Monkey Man (2024)

FRANCHISE TAG PLEASE

Now this is an amazing revenge high octane action movie. I'm sure most people know that Dev Patel directed, wrote, and starred in the only movie that really gives John Wick a run.

The camera work is incredible and so is the acting and Dev just oozes with an action star look in this. From slumdog, life of pi, to his biggest performance yet!

Whats even more flabbergasting is that this was his very first directing feature film and thanks to Jordan Peele for producing this and helping it become a absolute sensation.

Bravo to Dev Patel. I've been waiting each day to hear they decided to turn this into a franchise.

An easy 10 for me because there wasn't one moment I wasn't dialed in. Thank you.

Sugar (2024– )

I don't like hurting people

Tokyo vice, shogun, and now Sugar. All three shows have in common of watching only the first 3 episodes and feeling its going to be great. Most of the reviews seem to be missing the mystery into this show that will draw more viewers in.

Is this simply just a detective series with mysterious characters et cetera? Sure. But it's also a bit of sci fi....maybe.

No one knows but there are tons of theories about Sugars character.

Is he an AI? One thing it does have that ive missed for so long is the unreliable narrator. I.e Mr. Robot.

From the first couple of scenes seeing him catch a fly with his chopsticks. Him having glitches in the shower and continues going forward. Many believe hes an AI robot but i felt indifferent until I thought about it. The shot he injected into his neck to sleep and his eye constantly waters.

The whole being able to drink as much alcohol and not being able to get drunk because of his metabolism. That one really got me.

And then there's the writing. No fat at all. Tight writing with twists that take their time unfolding the plot and sub plots. It's fun deliberate and very calculative.

Ultimately, this is a show of a lot of substance and a thinking show that challenges you. If that sounds interesting, WATCH THIS SHOW.

The Regime (2024)

Unfortunately the end ruined it all

I had a fun time watching this show because of the incredible acting of Kate Winslet. Without her this show could NOT have worked.

However, all 5 episodes are meaningless once you reach the end of the sixth and last episode.

I could have sworn the butcher moved his head before being shot, however the end shows him dead in that freak casket. It doesn't work AT ALL with Zubrak dead. Terrible choice of the writers and a total waste of my time.

Save your time and watch Tokyo vice or shogun. This one tried way too hard and couldn't stick the landing. A dud and I don't remember the last time I've said that about an HBO original but skip this.

Cherry (I) (2021)

ONE OF THOSE MOVIES YOU WATCH NOT EXPECTING AND TURNS OUT INCREDIBLE!!!!

Blindfold test: Who's the director? Can't be Marten Scorsese however its VERY inspired by him with the long shots and his signature framing. The coloring is nice. Spike Jonze?....ehhh it's too good. Too tight. Many directors I guessed because I missed the credits but remembered reading the book so put it on hoping it to be at least a time killer.

NOPE. Turns out this thing is exceptionally made. Yes the directing is top notch, and yes I was appalled to learn it was directed by the Russo Brothers showing their biggest range yet, the talent was spectacular but I found the editing to be the one that cut it perfectly. Just perfotectly and im not so sure it would have worked with a different editor that saw this story very differently in their mind clearly, and produced it. Again making an air tight movie that has you captivated or has all of your attention the entire time.

Tom Holland has another great performance so I feel mixed saying this but this is his best performance yet, by far!

It's a movie that does not glorify war and in fact actually depicts the truth about war with such perfect words and depictions. Its interesting for a film that probably only spends twenty mintues to war and it may be the best depiction of the truth shot and written.

Anyway, it's fun at times, very sad most of the times but I think many people will relate to some of the issues present in this for e.g They got the addiction right with couples because I've seen it first hand with a best friend and her boyfriend.

I thought the movie was bold and tackled many problems and provided people with insight and hopefully a new perspective of particular things.

Masterpiece in my opinion but again maybe it's because I know how honest to life thie movie is. FYI obviously way better than book.

The Beekeeper (2024)

I've always wondered why no one wrote a 'John Wick' type franchise for Stratham and this movie could be it. Comparing it to John Wicks first introduction, I'd say I was insanely more captivated throughout this WHOLE movie. Simple plot BUT with a great concept. It seems in the beginning its just going to be a fun revenge film and it was, but not simplisticly so.

The Hive can be explored even further with a sequel and more if Hollywood is smart. I don't believe any studio has lost money with Strathem at the helm and his last franchise movies were so long ago. And personally, I prefer old hard men in these roles Ala Keanue Reeves.

