The Flash (I) (2023)

Simply amazing!!

Took my daughter to see the Flash and all I can say is wow, this movie is freaking amazing!!!

(WARNING SPOILERS) One of the stand out features of the Flash is the amazing sound quality. We saw it on the Xtreme screen, and boy oh boy, the Bass effects from explosions, and the sonic booms as the Flash enters the chrono-sphere will assault your ears with pure pleasure. This film needs to be seen in theaters, especially in Imax, trust me on this one

The special effects are incredible so dont listen to all the critics, who say they weren;t good because they were.

And as for the action, WOW!!! The Flash saving the babies who fell out of the building shows you just how fast the Flash truly is was awe inspiring, and as for Supergirl, I literally screamed in the theater at 1 incredible scene that showed off her incredible speed and power, as she saved some people from a high powered bullet

Everything about this movie is fantastic, it;s extremely funny, enjoyable and lets the audience have fun I highly recommend everyone to go see this movie, you won;t regret it.

A Quiet Place (2018)

Indescribably good!

A Quiet Place will surely go down in history as 1 of THE best horror movies of all time. I am hesitant to use the term "horror" though as that doesn't do this film justice. It is an epic, edge of your seat masterpiece with incredible acting, and a very good story

Spoilers ahead: The story focuses on a family surviving together in a world where you dare not make a sound, as "they" will hear you, they being a reference to the creatures in this film who have killed off most of the world's population To say that this film has incredible acting is an understatement as the entire cast puts in such a stellar performance, you are left wondering how did they do this in this type of genre.. There is 1 scene with Emily Blunt that is so shocking, so painfully real, that I don't even think it's acting, it's REAL, it was that good, you will know the part I'm talking about when you see it. Also. Millicent Simmonds performance as 1 of the daughters of the mother, is stunningly good as well This film manages to convey so much realism and tension without the use of sound, which is a testament to how good this film really is, the acting is perfect, the story is top notch, and the soundtrack is fantastic as well Please go see this movie, you won't regret it!

The Inside (II) (2012)

Incoherent mess

I'm struggling to find the words here as I'm trying not to be too negative but there's nothing redeemable about this trash at all. This film is also why anyone who dares use the obnoxious "shaky cam" style of filming needs to be fired and never work in Hollywood ever again. To say the shaky cam footage in this film is unwatchable is an understatement. It is so bad you literally couldnt see anything. You couple that with nearly every scene being almost totally dark, women screaming and crying every second you end up with this ridiculous trash of a film.

Women find themselves partying in an abandoned warehouse, get terrorized and abused by the most obnoxious and foul vagrants who are so unlikable that you question can these men be that evil? Non stop screaming and screaming from the women even when there's no need to scream and cry, to the point you just wished they would all be killed off, the men disappear for no reason, then inexplicably supernatural stuff happens, then they get terrorized some more, more screaming. A total mess of a film.

Taken (I) (2008)

Liam at his best

A well made thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. This is the film that made famous Liam's awesome line "But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you "

The film just grabs you once his daughter is kidnapped and it never let's go until the conclusion. Well scripted, and well paced, this is how thrillers are meant to be made. The only negative thing i found about this film was just how annoying his daughter is, she is the typical spoilt princess brat who wants to party and be free and then cry like a little girl when she is exposed to how bad the real world is. Honestly at some points I wish she was killed off! Liam is the sensible, level headed dad we all wanted, who tried to warn his daughter and the mother of the dangers that could happen when young girls travel by themselves overseas, but of course they never listened and at the start they tried to guilt Liam''s character as a "mean dad" who is smothering his daughter. The best payback was when Liam stormed back to the ex''s house and took charge as an alpha male after finding out his daughter was kidnapped, and seeing the ex shut her mouth for once, because she realized Liam was right all along. What follows is the lengths a father's love for his daughter will go as he tries to find where she's been taken and bring her home safely. All in all, a very satisfying film, go see it

Lake Placid 2 (2007 TV Movie)

