Hostel (2005)
If you like drugs and sex.......
I think this movie SUCKED! The first hour and 1/2 is nothing but the three main guys going through Europe doing drugs and having sex with as many women as possible. The acting wasn't that great. . . . . .and I was expecting this movie to scare the hell out of me....it did not. . . .just made me want my $8.00 back, and I realized this was an hour and 1/2 of my life I'll never get back! I advise people not to go see this movie. . .I was disappointed and so was the group of friends that I went with.
We were also expecting it to mostly be more of a torture movie. . .Seriously, maybe 20 minutes is torture. . literally. . .and the other is the one survivor and some girl trying to get out of the city. SUCKED!
A Cock and Bull Story (2005)
Go see this movie!
I highly recommend everyone to go and see this movie when it comes to your city, town, whatever! It's a great movie! It was very funny, witty, and contains a lot of British humor. It's a little hard to follow at times, but it's so entertaining. Gillian Anderson has a cameo role as herself and as Widow Wadman, and she is brilliant in her screen time. Steve Coogan is brilliant as well. This was the first time I had ever seen him in anything before, and now I'll be following his career. I had a chance to attend this movie at the New York Film Festival this year and got to watch it with the cast, and attend the Q&A as well. It is so interesting on how they went about making this movie. I'm not sure how to sum it up without giving spoilers, but they say that Tristram Shandy is a book that cannot be filmed. The only thing I can say is that Michael Winterbottom succeeded---he definitely did the book justice!! :)
Mystery Woman: Mystery Weekend (2005)
Awesome Movie
I watched this movie tonight, and I was hooked during the entire two hours! I didn't even get up during the commercials because I was afraid I would miss something crucial to the plot. I didn't expect any of the things that happened. I was so happy to see Beth Broderick in a new movie. She is a brilliant and totally versatile actress, and did an amazing job playing Clare Beckman. The whole "Mystery Woman" series is awesome! When you're watching this movie it really seems like you're there. I don't really know how to sum this movie up without giving anything away----so you have to see it. I was never a big fan of Kellie Martin's but after seeing her in this mini-series, I will definitely start to watch more of her movies when they air.