Saltburn (2023)

WOW

This was a masterpiece. What a year filled with incredible FILMS and performances that have me flabbergasted as to who deserves it more. Each leading actor and actress knocked it out of the park this year.

And then I by chance just happened to watch it and I was enamored the whole time. There were so many cringe moments but I couldn't look away. It's unbelievable the performance Barry provides.

Bravo to the writer and Director, who she also created Killing Eve. I'm so happy to see someone finally take a risk in providing arefreshing unique daring movie. I haven't seen a movie this effective and one that continues to push the envelope.

Someone said a rip off of the talented Mr Ripley. I feel bad for that person because they watched the wrong movie. Watch it! Experience this! And let yourself to continue to think about it for a couple of days or rewatach it. This is perfect. I personally believe Barry deserves the Oscar and that's saying A LOT! Even if he doesn't win, which he won't, he still shook the whole industry up making himself the best actor of his generation. I can't imagine how good this kid is going to get. From Killing of the sacred deer (watch it after Saltburn because it will fill that void bc you're going to watch something even more risking taking at the peak of PC culture in 2017).

I think it's worth a comparison and it's worth also noting how many great actors and directors he's worked with so early in his career. Yorgos, Nolan, Emerald et cetera.

Enjoy this experience because these movies are rare.

The English (2022)

One of the best series of 2022

You can't go wrong with ANY series created by Hugo Blick e.g The Honorable Woman, The Shadow Line et cetera et cetera.

Think of this 6 episode series as a fuse. Many would say it's a slow burn but being it's Blick the dialogue is second to none. Every moment of this show makes you realize that storytelling like this is very rare. The kind of series that has all the perfect ingredients.

First, if you have a OLED tv or a great TV, you will be blown away by the breathtaking cinematography. It's gorgeously shot. The acting is top notch. Emily Blunt at her finest. As for the story, think of it as a spider web that all leads to the same place. There's nothing wasted. Not one mintue. This is the type of series you'll crave for more but it leaves your soul torn to pieces as it touches your heart in very few ways a show can do.

I know Tyler Sheridan is sitting somewhere even marveled by this MASTERPIECE. That's exactly what it is. It's a slow start but just keep in mind soon as it starts the fuse is lit and there's many MANY explosive moments that will utterly shock you.

Bravo to every single person involved with this show and thank you for making me actually feel a million feelings during this incredible experience. It stands as a testament that there aren't series that capture this type of storytelling anymore.

Watch it and don't give up early everything is connected and will blow your mind and heart to peices. 11 out of 10.

American Gigolo (2022)

Low scores pulled out too early

This series continues to suprise me the further I get. First, you can't go wrong with the creator of Ray Donovan at the helm. And second, it is always captivating not one boring moment.

Jon Bethernol usually seems to play the same actor but in this he emulates Richard Gere so well and there's times where he looks just like him.

It's a very layered shows with a lot of things going on (in a good way) to keep the viewer compelled.

This series is absolutely fantastic and insanely bingable. Well done and bravo.

Ignore the negative reviews and watch the first episode and you'll thank me. Great rendering of a remake.

Squid Game (2021– )

A TRUE MASTERPIECE

No wonder this series took so long to create and it shows because there's literally not one flaw. It's perfect in every sense and has every major ingredient that makes it one of the best shows of this decade hands down!

The acting; absolutely incredible. The leads acting is stunning and beautiful even without him saying anything his facial expressions speaks volumes in VERY dramatic scenes (which scenes aren't?)

The directing is stellar and flawless. I love shows that are truly unique; Severance, Night Sky just to make a couple.

My favorite series just to give my opinion of this series context; Mr. Robot, The leftovers, Fargo, Dark, Altered Carbon S1, Westworld s1, Legion, Severance, Night Sky, Utopia UK, Black Mirror too many to list but if you like a few of said shows you will love this 100%.

You get attached to most of the characters and note: watch this with subtitles for the full experience as intended.

This is probably the most addicting bingable show 11 out of 10 easy.

You'll thank me give it a shot.

Cobra Kai (2018–2025)

This is the type of show you can watch with you kids, friends, or even your parents. It appeals to everyone.

I want to give the writers credit for this season, which feels so tightly written that I can't help but wonder if it may be the final or how they can possibly do it yet again or if they could possibly top this season?

