Adventure Time (2010–2018)
5/10
Finn and Jake not included..
17 September 2014
I find it pretty sad when a show has to remove it's characters names on the title, especially when it revolved around such great friendships. It's almost as if they plan on moving one of them to college, despite starting off as a brotherhood, Finn and Jake are really on screen and when they are its usually not together. Instead this show takes moments pulled from a hat and splices together an episode in what feels like a random fashion. Despite mostly losing its main characters and their relationships with other characters, the show has somehow managed to continue its popularity and has grown in viewers. I feel as if this is almost an insult to what the show was and the fans of today aren't the ones who loved it for what it was when it started. I will most likely ignore this show in hopes it will return to it's former glory, LSP, Finn,Jake,Bubblegum,Hot Dog Princess, and many others established relationship made me believe that a Fallout style game would of suited Finn and Jake properly. The shows new formula could never stand under this idea due to the insertion of random protagonists. I will at least give the show credit for it's sequential story arc but I do feel this could of been achieved with the old formula. I don't believe this show is popular because its been changed ,especially when the main attraction with Finn's arm and father could of been achieved and played into a lot more with the old formula.

The Strain (2014–2017)
10/10
Amazing show.
7 September 2014
This show has been amazing since it's first episode. Despite some other peoples thoughts ,just because something can be called a vampire does not mean it is anywhere close to it. This show has brought a breath of fresh air to television in the horror genre as well as "vampires"( if you could even consider these vampires). This show has moved so far away from the modern concept of vampires that it has created something better and more creative. I realize this show is based entirely on a concept from the book but having Guillermo Del Toro involved in both has just sweetened the deal. I am an avid fan of Del Toro and as well I own the books. Regardless I believe they've done way better than anyone else has in these attempts. The show does an amazing job at balancing what's going on now with the history behind everything that's happening. Fet and Setrakian are easily my two favorites in this show and slowly watching Setrakian create his alliance has been an amazing experience so far. With too many romance and " reality" shows on television I would welcome a show like this any day of the year.

Black Jesus (2014–2019)
10/10
Not for the uptight.
14 August 2014
This show is hilarious. Regardless of the uptight people who've been criticizing the bold and the funny since GTA was a top down game, this show is a hit. I honestly can't figure out what they're more offended by considering many shows have made fun of Jesus and in this case I believe the race-card may be justified. This show is hilarious and has a great cast. What if Jesus smoked hemp and was Black? We don't know and in this day and age it's not uncommon for satire to be made from this. Regardless of what he does, Black Jesus still teaches love. Adult swim rarely gets live-action shows that I like, this one I enjoy thoroughly. If you cant handle the fact the television "goes there" nowadays turn the set off.

Anchorman .5
5 July 2014
I watched this movie on the basis that the original is one of my favorites and by far the greatest movie conceived into existence. But this.. I feel as if they were worried the fan base had started to fade and rushed an idea on paper and decided that would be they're movie. First of all, the cameos of Drake and Kanye felt out of place, almost as if they took the "Scary Movie" route and had to throw in some pop culture references in hopes it would make up for the fact they couldn't bring a cast as hilarious as the original. In the first Anchorman the era was blended in perfectly, and with the addition of many many great actors, it was destined for the greatness it achieved. In "The Legend Continues" there were no rivalries as charismatic as Ben Stiller's "Arturo Mendes" or Vince Vaughn's "Wes Mantooth". Even the relationship between the main cast felt different and almost as if parts of their personalities were destroyed entirely. In the first film it felt like a news team and kept the 70's ish newsroom consistent throughout. Also, In another review, the reviewer mentioned that it was the first time it felt like actors were looking at a camera. That is exactly how I felt many times. I really wanted to love this movie and as aggressive as she came off at first Meagan Good was a stunning addition to the film. As always bringing her beauty to the table and shining bright in some of her weirder moments in the film. Had the movie been able to bring a bigger cast, she would of been a great new addition no doubt. As much as I love Anchorman I have to say there is too many moments where I felt as if it was attended for a straight to DVD release. All of this aside I still feel like it could of been saved with a lot more moments of the crew together and their shenanigans. I can only hope if this franchise goes any further that they can take more of what worked in the first film and implement it into whatever's next.

