the series.

I felt for Anakin at every step. And the final battle was pathetic and took away from all the previous episodes. Obiwan should have helped Anakin or killed him. Leaving him as he did was heartless and cruel. I hated this part with a passion. Warriors battle each other, they don't torture each other and walk away. This was very very poor.

I loved Obiwan in all the movies but the writers made him just as bad as anyone in the end.

The highest tech they had back then was Obiwan riding on a lizards back chasing a human robot on a high tech wheel machine. Seriously??? WTF.

The droid army was a joke. A Jedi could wipe out hundreds by themselves with nothing but a light saber??? Ridiculous.

My complaints are long. The characters were stupid for the most part. Many of the evil leaders were ridiculous aliens that were clueless and cowards. Yet a Jedi or two could infiltrate them and wipe them out easily. Far too unrealistic.

And in the final battle Anakin and Obiwan are riding in melting steel on a lava flow??? Did they not have a clue about the amount of heat that was there? The toxic gases? Both would have melted in seconds. Poof! Gone. But not in this episode.

I just thought this entire episode was childish and the end just plain cruel to its star.

I will never watch it again, or any Star Wars episode for that manner. It's ran it's course in my life and now is just a poor excuse to make money.

What started out as an epic adventure and something new in Hollywood for once turned back to its pathetic roots and nothing but a madman writing a ridiculous script to make more money for his franchise.

Rest In Peace Anakin. Your we're screwed.

This movie is a dud
13 November 2019
Hmmmm..... not much to say. It sucked. Stupid and pointless. Slow and boring. Acting is sub-par but I really don't care about acting if I like the movie. Like I said... sub-par.

This was a true waste of time.

I absolutely LOVE this movie

My favorite romantic comedy. The one-liners are excellent and just overall it's a great movie to me.

I could care less about any flaws or poor this or poor that. Criticize the movie all you want, I love it.

It's a happy movie and makes you feel good about yourself.

I really liked this one.
26 October 2019
I thought this movie was very well done and kept my attention throughout.

I don't care what it compares to or this and that.

I watch movies to just enjoy the movie, not some historical review of past movies.

The acting was good, the story was good, and it kept me thinking "what's next".

Well done.

Predictable my ass. I had 3 possible endings and none of them happened.

The movie starts out very slow then heats up fast.

It was a solid mind game for the 2nd half of the movie and didn't stop till the end.

Eerie....creepy....intense.

I really liked it. Well worth the time and I would watch it again.

One of my favorite Chan's...
4 July 2019
I loved this episode and watch it at least once a month.

It was darker than most and had a great story. Missing was son Lee but that's ok, Charlie did perfectly fine without him.

Definitely Top 5 in my book of Charlie Chan movies.

I've watched 5 episodes thus far. I'm not a quitter so I will follow it until it's cancelled.

Somewhere down the line I hope it picks up or at least has some reason or point to it.

Insanity at is best
4 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was entertaining. As a comedy I would rate it higher but hey, it's not supposed to be a comedy. I am basing my review on the facts that it's supposed to be a truthful documentary.

A few highlights.

Marilyn Monroe was murdered because she knew about a secret government agency that knew all about aliens and their spacecraft.

The "people in the know" are going to use "alien technology" to themselves attack earth. This solely used as a scare tactic to hide their real agenda.

We have people we can trust helping us find the truth....

Hillary Clinton Bill Clinton Barack Obama

Hysterical stuff there!!! Trust me, trust me.... LOL

One cubic yard of alien fuel can boil the oceans.

This guy is a super fraud. A narcissistic delusional creep.

He is very funny though. Is crocodile tears were touching. LMAO!!!

"They won't believe me"... ya think.

Pretty pathetic that he has followers. But hell, people are allowed to believe what they want to believe.

Take my advise, don't drink the koolaide.

Have fun kids 😃😃

Pointless
30 June 2019
Hey, I like conspiracy as much as the next guy but seriously...