I'm my opinion this was the best season and that says a lot. I feel confident saying everyone will love the addition of this seasons best character, Chosen. Much of the theme this season is about forginess, except for Silver. This show delivers the laughs at all the right times as usual. I'd love to have a drink with Johnny Lawrence. He remains the best character on the show and this series lives past its expectations. Any fan that loves the previous seasons will be absolutely addicted and likely consuming it all at once left with a cheesy smile on your face and happy.

The only con is its written so incredible and ties up a lot leaving you with a seed of doubt that they can't possibly top this season.

The Captain (2022)

Every athlete and aspiring athlete this is a must watch

First I just want to get this out of the way. This is the BEST representation of Jeter. Bravo to the director who DJ trusted and for great reason.

Not many people know the real Jeter i.e best sense of humor and always made his teammates laugh. Also too many people misconstrue Jeter as being overrated. The latter makes absolutely no sense and isn't logical.

Finally this brilliant docu series shows how fundamentally important Jeter was in playing a role as a Captain. He led by example. Non Yanks fans know he hit over 3,000 hits but aren't aware that he could have had many many more hits but he ALWAYS ALWAYS put the team first that's why he always bunted to get the player over rather then go for the hit. He sacrificed a lot and put a lot on the line.

He's not the best player. However he is one of the best players that demonstrates what it is to be a leader and be the anchor to their championships. Mo, Posada, Bernie, and Andy would be the first to admit that.

When he retired I felt so detached from the Yankees without the players i grew up watching had all moved on and especially Jeter. His career is a storybook ending. Whether hitting his 3k hit as a homerun,, his final game at the stadium and his final game. He left it all on the field. You can't gage Jeter by his career numbers but by the context in which he played.

As for this incredible series, I'm so glad Jeter revealed a side of his personality while showing his sense of humor. Awesome behind the scenes details that I've never knew about as a Yanks fan.

The first two episodes are significant because it shows that you need to face adversity to shape and mold your character. It should be a lesson and inspiration to other aspiring athletes. If you want it enough NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF. Just believe in yourselves.

This is a doozy 10 out of 10.

Bravo DJ and the whole production team involved that helped create such a masterpiece and I'm 100% confident that it will only get better.

Dune (2021)

Will go down as one of the best movies ever

First, I have not read Frank Herbert's Dune Series of books so I went into this blind. With Denis directing though I did have high expectations and boy did they far succeed them. In fact there wasn't one moment I wasn't absolutely riveted and captivated by the story, characters, and insanely incredible special effects with the perfect cinematography to make it look real and very grounded. Hans Zimmer is a legend and he out does himself yet again with an amazing score.

The.whole cast is exceptional. Every single character. I just wish there was more Duncan Idaho.

SEAL Team (2017–2024)

One of the best series

7.5 is absolutely outrageous! I watched the first couple of episodes mainly because I dig David Boreanaz but to be honest I doubted I'd like it being CBS is a mainly procedural channel and I prefer serialized series or shows; with the exception of Persons of Interests (later in the series) that I can think of. THIS SHOW FEELS LIKE AN HBO ORIGINAL I swear. Or at the very least FX. Its incredible. The creator is Benjamin Cavell and if you check his resume I should have known better going into it. Acting phenomenal! Cast perfect! Story arcs each season cant get better. A what I really adore about this series is that it's not a series glamorizing soldiers and out heroes, but rather showing how endless these men and women's sacrifices in life are. It's very heavy but light at times delivering excellent laughs at the perfect moments. You'll fall in love with these characters and feel invested in their lives and have an even bigger respect for our troops. This show portrayed all that and much more. This series is a must see at all costs. What an amazing experience watching all four seasons. It literally changes how you look at life and feel grateful for family and friends. If you really enjoyed a series like Friday Night Lights you will absolutely adore Bravo One and this series.

The Little Things (2021)

What an unfortunate experience

I'm not sure I remember a movie that was so misleading as all the trailers to this film set it out as a pure thriller-drama. Actually, I'm not sure I remember the last time I enjoyed the trailer much more than the actual movie. To be fair, if I didnt have such high expectations (look at the resume of everyone involved including a excellent director) going into the movie, maybe I would appreciate the noir style more.

