Lansky (2021)
Keitel
The movie is a 6, Keitel is a 10. Hence the 8~
All you need to know.
For me the film was Titled Lansky, and should have had more about him and less about the journalist. Scorsese got it right in The Irishman. The elements were all in place. This could've been better, but was good enough. Keitel makes it worth the watch. Maybe that's just Lansky. Always under the radar, pulling the strings from behind the curtain. I can see why applying those elements of his character in this story to the journalist, reminding us what a masterful manipulator he was, fits, but it felt that there was much more to tell. Maybe Lansky was just too big for one film.
Boy Meets Girl (2014)
💔
I watched this movie on a fluke. No idea what it was, figured it was a rom com. I felt this movie. It broke my heart open. In so many ways, in difficult times, the world is becoming more beautiful. Just watch it. Broke my heart open~
Hell's Kitchen (1998)
Love it for what it is
I've seen this movie a number of times. Maybe because I'm a huge Angelina Jolie fan, maybe because I relate to a number of elements in the film. The cast is comprised of considerable talent and I can understand how in many of the scenes there appears to be "over-acting" performances. But, having spent and worked with the typical characters portrayed in this film, I can say that the seemingly exaggerated emotional displays are appropriate. Understanding these characters, their circumstances, their self destructive paths and social limitations, these actors capture their characters in their true form. Real life and real people seldom come in neat little packages.
