Everyday Italian (2003)
Great Show!
Even though she comes from a famous family, Giada De Laurentiis does a great job at showing us how to make delicious Italian dishes. I've tried a many a great recipes, and have never been let down. Sure, there are some that are better than others, I'll admit, but not one has been bad.
If your open to new experiences and your tired of fixing the same OL' thing for dinner each night go onto her site on Food Network and get the recipes. Honestly, there really isn't one I could pick to share w/ everyone its that good. And yes, some take a little longer than I would like, but the reward is greater in the end. So go check it out. Because my review doesn't do the show justice.
That's So Raven (2003)
Good show for just about everyone.
Sure, this show isn't the BEST show, I credit it for it actually having original stuff and actually making sure that it isn't boring, but trust me, you won't be let down when it really wants to try.
While this show is geared more toward adolescent girls or even the boys, I have watched it (I'm in my late teens). I think when its at its hardest, the jokes are original, good, and the actors deliver them w/ good timing no questions asked. Especially Annelise Van der Pol. Of all of them, she has the BEST comic timing. I really think she has the potential for being a big actress one day.
But at its worst, well, it isn't exactly the best of shows. It can be slow, tiring, and using the same thing they might've used the previous week. Which is sad, because this is one of the few shows that has potential at actually being good and WITTY.
If you wanna take a chance at something that could go either way, I totally recommend it. When a good episode comes on, I promise you won't be let down. Just come in w/ an open mind.
The Village (2004)
Great Movie... Great Commentary On Our Society...
I feel that this film reflects that of our society. We live in a world filled with suffering, hatred, violence, and the like that it is easy to wonder if we will ever get through this whole ordeal alive and well. With the conflicts with the Middle East and Africa are a prime example. What will happen if our children grow up in a world filled with turmoil and pain everyday for years. I understand that war and conflict have happened all throughout history and that it most likely, will keep happening. It will never change.
The fact that the Elders wanted to form their own town set in a simpler time (1800's) where they could choose what era/century they lived in is quite remarkable. The Elders had one thing in common. Death. All of them had a loved one that died in a horrible way. One's sister was raped and murdered and left in an alley. Another's father had been stabbed by his business partner. They felt that living in such a world with children wasn't suitable. They were tired of this world in which people killed and hated because of nothing.
That indeed is what happens everyday in our world. People die, people get raped, people get HIV/AIDS. And what to others do? They look away. I suppose that is what the Elders did in a sense. They wanted to get away from this nonsense. They fear what happens in the world around them. And who wouldn't? Everyday, we take a chance to go out and go places. We take a chance on going to the movie theaters, a restaurant, a park. We as a society choose to go out and risk our lives. We do not know what the day holds for us. If we did then we would be locked in our houses everyday, afraid to go out.
I feel that this movie is a true reflection of our society. We need to look around and find what innocence is left in the world. We need to teach the nest generation to love and not hate. If we did, the world would be a better place. We would not breed such hate towards one another. And if we can do that, well, let's just hope that we can.

Great. Simple Movie...
This would definitely be one of the BEST movies I saw in 2004 let alone my ENTIRE life!! Just everything about it I thought was great. I loved how the colors changed with each change of the story. That was smart. I love how each color represented something different and new.
Also, one of the best scenes, I think, would have to be the forest scene. Simply the best in any movie that I have seen. The color change with the leaves. Superb!! I could go on and on about the colors and what not, but I'll save that for people who actually want to hear it. Just see the film if you haven't already. It's a great movie to introduce you to something different than the typical U.S. fair.
Hope you enjoy it!!
