Knock Knock (I) (2015)

I can't believe I didn't EVAN-tually turn off this movie halfway through
10 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
****Contains some spoilers****

I just had the grave misfortune of having seen "Knock Knock". There are many horror aspects to this movie; the terrible acting, the Diablo Cody-esque dialogue, the tricks meant to be "twists", pretty much everything but the movie itself. I should've known better than to think Keanu Reeves could partially save an Eli Roth production. At this point it feels like I watch Eli Roth films as a form of self torture, to bad nothing Roth creates could ever compare to the actual torture of watching one of his movies, more so than any, this one.

Frankly men should be insulted by this movie, not only because it somehow managed to exist, but because they are portrayed as mindless animals, unable to defend against the sexual advances of young women. The movie's intro is pretty much the kind of made up fantasies you'd find in "Penthouse", fiction, so unrealistic it'd have to set in a different universe, like those created for Superheroes to exist in. Unfortunately even the Justice League could never save this movie. Men aren't sharks in blood infested waters, they're human beings capable of thought and logic, to say that ALL men that have been victims of these girls couldn't resist them, that no man could ever said no is blatant misandry. Something that as a feminist I struggled to believe could happen to men until I managed to finish this movie. The girls then proceed to act like children, destroying everything in sight, not really doing anything calculating or taking anything of value. For me to believe that they had done this before, for the "four years" they hadn't been home is ridiculous. Surely someone would of eventually called the police, someone would of found them. Even if the victim lived alone by the time the body has been discovered there would be countless fingerprints and bodily fluids to sift through. I saw this movie not 5 minutes ago and somehow it's already managed to blur into obscurity in my mind. It was so cliché ridden and without cohesive thought, monkeys in a room with a typewriter could assemble a more thoughtful movie than this.

The only way i'd ever recommend this movie is if you've eaten something poisonous and need to induce vomiting.

It started off strong...

When I read the synopsis of this movie I was so excited to see it. The concept just seemed so interesting and original.

It starts off with a kick, within minutes I was feeling the uneasiness that this movie is meant to inflict.

Most of the actors are phenomenal, it's when I see movies like this that I don't understand how Hollywood can't cast better actors 90% of the time.

The movie keeps a good steady pace, I wasn't bored at any point. Which is a feat considering my minuscule attention span.

It was such a great movie until there was about 20 minutes left in the film. It takes a strange turn. I can't say much without giving it away. But when you see it you'll understand what I mean.

I completely suggest it because other than that it's great. And who knows? You may like the ending more than me.
