Ask 101 (2020)
Totally ridiculous
Let alone the epic logical errors in the story, the series doesn't represent anything related to the Turkish culture and social structure in 1900s. Such a total mess which can only attract teenagers and some other tasteless audience who are lazy to search the good quality series on Netflix.
Mutlu Ol! Bu Bir Emirdir! (2008)
Full of lies and slander
The only reason why this movie was made is to tell lies about the history of Turkish Republic and humiliate its founder. It says that the movie is based on real story, however the loser director could not show any proof on where and how did this take place!
Börü (2018)
Good exalter of Turkish special ops during the coup attempt
As one who had watched Börü mini series for more than twice maybe, I finally had a chance to watch the movie on Netflix.
Before starting my brief review, I would like to remind you people that this move has come to the cinemas with some unfortunates which has cost it low number of audiences. First one is some irresponsible new regulations brought for movie houses that disinclined the audience from watching the movies in such locations. The second mishap is faulty sound mix that culminated in bad reviews by so many audience.
That's why the director of Börü removed the copies from movie houses earlier than its usual removal date. Maybe he's likely to re-launch it in the anniversary of 15th of July on which the movie is created.
Let's come to the short review of movie. For me every story will remain imperfect to explain the 15th of July incident satisfactorily. So this movie has chosen to narrate it around the glorious struggle of Turkish Special Ops against Fethullahist coup attempters.
It has good plotline considering that the director strived to limit a whole 24-hour-long action into 2 hours. Recapturing of Military Special Ops Hq, TÜRKSAT Satellite Centre, dog fight of fly jets to protect the President and scenes from the rebellion of civilians against the coup attempt are adequately shown. Should the collaboration between Turkish people and the security forces be emphasised, so that the real spirit of 15th of July struggle would be narrated in a better way. However, the narration is still strong in my eyes.
Some weak points are; the clash scenes are not as exciting as in Börü series. Maybe it's because the movie was made on a rush. Secondly, not too many emotional speeches were needed as the real story is already full of emotion and sorrow. And the last one was, I wish the closing part would never be in the movie. I don't know what message the director wanted to give but it seems like the guys from Börü team sneaked in the US and caught the leader of this coup attempt. I would terribly wish for our state to have such a power; but alas! It seems a bit unrealistic - particularly for the Turkish audiences.
All in all, it is a very successful movie telling about the realities of 15th of July coup attempt for the first time in Turkish cinema history. Not only the Turkish, also everyone around the world who is curious about that significant incident took place in 2016 must watch Börü series and this movie.
Dabbe: Cin Çarpmasi (2013)
Successful experience with different metaphors.
I've been watching Mr. Hasan Karacadag's horror movies since the "d@bbe" movie has been made in 2005. Due to its story, the movie was seemed to be the pioneer of a very different sort of horror in Turkey. The most effective fact in that is the influences of Karacadag movies in usual. The classic and usual horror movie sense in the world was like what Hollywood used so far. But with his own created view and his own assertions about doomsday, Karacadag has made an influential change about horror movie clichés.
That's what Hasan Karacadag's whole movies' main themes are about. He urges so odd arguments about Islamic metaphysical stuffs and his genuine theories about the omens of doomsday in Islam religion become very controversial claims every time he makes a new movie. His theory about the "dabbe" notion which's mostly used in his movies triggered so many discussions related to Islamic metaphysical assets mentioned in Quran. Due to the meaning of "dabbe" word he correlates the "dabbe" with the internet we always use in our lives (dabbe means something is spread around the world) because the world wide web and the dabbe both have the same function. This argument of the director has been used in almost every movies of him.
Like previous movies, the movie "Dabbe: Cin Çarpması" is also telling about Karacadag's metaphysical inquiry results. You'll be hearing of some things related to doomsday, jinns, devil etc. which you've never heard before. Like other movies of the director, this movie also will add a very different point of view to your mind about your metaphysical senses you used to have beside its thrilling side.