Discussing Bob Lazar is like debating religion. The believers say he says it so it's true. The non-believers want facts.

There are no real facts. Bob is a likeable narcissist with a story.

I have studied this for years and it's ALWAYS the same. No facts, no proof.

We could talk forever about this but it's pointless. It's arguing for the sake of arguing.

People believe a man that can't ever show any proof of his supposed education. And at MIT no less.

The show was interesting at times, if you want to watch a more interesting show get your hands on the 60's Sci-Fi "The Invaders"... Rob Lazar is the modern day David Vincent... LOL

But seriously, until the man shows proof he's a fraud in my mind. A phony. And the show did not help his cause.

How long did the world believe Lance Armstrong until he came clean.

Bob, it's time to come clean. Maybe sign a book contract for your story.

Lame show...sorry.

Great series for ALL the wrong reasons!
28 June 2019
Sorry if my review gets a little critical but here I go.

What I loved about the series is showing the mountain and the routes. The weather, and what it takes to climb from a mountaineering perspective.

Which is what I am.

I can assure you that the vast majority of paid clients could NEVER reach the summit on their own. But up they go because it's no longer a climb nor an expedition.

You have the real climbers, the heroes, doing all the technical work and turning this mountain into a multi-day hike. That's all it is. No skills required. It's a high altitude hike. Get lucky with your health and objective weather hazards and you are good to go. You walk, that's all you do.

The logjams of people is so annoying and ruins it for me. Yes, I like the personalities of a few (Tim) but I watch this series for the mountain.

Regarding all the "death" talk. That is nothing but media hype. Yes people die, but not even remotely at the rate they say. It's quite safe (relatively speaking) and very very few die in relation to those that try and those that make it.

Any mountain requires respect. Disrespect the mountain and you can die. The media dwells on Everest Death Rates. Get over it.

You have a mountain that is 29,035 feet tall encased in rock/snow/ice. You know that going in. You know the risks. You choose to do it.

More people have died in the Sierra/Cascades/Rockies/Alaska than all the 8000 meter peaks combined. Yet we don't hear about that. Why? It's not Everest and there is no dramatic media attention drawn to it.

But now they allow people with money to buy their way to the top....it's crazy.

Other than getting to the highest point on the planet what is really the point.

When Everest becomes old hat, what's next? K2? Nope, because that requires skill.

Great photography. I loved it. I also now have a far greater appreciation for the Sherpa's that make it all possible. They are mountaineers, the real mountain climbers.... not a bunch of wannabes with excess cash that can walk their way to the summit.

The professional guides and sherpas are the heroes and the ones that put their life on the line so people can walk to the top.

Great series.

The best part of the movie, and I truly mean it, is that it ended.

The 10's must be zombie lovers.

The 1's actually went to the movie theatre.

Well, kinda sad I thought
14 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I gave it a shot, nothing to lose and I was bored.

The movie to me was sad. It reminded me of a religious cult movie.

Facts don't matter. Science don't matter. Family does not matter.

All that matters is believing in what you believe in.

It's pointless to argue or even disagree.

This is less a movie review then a personal opinion as they presented it to me in this movie.

I'm not a Michael Moore fan but at least his movies have moments that make you think.

Not here.

I was hoping to see "their" facts yet none were presented.

I was hoping to see "their" counterpunches to science yet that never happened.

I am not a flat earth believer. Not even close. But I like to see other opinions on controversial subjects.

Here, it just made me feel bad about some facets of our society.

Don't drink the koolaid.

It's all in my mind!
27 January 2019
I watched this movie 3-times. So I now feel good with what I'm about to write.

This movie can really only be viewed from 2 different perspectives:

It's mostly real and in that regard is not really a good movie. Too many open ends, too much fantasy, and no real answers to anything.

Or....

It's all in his head.

I believe the latter. None of it is real and based on that premise it's a great movie.

I believe we have a young man that was emotionally tormented to the point of breaking.

