Back in Time (2015)
Excellent for non-fanatics
Excellent documentary about "Back to the Future". I guess if you're really into the franchise, you probably know everything that was presented here, but for the uninitiated who have a slightly-more-than-passing interest, with a touch of nostalgia (as myself), this documentary is a wonderful journey... It has it's flaws (pointed out by many die-hards, e.g. overemphasis of the DeLorean), but this is wonderful introduction to the legacy of BTTF for those not indoctrinated.
This documentary presented many facts about the film that I was unaware of... I didn't know that the script had changed radically, nor that many scenes had been shot by the time Marty McFly was recast -- I knew subconsciously about the recast, but not about its extent.
I really enjoyed the section at the end where people connected with BTTF positied the way they would use time travel if it were suddenly available to them... There were a lot of truly dedicated and insightful people involved in producing this film, and it shows in that final segment.
Krull (1983)
Pacing
I didn't see Krull when it came out, but I like fantasy/sci-fi, so I was intrigued by it. I finally got around to watching it in the early 90's.
I thought the film had a lot of potential, but I was so bored by the long scenes that it ruined all interest I had in the film. It felt like one hour of content crammed into two hours of celluloid, for no other purpose than to call the film "epic".
Other than the slow pacing and a less-than-riveting climax, I have few negative comments about the film. That is why I decided to give it a 6 out of 10.
I hope some clever amateur editor re-cuts the film down to one hour. That could turn Krull into the fantastic film it was meant to be.
