The Wilds (2020)
OK, yes, basically I liked it, but here are some thoughts
It def got better as it went on, so don't give up after ep. 1. The song picks were especially good. Good basic premise. Dot & Martha were well done. Here's my thoughts on what was wrong: Nora as a child was 'normal' yet she was portrayed as pretty much autistic, in particular her halting speech - unless it didn't need to be for particular scenes. Fatin was great, but I had trouble seeing her as 17. Since they were for only a 3 day weekend, there were waaay too many clothes for them. And, who gets rescued and then locked up & doesn't throw a fit 24/7? I am looking forward for the next stories.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020)
Awful
So sorry. This is the worst acting ever, especially the female army-type. And no fault of hers, but the lead actresses' hair looks really fake.
After Earth (2013)
Well, it looked good...
I like the way it looked, & I thought the CG was a lot better than most reviews. But. Other than that, the acting all around is horrible, the accents are awful, the characters themselves are poorly written, &, why did the bird die, & how come he had a super suit yet NO GLOVES.
Punisher: War Zone (2008)
I just get past the bad accents!
Sorry. It just distracted me from the movie, which probably wasn't too bad
IO (2019)
It's been on 5 minutes...
She's in a protective suit of some kind, and she's NOT wearing gloves. Just sayin.
Inverse (2014)
I have to say skip it.
A Crazy scientist, a Mr Smith... too slow, poor dialogue, mediocre acting.
Nightflyers (2018)
Great story, horrible acting
I thought the story was very interesting & I am a fan of some of these actors but I guess you blame the director for the flat, amateurish acting.
How It Ends (2018)
Soooo predictable, I could have written this
Couldn't get past first 1/2 hour. Everything was so obvious, all done before. Nothing original; yes, I realize it's all been done already, but at least do it in an original way. So disappointing.
Under the Skin (2013)
Well, the effects were good
If you think that's a Scottish accent, I have a bridge I'd like to see you. The book was SO much better - it was truly creepy & unsettling and this movie was neither.
Annihilation (2018)
Well, this fell apart towards the end...
So, great premise, wonderful cast. But - Jennifer Jadon Leigh couldn't have been made to look much worse, and her acting (directed?) was so flat, & her responsibilities didn't make much sense based on her character. What happened to her in the cave was soooo B movie that I nearly left. I thought no this movie was financed by the art director, special effects, CGI folks, who all did a fantastic job, so they'd have a vehicle for their work.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
What a blast!
OK, so it took me 4 years to finally see it. Great story, wonderful good & bad guys. Bradley Cooper really pulled it off - he DID have the best part - by the end of the pic, Rocket even looked like Bradley. My only problems were the Godfather-like prothestic on Lee Pace, & I love Lee Pace, and the humor was a little predictable at times, but all in all, entertaining.
