About me:
Derrick was born January 28, 1977 in Detroit, Michigan son of Larry and Cynthia Mullins. At age two and a half was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which consumed a good amount of his childhood. But the one thing that Derrick realized at a very young age was the ability to communicate and express himself through drawing and writing. The amount of projects began to increase: instructors, students, and his family began to take notice, undoubtedly he found his destiny. Senior year in high school Derrick attended the Media Productions class at the William D. Ford Vocational and Technical Center where John Prusak the assistant director of Michael Moores Roger and Me taught. Top honors and perfect attendance Derrick was encouraged to further educate him and to develop his skills as a film maker. In 2000, Derrick graduated from Schoolcraft Community College with Associates in Business, soon after in 2001; he attended Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts for television production. Fresh out of school the first film that Derrick worked on was The Ugly One directed by Patrick Moug where he was credited as best boy. Shortly after he worked on John Landiss Slasher, worked casting for the television show Star Search, and promoted Emmy Award Winning Director James Ronald Whitneys film Games People Play- New York. In 2003, Derrick wrote his first screen play One Day, One Life and six months later directed his first film. His second screenplay The Warrior gives a detailed encounter and description of his pain, due to cancer, that he had to come to terms with physically and mental well after going into remission. As well as, how the public reacted to him having the disease. In a difficult market like Detroit, he began to examine other avenues of the entertainment industry and promoted Dominic Dunnes show on Court TV, worked with Spirit at Super Bowl 40 in Detroit Michigan, promoted rap shows for Writer/Director/Rapper Al Nuke, and worked with Radish Creative and Comcast on commercial spots. Future plans for Derrick consist of directing three shorts that he wrote, promoting Dream Girls staring Beyounce Knowles, promoting for Chase Bank and United Airlines, writing impacting, compelling, and real screenplays, always learning and developing his craft.

Arc (2006)
Love This Film

When I saw the film at Indie Gathering I was absolutely floored, I sat in my seat absorbing all that I could. The progression of the character was a thing of desire, because it wasn't a traditional love story or good verses evil it was a well thought out script that had twisted and turns and ups and downs but it made you want to watch more and more. Peter's performance was just amazing and my hat goes off to him. It was very noticeable that he loved the character and made it his own. Thanks for the great film and I look forward to seeing of ARC and other projects that Robert has up his sleeve.