Warrior (2019–2023)

ENTER THE DRAGON

Maybe we all tuned in at first for the incredible pulpy fight scenes that are perfectly choreographed. But then as the world grows and the writers invest time in many of the characters, this series became something so special. Like Banshee, every important character is very intriguing and very likeable or the opposite. I have to say this is superbly written and the best series in a long time. I cant even imagine a third season not being lit. This series has become something so different than when it began. Bruce Lee would be very proud of this and Bravo again to all the writers and Tropper for doing it once again! This series is nothing short of a 10 rating

Fargo (2014–2024)

Wtf Noah

The first two seasons, imo, were brilliant! S3 was okay buy S3 with 5 episodes in, is disastrous! There was so much time between S3 wrap up until the fourth season arrived that I'm totally appalled by what Noah has written. Sure he was writing Legion, which I love despite many not such a fan of, but this is totally disconnected from the Fargo world. A real let down and of course every fan of this series has big expectations. You have to if you've seen the previous seasons and I think this is why I'm so disappointed with S4.

Utopia (2020)

Watch the UK original instead and save time out of your life

Dont even waste your time. This remake is criminal and a disgrace to the original created by Dennis Kelly. Besides, the original rewards you with captivating rewatches---a series you'll want to revisit each year and does NOT age at all. Gillian Flynn failed massively with this.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)

78 Days

Vince Vaughn proved he is very versatile in the past but with his latest film, I will forever respect just how really incredible he really is. Just phenomenal.

That said, look, the negative reviews are from individuals who do not prefer gory and violent films. And anyone will agree those two words are an understatement.

This movie is perfectly tight never leaving you NOT captivated. It's a very straightforward story nor is it extraordinary but somehow it feels so every moment watching this.

This movie is white knuckle, high octane violence, and creates one of this decades best characters in Bradley Riley. This movie is incredible and doesnt deserve anything short of 8.

Peaky Blinders (2013–2022)

Incredible series with a brilliant fifth season

Bravo to Steven Knight, the creator/writer, and the rest of the writers because this show has the best dialogue of any show airing. So many quotes but also profound words used. Its beautiful.

If you've seen past the first season that means you love this show and loved every season so far.

However. I'm seeing some people stating that the latest season was a decline in the shows prosperous run and I totally disagree. The season, while always being captivating, is setting up the sixth season or possibly the final two seasons left.

One of the best series and most unqiue

New Girl (2011–2018)

Criminally underRATED

This series is sunshine. The perfect type of comedy that you look forward to watching soon as you get home at night to unwind and return to living in this shows world that is nothing short of happiness full of laughs EVERY episode.

So. How is this series, one of the best comedies, have such a short balling rating of 7.7? This consertivaly deserves at least an 8.2.

It took another great comedy series in Happy Endings and updated it including brilliant writing/writers, and incredible comedic acting.

The perfect cocktail of shutting your brain off at night, absorbing tons of laughs, and provides rewarding rewatching. A perfect cocktail for a comedy.

Nothing but love for this show that does NOT disclude men and welcomes both. Enjoy

Yellowstone: The World Is Purple (2020) Season 3, Episode 10

This is why this series is the best show on TV...

Each season has been building to season 4. We've invested in this worlds characters and care a lot for the endless amount of characters this show offers. I can't remember a show that introduces us to so many intriging people that are beautifully writen with depth.

John obviously survives but of course he couldnt die because it wouldnt have the same effect as Beth dying in that explosion. Believe me. Shes dead. She is the only character that would undo John, especially RIP, and Kayce.

That's why this third season spent so much time on her finally finding happiness and with RIP it was literally a fairy tale love story. But we all know those dont exist.

I'll tell you why it makes sense that RIP goes and visits his mother, talking to her and taking the ring. To show how much his difficult life has changed because hes marrying the woman of his dreams. The one person that knows how to balance him. He loved her witty humor and how much smarter she is than the men she deals with.

When that bomb went off, it started a war with the Duttons and the Indians that it will also effect.

Then we have Jamie. A man, almost brother, that's involved in the attempted killing of his father or man that raised him, his brother, and his sister. It shows what Beth told him. Hes evil.

Though this was an incredible final episode or cliffhanger, I didnt feel like I was cheated because it was an abrupt shocking ending that provides so much content for the fourth season. I'm only angry I binged watched it in a day.

Every fan of this show all love RIP. The fourth is RIPS season to hopefully gain the recognition for his brilliant acting, but let us all see the toughest SOB unleash his rage along with his father figure John and Kayce, who we all know survived that attack.

I'm very confident stating the fourth season will go down as one of the best seasons in TV history. By then hopefully everybody that hadnt discovered this gem will find it and realize why everyone says this is the best series right now.

A fathers revenge. RIPs only happiness in his life: a women that he would die for. Vengeance. A member of the family betraying them and murdering and attempting to murder them all. The Indians. Hopefully we'll see what the Clan Warrior will do.