Utter garbage

This atrocious trash had to have been made by incompetent amateurs and not "real" film makers because it's truly as bad as the critics say. It boasts the worse special effects for a crocodile I've ever seen, a hopelessly dumb script and even worse acting. Save your time and money and watch the original Lake Placid instead

I truly don't know where all the hate this movie is getting is coming from? It's nowhere as bad as everyone is making out. It's very baffling to me why so many reviews are negative Go see this movie for yourself and make your own mind up without being influenced by all the hate

Everyone talks about how powerful Captain marvel is, but honestly her powers are a joke compared to how powerful Phoenix is inside Jean Grey.....It is literally God tier power and it is awesome to see. This movie delivers the action, even if most of it is at the end in the final battle, but it doesn't mean the rest of the movie is boring as people make out, far from it, I was entertained right through the whole movie....Characters are fully fleshed out and you get to see their human emotions at play here Seeing Magneto vs Phoenix battle for control over the helicopter was breathtaking in intensity! Yup I would highly recommend this movie, especially in Imax

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

He's back!

If you see just 1 movie this year in Imax with Dolby Atmos sound, then make sure you see this! Godzilla 2:King of the Monsters was made for Imax, all my expectations were blown away by just how good the sound effects in this movie were.....every foot stomping, chaos inducing, building smashing, titans roaring moment was captured perfectly

One of the complaints about the last Godzilla movie in 2014 was that the star of the movie, Godzilla himself hardly got any screen time.....well don't be scared people because Godzilla gets heaps more screen time in this latest movie, and the same for the other Titans. This truly is an epic, popcorn munching movie where you go and see a world where these gigantic Titans are unleashed and realize how humans are totally insignificant and tiny in the scheme of things. The battles between Godzilla and the rest of the Titans are truly extraordinary and well done, with outstanding special effects Do not under any circumstances see this film on a small screen or one without Dolby Atmos....It needs to be seen in an Imax theater and one that is equipped with Dolby Atmos to be fully appreciated Best movie I've seen this year

Disturbing and amoral

It's a shame that you can't score films lower than 1 because if you could, this film would rate -100. I do admit though the acting is phenomenal and worthy of praise, in fact it's so good it doesn't feel like acting at all. In saying that I found the plot to be repugnant because how far can you get morally to torture someone who harmed you before you actually become no different than them? I believe this film takes this theme to a whole other level

If the goal of this film is to make us sympathise with the victims of pedophilia then Hard Candy failed on all counts, it actually made me really like Jeff (the pedophile), and made me wish that the truly psychotic Hayley was subjected to what she put Jeff through instead. It's hard to come to any other conclusion that the writers of this film don't like men very much as every single cliche about sexual violence was parroted and issued forth by Hayley in their dialogue together, so much so that you just wished the tables were turned around and Jeff becomes the hero. Overall I just found this film very toxic and mean spirited with NO redeeming qualities about Hayley at all, and I tried to really like her and see things from her perspective, I really did. Even though she is meant to be the victim here, I ended up siding with Jeff and I'm quite sure that's not the effect this film is supposed to have on people. Give this film a miss, especially if you get physically sick at castration scenes in movies

Halloween (I) (2018)

I had high hopes for this "sequel" but boy was I disappointed. Is this what horror films have become? Really? To say this wasn't even scary is a gross understatement. ...it was so dull and boring I could literally take my grandmother in to see it, and she hates horrors! There was no scares, no plot, rather poor acting and an even worse script. Why did Jamie Lee Curtis even sign up for this garbage? As for Michael Myers himself?, all I could say was he was a joke of his former self ....at least in the other Halloween movies he was a terrifying force to be reckoned with and he was genuinely scary, whereas in this movie he was a shell of his former self. Just an old 65 year plus man with a Halloween mask walking slowly around Watching this movie will make you long to watch the originals and then you will place THIS movie in the trash where it belongs Summary: Atrocious garbage

Noah (2014)

Utter Celluloid Trash

This movie was a cruel joke perpetuated upon an unsuspecting public who were hoping to see a biblical epic translated to film. Instead what we got was an abomination of a disgusting vile piece of celluloid filth that was neither accurate to the biblical account but deviated so far off track that it was actually offensive

