The Messengers was a Mess!
6 June 2007
It's really too bad. This movie had all the makings of a good horror flick. It starts out great, then starts to get boring. You find yourself waiting and waiting for something scary to happen. There are a few creepy scenes, but they have been done over and over again in countless other movies. A couple of jolt wanna-be scares are placed here and there, but most times fall flat.

The plot doesn't even get a chance to fall apart, it wasn't there to begin with. Simple is the key for a movie like this. If you want a creepy horror movie, stay with the creepiness. If you want a jolting screaming horror movie, stay with that. If you want some twisting turning horror movie, stay with that. Combining all those factors, with a poor story line, just doesn't work for me.

Good acting all around, but one scene when the family are driving in the SUV, the actors suddenly look as though they are all lost. It almost seemed at that point the director took the script and went to the bathroom for a couple of minutes.

All in all, could've been better.

Worst movie ever!
17 November 2005
Please, for the love of God, don't watch it. Now saying that, I know what you're thinking, it can't be that bad can it? If everyone says it as bad as they say, I have to watch it! Don't do it! It'll be like looking at a horrible accident involving little babies and a gasoline tanker! You'll be scarred for life...the image will never leave you! I could only watch a half hour of this before becoming violently sick. The acting is the worst I've ever seen, and I've seen Barbwire!!! If you do risk ripping your eyes out and rent this movie...don't say I haven't warned you! The cover and storyline are a trap!! Zombies? Satire? Shaun of the Dead was great! This movie must be the same....right? NO!! The writing = crap directing = garbage acting = there was no acting. Still not convinced? Then forever your soul will be tormented!!!

I didn't think it was too bad.

The acting wasn't award winning but I've seen a lot worse, trust me. Just watch the movie "Feeding the Masses" now that's awful! Anyway, it's just your basic horror movie,it has a couple of scares that make you jump, and the special effects were not bad at all. Ya it kinda falls apart at the end, but I think the plot is much better than that terrible movie Dark Water..Bleeeaaachh! And yes it's the old plot of, " Don't go into the old abandoned haunted hospital!" If no one went in, it would be a movie about a bunch of teenagers finding their inner beauty. Of course we want them to go into the hospital and find something horrible and hopefully we see a bunch of gore induced murdering...at least I do. I won't say what they find, but let's just say it's not the cast from E.R.

If you want to watch a creepy movie, watch this one. Again, not bad for a low budget/unknown actor kind of movie.

Excellent!

How Tarantino choose the perfect music for these movies I'll never know. What I do know is that I went out and bought the soundtracks for both movies. This is one of the best movies ( sequels ) I've ever seen! Mr. Tarantino has the best judgment on actors/actresses. I mean he picks people out who have been stereotyped, branded, whatever, to play parts in his movies and they always turn out to be fantastic! Watch these movies! These movies are perfect! You'll come out to say, " I want to watch this again!" I believe soundtracks are just as important to movies as anything is, these movies are perfectly tuned to music a they are to action! Again this movie is number one with me Tarantino has really out-done himself with this, and again....perfect movie!

Just plain bad.

Warning: Spoilers
Don't bother to watch it. I feel sorry for Casper he was an o.k. actor at one time, but this movie was the "worst movie ever!" From the horrible acting to the same shots of car chases over and over again this is one unwatchable movie. By the end of it you want everyone to die, even the good guys, and whoever wrote this movie too. You'll see the same white Cavalier and Blue K-Car in almost every chase scene. When the trucks go down the ski hill, the hill seems to never end ( as does this movie) The fat guy in the truck jumps out at the end, I was hoping he would go down with the trucks. In the movie the fat guy is worried that his truck might get scratched by trees, but prior to that the truck is ramming the other truck. Everything about this movie is bad, again, don't watch it!