Gang Related (2014)
9/10
Finally a good show to watch.
27 June 2014
With the slew of terrible reality shows or unwatchable dramas, Gang Related is a breath of fresh air (especially on Fox). I know some people say something like this is impossible to believe or it's impractical. So what? It's entertaining and it's good. So many shows are cancelled before the have a possibility to show their true potential and for it being this early on it's unbelievably interesting. Also, has no one ever seen Donnie Brasco? It's just a reverse situation instead of cop infiltrating mob ,it's mob infiltrating police. Fighting to do good while protecting his own. The show has an amazing cast of actors and it shows in GR. I think the only mistake we could make with this show is letting it slip away without seeing it through. Is Ryan a pawn to the ones he loves or is he really family. Someone who is willing to do anything for the people closest to him despite being on the edge of what's right and what's wrong ,and where he stands as an officer and a family member. Is there more corruption than meets the eye? Will the mistakes of some cost lives of others,or jealousy? It's nice to get a show like this that feels like a movie every time I watch it. If your a fan of shows like Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, or movies like Blood In Blood Out this is for you.

Bob's Burgers (2011– )
9/10
A little slice of Home.
6 May 2014
I have to say, originally after watching the first few episodes of Bob's Burgers I was not sure if I liked it or not , but sure enough the show started to grow on me.mi originally got caught up in Loren Bouchard's (and Brendan Small's) creation back when Home Movies was on UPN and to this day Home Movies is my favorite show that I watch all the way through quite often. The thing I like about Bob's Burgers is it feels familiar. Whether or not your a fan of Home Movies Bob's Burgers always seems to try to stay within the bounds of reality, often leaving parts in each episode to feel familiar. I know the show may not always make you "LOL" but I feel as if this show were to disappear ,into the vast pile of Fox's canceled shows, that something would be missing not seeing this dysfunctional but loving family. I can't help but sympathize for the fictional character Bob, as it seems he is consistently alone in his struggles until after humiliation his family steps in. But all of this is balance and formed into a show that has some intriguing plots and I love hearing the familiar voices from Home Movies even Jonathan Katz on a few occasions . So unless they decide to bring back Home Movies this will have to suffice ,but from what I had seen in the episode where Bob gets stuck in the wall with Louise's night light, I have to say that I'm OK with this being the alternative.

Evil Dead (2013)
4/10
Evil Dread..
17 July 2013
This movie is not a bad horror film, but being a huge fan of the Evil Dead movies and Army of Darkness. I was extremely disappointed with this film. I feel as if Bruce Campbell worried to much if a new Ash was to be born than the reference to him would be shattered. Instead he helped give us this . A horror movie that would have stood better under a different name or Evil Dead title. The absence of Ash in an Evil Dead film is quite obvious when you see it . This film feels more like one giant reference to a great film but falls short on adding it to the collection. There's enough gore to hold fans over throughout the movie and only a few moments that surprise you. So if you're looking for a horror film that's bloody and better than the disasters that have come out in the past 2 years this is not a bad choice . If you're looking for an Evil Dead movie blow the dust off your collection and enjoy the fact that a chainsaw -handed-badass -hero existed at some point but unlikely to come through again.

Defiance (2013–2015)
10/10
Addicting
23 April 2013
I have to say, I have never been the type of individual to get into a show like Defiance. The main reason I decided to give the show a chance was because I bought the game. After watching the first episode I thought, this show seems good but not great yet. Than I decided to watch the second episode and I now have to say I've been hooked anxiously waiting for the next and the next. This show has made me wonder if I've missed out on a lot of gems that I never gave a chance . I know it's impossible to watch the show and play the game at the same time but I'm after everything I saw I'm determined to try. Also if the show isn't your cup of tea try the game it may be nothing new to PC gamers but for consoles it's a great experience for guys and girls.