The movie represents the demons he is trying to rid himself of to restore whatever sanity he has left.

Every character in the movie represents one of his "demons".

Mom Dad Brother Girlfriend Authority (parole officer)

At an early age he and his brother killed a girl. The brother went to prison and Tom went to the loony bin.

The movie represents things as they are happening in his mind. He never left the institute. He is living his reality in his mind. He is attempting to restore sanity to his insane life. At the end he did just that.

I could go into great depth but this is my belief take on the movie.

Clearly the ratings are wrong but I squared it all up. LOL
1 November 2018
I have reviewed 100's of movies and no movie, not even the greatest classics of all time have as many 10'a as this spoof does. If you eliminated the 1's and 10's there would not be many reviews whatsoever. I truly believe that most of these reviews, just as all of Zak's work, are staged. He is clearly a master and gets the very most out of nothing.

Believer or not, from a theatrical perspective this movie sucks.

Believer or not, the acting does not even qualify as a acting, it's that bad.

Believer or not, this is not a documentary. It is one persons adaptation of events real or unreal.

Believer or not, this barely qualifies as a "B" movie.

Zak is a dramatic master that makes his career convincing his viewers that the world they live in is not what they think it is. He is one of these best.

Now, with all that said. I love Ghost Advebtures. I love Zak and Aaron. I am NOT a believer and I am NOT a disbeliever. I'm just taking in information and Zak presents it the best of them all.

This movie... it sucked, was boring, and really was just a "directors cut" of Ghost Adventures. But too long for me.

I would rate it a 1 based on its movie qualities. I would rate it a 1 for its documentary attributes. I would rate it a 1 for overall entertainment...the reason I watch movies. But, I would rate it a 10 for the effect it has on Zak's fans.

Boy oh boy.....if he offers you a cup of koolaid be careful. LOL. Just kidding Zak.

Final rating.....the point of this review.

1 or 10..... hmmmmm.....

I give it 13 points out of 40.... what's that a 3???

But it really sucks, yet the suck is so effective.

I'm going with 1

All depends what you like really
5 August 2018
If you love a tv series with the following:

*graphic sex *graphic drug use *horrible treatment of women *mentally ill people *seriously messed up things with her sister *graphic murder *and lots of the above...

You will love this series.

Me personally, though I like how they made Harry seem like a damaged Columbo, it was not my cup of tea.

And yes, I watched every second of the 1st 8 episodes on Netflix.

I think it's sad that these kind of series are even on tv. I am no extremist nor am I a religious person. I just thought this series, much like the last few American Horror Story series, we so over the top. Unlike AHS, at least this series, thus far, doesn't have a left agenda. I say so far....because it likely will

What else...

It's S L O W.... many times I was saying to myself "talk...do something"....

I love Bill Pullman but seriously, at times you would swear he's brain dead.

Jessica Biel acted very well. I guess one positive in watching this drudge fest was reading her bio. I loved how she was happy her parents did not name her Snowmo Biel. I laughed for days on that one. But in this series there is no laughing. She did a good job, very good.

I watched it all, I liked the ending.....though it took forever to get there, and that's about it.

I feel they could have eliminated at least 3 episodes and accomplished more with better writing. Much of the graphic stuff was just added for that extra WOW effect. But it was pointless and took away from the series.

Everybody has an opinion, this is mine.

Seriously worst ever!
29 April 2018
I do not write many reviews because I feel movies are personal, not technical. I love many movies that have gotten horrible reviews and I dislike many that have gotten great reviews. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But this movie takes the prize.

It's pointless.

It's stupid.

There is nothing to like about it. I only watched it because one of my favorite actresses was in it. Why was she in it??? Who knows, it surely wasn't to pad her resume.

I kept hoping something cool would happen or some awesome/shocking twist at the end.

Nope...neither.

Horrible movie. Waste of time. Garbage.

I'm sure this review will make many watch it... hey, I do it myself.

So....enjoy. LOL
