I almost never rate 10 for a movie. However, this was an exception. I was a bit skeptical when the movie started because I am not one for camcorder movies but this was done nicely. The start of their relationship left me wondering if I would do something like that but what the heck. Things like this happen. The movie is realistic. It is raw and it made sense. Amazing movie and amazing actors.

I have been waiting to watch this movie for a very long time. I like movies with diverse casting. This drew me in especially because of the interracial relationships (Maddy and Olly and (although not mentioned) Maddy's mom and dad) in this movie. I love the fact that despite it being centered about this biracial girl and a Caucasian boy, it wasn't the selling point of this movie. It wasn't mentioned once nor made a big deal of.
The actors had amazing chemistry and it was pleasant to watch. Good acting. However, I would have loved to see the struggles Olly went through with his father and his side of the story. I understand that in the book, this was not the case.
In short, this movie will make your heart skip beats and occasionally pause (if you can) to absorb things and later wonder why they didn't explain certain things. It is light and something you can watch and not hurt your brain from thinking. All in all, a very nice movie. Go watch it :)

I really like coming of age movies so I googled for some and stumbled upon this one. The summary really won me over but I wanted to do some investigating before I proceeded to watch it. I got some mixed reviews and was skeptical. However, after watching it, I was blown away. I loved it. Although it wasn't 10/10 for me and I am no movie expert, the way the movie was made and the originality of the characters despite having clichéd labels was on-point. I felt a sense of relief when I finished watching it which is always awesome. So please go and watch it.
