War Z Day One (2013)
Awesome Directing
I love zombie movies and came across this movie. I though I would give it a watch. Is can tell that it is a low budget film, that that is no reason to push this one aside. I though the director did a fantastic job bringing us into this world of the undead. Not a whole lot of action in this movie, but it's OK because of the great drama that it brings. The director, again, did a great job making us actually care about the people and what they are going though, which can be hard in this type of genre. It is right up there with things like the Walking Dead. I am somewhat of a movie-buff and I think you should go see it and enjoy it like I did!
Zombie Hunter (2013)
A Wild Ride!
Man, this movie was a wild-rid of a film! I love me a good zombie movie and this was a good one all-right. I was a little nervous to see this since it was from a first-time producer, but I think he did a great job! If you like Robert Rodriguez movies and the Resident Evil movies, then you will like this, since it is sort of a mix between the two types. If you don't like blood or adult material, then definitely sit this one out though. It is a "gore-fest" to say the least with lots of adult humor, horror and sex. If you are into all that or don't mind it, then go see it. It will definitely keep you attention and you and your friends will be talking about it long after.
Rushlights (2013)
Under-Rated
I thought the kids were fantastic. I really liked all their characters a lot. They did not make the best choices, but how many of us did at that age? I mean, they are just kids. So, I think they definitely came across as likable and relatable. Plus, Haley Webb is incredibly hot in this movie! She definitely brings a lot to the table in that regard. Otherwise, I thought the story was pretty exciting and it had lots of thrills! Also, all of the action and intense moments definitely kept me going, right up until the end of the movie. I would recommend this movie to action-seekers and I'll be watching it more than once for sure.
Hope Cafe (2013)
marvelous movie
From time to time, everybody could use some hope. Would you like to see a movie that will touch your spirit and remind you why life is all about being in it together? That's what a movie I just watched called Hope Café is all about. Radhaa Nilia is the director and producer of this marvelous movie. No matter where you come from, this movie is about universal values, the matters of soul and heart. Although Hope Cafe has a faith based theme, the movie's message is spiritual and non-judgmental. The story follows two characters, Jade and Hector. Jade, played by Radhaa Nilia, is a young mother struggling to survive in this tough world, and to create a new life for her daughter and herself after leaving an abusive relationship. Hector, played by Noel Gugliemi, (Bruce Almighty, Training Day, Fast and Furious) is a street hustler from L.A. looking for a way to avoid living a life full of crime and violence. These two deeply wounded souls are challenged by their past, but together they work hard to find greater meaning in life. There are many interesting characters that make Hope Café such a wonderful movie, including F. Valentino (star of Vin Diesel's: The Ropes) who plays Marco, a charming yet dangerous LA gangster. Another character I really enjoyed was Pastor Miles, played by Filipino superstar and Asian International Award winning actor Raymond Bagatsing. He brings depth of feeling to his character and a sense of calm after the storm. There is also Beatrice, played by Mindy Tiry, a grounding force in Jades life. Her wisdom and love helps Jade change and move forward. This is a well crafted film for first time female filmmaker Radhaa Nilia. Everybody makes mistakes, but if the world around us is so unforgiving, shouldn't we try to do better? Hope Cafe has a wonderful message: it is never too late for love, happiness and joy. But first, we have to take the journey of healing. This universal challenge is what this movie is all about.
13 Witches (2012)
really good and keeps your attention
If you are looking for a really good revenge, sci-fi show, this is the one to watch. It has really good story lines and definitely keeps your attention. The beautiful women in the show doesn't hurt either. If you are fans of shows like Charmed or other shows that involve supernatural beings, then definitely give this one a watch. It also has a mystery and drama aspect to it that keeps you guessing and wondering what is going on. Then you just can't help but to watch what happens next! You can definitely see that this storyline had a lot of thought put into it and leaves you wanting more. If you want a good watch and want to see a show that will keep your interest, 13 Witches is definitely worth your time.
Black Field (2009)
awesome directing and acting!
If you are looking for a really good period piece drama, this is the one to watch. It has a really good story line and definitely keeps your attention. The directing is great and the characters are so believable. If you are fans of period piece films or even some westerns, then definitely give this one a watch. It also has a mystery and drama aspect to it that keeps you guessing and wondering what is going on. Then you just can't help but to watch what happens next! Sara Canning did a fantastic job as the lead actress. You can definitely see that this storyline had a lot of thought put into it and leaves you wanting more. If you want a good watch and want to see a film that will keep your interest, Black Field is definitely worth your time.
Miss Dial (2013)
perfect date movie
If you want a good date movie for a Friday night, this one is definitely worth a watch. The funnies parts are watching Erica deal with all the customers' calls and complaints. We know this goes on and we've all probably been on the customer's end, complaining to the service representative. Its funny and romantic, the perfect example of a "romanic comedy." The writing is very clever and keeps your attention throughout the film. It has some big stars from film and TV that you will instantly recognize and some new up-and-commers. For a good movie that will make you laugh and warm your hear, definitely give this Miss Dial a try.
The Cohasset Snuff Film (2012)
fantastic horror
I read some of the other reviews online and decided to give this film a shot. I am not the biggest indie film fan, let alone a horror movie fan. All I can say is that I was so pleasantly surprised with this movie. I went into it knowing what it was about and knowing the basic plot. What I didn't know was how awesome the story, the timing and the overall atmosphere of the world that you are thrown into was. I though this was just another "found footage" movie, but it is much more than that. It has a great documentary style, with found footage mixed in. I loved how is flipped back and forth and it really drew you into everything that happens. This was a really great movie and like I said, even if you aren't really into the indie and/or horror genre, this is still definitely worth a watch.
I Think I Do (2013)
Really funny!
I Think I Do is like a really funny, adult targeted comedy. I saw the previews for this movie and thought to myself, wow this seems like a really the female geared film. By the end of watching this, I was pleasantly surprised that there was a lot good humor involved. Some of it would be considered guy humor, but actually it would probably make women laugh a lot! There is a bit chick flick element to it between the characters, but it is such a small part of the movie that I would say it's for the most part a comedy and a little bit of a romance and chick flick thrown in. I can honestly say I enjoyed the movie. I think this was a great movie for female humor, because I have long thought that comedy was dominated by male actors and I am just waiting for some women to jump in there and start paving the way. Good job on this movie!