Fallen Angels are now transformer rock creatures! Seriously??, Noah was portrayed as a violent psychopath who tried to murder his grandchildren, and Obiwan Methusalah gave him a magic bean that transforms the utter barren waste land where they loved into a lush green forest within minutes......nope I'm not kidding The special effects were utter garbage, something that came out of a Disney movie 30 years ago, I mean the animals were so fake it was laughable Also the dialogue could hardly be heard as it was so quiet Overall an utter garbage of a movie that was a waste of money and time.....the only reason I gave it a 1 as there is no option to give it zero stars. I think the director's and producers of this movie should feel utterly ashamed of themselves, they had an opportunity to give us a massive big budget biblical epic, but instead they completely botched it and made a mockery of the bible's account Avoid this movie at all costs

Apartment 212 (2017)

Creepy

This is definitely not your run of the mill creature horror flick......in fact you don't even see the "creatures" until 1 hour 13 minutes into the movie! and the film is only 1 hour 38 minutes long so you need to be patient In saying that the acting is very good and it's a solid film overall but I think this film can't make up it's mind if it wants to be a creature horror or a psychological journey in escaping domestic abuse seen through the eyes of Jennifer I liked it, but it won't be for everyone's taste

21 Grams (2003)

Fantastic acting but spoilt

This movie is as good as everyone says it is: Thoughtful, inspiring, touching, extremely well acted but the thing that lets it down is the horrible soundtrack. It goes from sudden very loud musical moments to dialogue that is literally incomprehensible for it being way too soft to hear and/or emotional blubbering where you can't make out what they're saying This movie is well worth seeing but just be prepared to have your hand on the audio controls where you will be constantly adjusting between loud and soft moments

Train to Busan (2016)

Simply Astounding!

If there is one film you must see before you die it is this one It truly is that good....I don't know how they did it, but this movie puts to shame how zombie films are made in America

The acting, the pace, the plot is perfection for movies of this kind

A warning though, and there's SPOILERS to follow:

This movie is literally the saddest movie I have ever seen, It tore my heart to pieces and I've never recovered....The ending will have everyone with a heart and soul sobbing their eyes out. In fact I can't listen to the end credits to this day without bursting into tears, I don't even believe it was acting because this was too real to be acting

This movie made a profound impact upon my life, and It will always hold a special place for me

Go see simply the best Zombie movie ever made, without the garbage Hollywood spin that they put on their movies

Dard Divorce (2007 Video)

For Gore hounds only

The first time I saw Dard Divorce, or should I say one of the gore sequences, i watched in absolute disbelief Having been brought up on horror classics like The Thing, the Saw series, Brain dead etc, I truly thought I had seen it all when it comes to gore

It's like there's gore films, extreme gore films and then there is Dard Divorce, it literally takes blood letting and sadistic violence to a whole other level

Other than that, the plot is ok, but the wife is seriously annoying, and I'm kinda glad she suffered, but here's the thing, she is like Rambo on steroids

After having her face smashed to a pulp, her fingers and toes cut off she apparently has no pain or fear and gets angry instead....It's like WTF??? what she goes through would not only break ALL women, but most men as well, but all it does is make her angry and ask where her kids are

Overall not bad for a amateur production, but strictly for the non discerning and gore hounds only

Blue Velvet (1986)

Pretentious Garbage

I decide to watch this film because of all the hype surrounding it, and after 20 minutes or so I instantly regretted it. By the time the credits arrived I was bored out of my skull, and I consider it a waste of 2 hours I will never get back. As for the much touted nudity and violence?, are you kidding me?, this film was a joke, there was barely any nudity at all, and if that's the viewers cup of tea, you will be far better off watching "Baise Moi", or "All about Anna"....at least those films have far more decent nudity, erotica, and were realistically done The acting was some of the worst I've ever seen, and perhaps the only redeeming feature of this film was Dennis Hopper, yet the acting was so over the top, it was laughable, as if you're watching a bad performance or something.....Dennis Hopper gives a far more gritty performance in the film "Speed" This film was literally boring as heck, and it went nowhere for me Avoid at all costs