Best show

Yellowstone (2018– )

One of the best series this decade

Make no mistake, this series contains a lot of action, violence, and drama. However, if you're going because of this, you'll likely bail out of this early. And reading through some of these "reviews" I guarantee those rating this less than a seven, have threw in the towel the first few episodes and that's a tragedy and injustice to yourself.

What this series really thrives on is its stellar writing, incredible dialgue, and incredible characters deeply written oh and brilliant casting.

This decade consists of truly amazing series and yet I am fully confident this is among the best. You cant view this with a sprint mindset but a marathon knowing each season improves upon the last. And believe me that's saying A LOT! Once you become hooked, you fall in love with many of these intriging characters and follow each of their journeys beautifully portrayed. This show is profound. Simple as that. Theres endless drama beneath the surface and a world you'll yearn to experience.

Absolutely captivating and riveting. Believe me, I am being as un-biased as possible. thank me later

Warrior (2019–2023)

Better than Banshee

The best show you may have just heard of.

It captures the legends of Bruce Lee in many aspects and the casting is absolutely flawless because these actors are playing VERY intriguing characters that all play an important part in this world that Tropper once again executes so incredibly.

I could not imagine watching this weekly because it's like a movie and an absolute addictive binge watch. You'll enjoy the experience even more binging especially right before season 2 arrives in early September.

The fighting is second to none in terms of a TV series like this. Way better than Into the Badlands and it even holds a light to Deadwood and in many ways both shows share many similarities.

So MANY interesting and fascinating characters.

Without one single doubt, I swear to you this is the best series if you're looking to be riveted and captivated EVERY episode. You'll be oozing with passion not even halfway through!

Warrior (2019–2023)

One of the best series out there right now without a doubt

I know I've stumbled upon a gem of a series, a special show, when the world of this series has so many roots that assure me that this first season absolutely means this will provide a few more seasons, and after devouring the first season, you'll be so invested in every root and watching each one bloom.

What I mean is this series offers so much intrigue within very well written characters, none that are wasted.

The casting is absolutely superb and stellar. Same with the acting.

Of course we all know this series showrunner, Jonothan Tropper, also created Banshee.

Except the same violence and high octane action, this series feels much more matured in Troppers career.

I guarantee that if this show was on a better platform or streaming platform, it would be a MASSIVE hit and well received by the masses. This may not be fair to say, but it reminds me of a modern day Deadwood.

This show had its hooks in me after the first two episodes and then it just kept getting better and better with each episode and then episode five comes along and surprises me more and convinces me that this is very special. It was like Hateful Eight but 55 minutes. By episode 5 you will all happily agree that this series is here to stay for a long time and imo, will ultimately surpass Banshee and add to the creators brilliant portfolio

love the element the showrunner decided to incorporate, and I think it's an advantage to know before watching, is that though the Chinese characters are talking in English, its not revealed until later

Condor (2018–2020)

The best new spy drama as Condor is really the real deal and Homelands successor

I believe when it comes to any dramas, I have a great eye for the good series to the incredible dramas.

I am STUNNED by the negative reviews pertaining to season two. While I REALLY feel this series deserves a 9, I cant get past or forgive the writers for being overzealous not substituting the Russians. Yeah sure, some scenes spoken in Russian you can get a feel for with the context surrounding the scene, but with most, you are just watching Telemundo.

However, the reason s1 is a solid 10 is because these same writers, that have wrote respectful series before, wrote the hell out of it resulting in EVERY episode captivating.

It felt so fresh. A new breathe with what we've become accustomed to watching. The characters are written beautifully in this series but the BEST attribute to this shows depth is it's all out for EVERY character being killed etc.

Not many showrunners have the guts that this series does having NO PROBLEM killing off important people that you will care about. All shows that consist of this kind of fearless writing are most likely excellent shows.

The twists and turns, of course but again, a fresh breathe at how they capture and execute everything so flawlessly, more so s1.

S1 is a 10. S2 in all honesty is no where near as bad as people are saying. Sure, everything is subjective but please listen to me and watch this series because you will be lost for three days in a binge attack.

Only problem is unfortunately not a good platform picked this up, despite its wonderful production, audience network sucks ass bc many people, most, do not have access to it bc why would you. Their best series are Kingdom, one of my personal fav series, and Condor.

William Hurt was brilliant as always and Max Irons is a savage and the new modern day Ryan Phillippe. Incredible acting across the board.

This series is amazing please dont miss out!
