Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (2024)
Short story in long
Heeramandi is a story of 2.5 hours. But it is dragged to 7.5 hours and made as a web series which makes audience boring.
The director Sanjay Leela Bansali has continued showing his grand filmsets and dresses, But he lost his story telling grip with this web series.
The story plot of this web series keeps changing from a murder story to a love story and then to a freedom fighting story. It does not get sticked onto one theme which confuses the audience.
Name of many of the characters are confusing. More easier and different kinds of names should have been kept to the characters, so that the confusion to audience could have been avoided.
Most of the songs are lazy songs and brings yawning on your mouth. "Tum bade Voh ho..." is the only song which attracts you because of its interesting lyrics.
The audience get tired and frustrated after watching 3 episodes and start thinking when will it complete.
Overall it is a forgettable web series.
Laapataa Ladies (2023)
Why did this movie miss to earn Rs.1000 Crore
Laapataa Ladies is a nicely depicted movie with tight screenplay. It has not even single scene which is not important to main storyline.
In recent times, most of the movies do not end properly, instead they end the movie at half stage and keeping something for the next part of the movie. Whereas Laapataa Ladies has a proper ending to the story.
It is a big wonder that this movie did not go to Rs.1000 crore club which actually is eligible for 1000 crore club by all means.
You can throw out all the big star movies and add this movie to your watchlist, as it is once in a lifetime movie to watch.
Sunflower (2021)
Never ending story
This web series has poor script
1. The director took all 8 episodes but could not end the story. At least he could have given the interim end to the story. But it stopped in between.
2. Looking at the second season of this web series, there seems to be no ending to the story.
3. The story line goes very slow.
4. The poorest part is that the police starts investigating the tender coconut wastage after 3 to 4 days of disposal done by all the other flats. There is no investigation shown on the tender coconuts purchased by other 7 flat owners who buy it on daily basis.
5. The characterization is very poor.
Lakshya (2004)
Lakshya is a pathetic movie
Lakshya is a poor quality movie because it is not based on a real life story, nor an inspired one. It is just a fictional story built upon 1999's Kargil war.
1. Considering the dialogues given to Om Puri in the movie, the director Farhan Akhtar depicted patriotism itself in a wrong way. The director did not tell straight away what has to be told in these kind of patriotic movie. The diplomatic way of movie presentation put the box office collection in backfoot that time.
2. Ladakh is very cold and low Oxygen area because of its high altitude. But director missed to show these parts also in the movie.
3. Till the end of the movie, the audiences get confused on whether it is a war movie or a romantic drama.
4. There are a lot of real story contents missing in this movie which got fulfilled in the 2021 movie "Shershah" which is actually based on the real story of Kargil war. Watch this movie to know better why "Lakshya" failed in 2004.
Animal (2023)
Alert ! Do not watch it
Animal is just a B grade movie produced by 1st grade producers.
This movie became a blockbuster just because of its glorified vulgarity, nothing else.
There are a lot of flaws in this film:
1. In the initial part of the movie/story, Ranvijay lives in the USA. This is because his family threw him out of the house because of inter-cast marriage. But when he was away from his rich father, then how could manage to have his own flight and the private airport? The big flaw from director here.
2. When Ranvijay brings his cousins from a village of Punjab, then was there no background for those cousins? Without giving any importance to their job and without thinking about their family, everybody came with Ranvijay... This ignorance about their job and family shows the ignorance of movie director who missed to portray those details.
3. In the Axe fight, there were more than 20 people who came to kill Ranvijay (hero). But each time, only one guy comes forward to hit/kill him with Axe. Since it is only one guy, in turn, the hero kills each of them individually. If the intension is really to kill Ranvijay, then all of them should have come forward together to kill him. The movie would have been completed in 1 hour, instead of stretching 3.5 hours.
4. At the end of the movie, once the hero kills the villain (Abrar) in Scotland, how could he come back to India with the same blood shredded body. It is agreed that he has his own flight, so he could come back without changing the dress also. But how could he escape from flight security check by the border security and Airforce of both countries? Moreover, Scotland to India takes 12 hours flight journey. But still the blood stains of villain fell on hero's body was fresh when he came back to his house in India!!!
5. When Zoya (the second female lead of the movie) reveals the secret of villain to hero and goes back to Scotland, the villain side did not harm her by any means and directly accepted her. This is weird. Director completely missed to portray this.
6. The people who watch the movie do not get any clue on when (at what stage of the story) does Ranvijay kills his brother in law.
7. The law and order does not exists at all in the movie. There was no police, no court even after hero kills around 200 people. Instead the media was asking about his health which is a big wonder of the movie.
8. There are many movies get cut in sensor board for such cruelty and violence. But how did this movie escape from sensor cuts even after having so much of violence?
I suggest not to watch this movie and the upcoming sequels of it.
The Kerala Story (2023)
Script should have been more stronger
Since my native place is near to Mangalore, I know the incidents of the movie are true.
Whereas I am giving only 6 star to this movie because the script should have had more clarity on characters. For example, when the leading character Shalini was taken to SriLanka, she gets a call from her hostel friend who says that they all are trapped. But why didn't Shalini try to escape from SriLanka itself, since she realized about trap? Why did she kept on believing her husband till she reaches Afghanistan?
When Shalini gets cheated by her boy friend, then why did she listen to Maulvi instead of reaching to her mother?
There is no reasons shown in the movie for these.
Kantara (2022)
Environment hatred movie
Too much of fighting (action) scenes. Drugs are promoted. Upon that forest destruction is also encouraged.
Hero smokes ganja (drug) and then fights. This means that a person can win a fight if he takes drug...
The animals and birds in forest usually get scared by bursting the 'garnal' (crude firecracker). In the movie, when the forest officer comes and warns the hero for doing this bad thing, instead of agreeing the mistake, hero pushes the officer back. Till the end of the movie, there is no sorry asked by hero specifically for doing this kind of nuisance, instead it is promoted in the movie.
These kind of scenes creates mis-behaviors in human being and puts bad impression towards wild animals and birds.