Last warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Yes, yes and triple yes!!!! Supes is back and he is the Superman how he should be, how he always was and how you remember him in the comic books I can't believe it but the producers didn't wimpify Superman!!, he is amazingly strong, he is god-like, I love it!! When Superman is resurrected, he shows off his incredible powers and strength that will make you weep with joy....This is no p.c version of Superman, this is the Superman that should be feared and loved

Anyway Justice League gives us fans what we want, and delivers with action aplenty....Yes the editing could be better, so expect to see an uncut extended version at some point that will fill in some of the plot holes And boy oh boy Wonder woman is fast and powerful as well, she is super cool in this movie....In fact all of them give a fantastic job with their respective characters

Go see it, you will not regret it!

And kudos to the producers for NOT letting us down, finally they gave us a Superman who is simply amazing

I decided to watch this film just for a joke, and I'm left speechless, then I went from speechless to laugh out loud hysterical laughing. I mean this film is so bad that it had to have been made by children as a prank The acting has to be seen to be believed, it is so atrocious that no reputable film producer will ever hire anyone that stared in this film ever again. The CGI is on a level of bad that is laughable, we're talking about "Land Shark" level bad Also who wrote the script?, seriously, it is so terrible that it must have been composed by the intellectually impaired....I mean falling on the ground 2 feet away from the Croc, and saying "what do I do....then screaming at it, "nobody messes with a DJ sister" before getting eaten And omg! the head sorority sister is so vile, nasty, narcissistic, selfish, obnoxious and bitchy that she takes "entitled spoilt feminist brat" to a whole new level, you just have to see her, she's that bad....In fact her lines are the only redeeming feature of this film, you will get a chuckle every time she speaks Oh yeah, there's plenty of babes in bikini's to keep us guys interested in what's going on in this movie, that's it's second redeeming feature They confront crocs in the woods Anaconda comes does small battle with them Anaconda kills crocs Anaconda eats a guy Guy blows up Anaconda with grenade in it's belly The end....I did warn you lol

The Shack (I) (2017)

A Real Jem

No words can possibly describe the experience of watching this incredibly touching and moving film, you simply have to watch it and be in awe that a movie like this could possibly be made Possible spoilers ahead:

I had read the book "The Shack" and enjoyed it very much but I truly thought there's no way on earth the movie industry could make a movie that captured the very essence of "The Shack", but this one did, and blew away ALL my expectations

In a world filled with Hollywood garbage, shallow, mindless droll entertainment, "The Shack" stands miles apart as a warm, meaningful, gut wrenching movie, that has a depth to it that perhaps few of us could understand, even after multiple viewings

This film dares to probe the agony of losing your child and answering the "why" of it, and how could God let this happen etc, and it does it in a way that will leave the viewer sobbing their heart out as they are touched by the depth of God's love amongst profound tragedy The Shack touches this delicate subject with deep reverence, care, and sensitivity, and not once does it ever come across as "preachy"

For those of you who have ever been touched by the loss of a loved one, and cursed God at the unfairness of it all, I highly suggest they watch this beloved film

In some ways I wouldn't even describe "The Shack" as a film, It's more like a spiritual experience that takes the viewer on the most powerful journey of all, and floods the viewer with hope and God's deep love for humanity....but be warned, if the viewer watches this film with an open heart it will touch that person's soul forever

I don't know who the creators/writers of this film are, but they should be commended for making simply the best film not of this year, but the last 2 decades

I urge you to watch this film

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

What a mess

I honestly went in seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 with high hopes and excited expectations because it's part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which I absolutely love but my hopes were dashed

I was severely disappointed....about 10 minutes into this movie I kept thinking to myself, this had better NOT tie into the Marvel Universe because it is just far too childish and immature This movie looks like it's target audience was for 6 year old's, it was atrociously bad, it was trying to be funny continuously but failed in all departments Please don't waste your hard earned money or time watching this stupid trash, save your money for Wonder Woman instead
