Out of Death (2021)
More colour please!
This is a terrible film. Let's get that out the way first. All the reviews here can explain what makes it so bad. But I just want to drop my single star review to ask one question. What have they done with all the colour? Almost the whole film is a muddy brown. A real shame when the location is so scenic. And just one other pet peeve of mine that I need to gripe about. Why do they open the film with a spoiler scene? Is it just to reassure us that Bruce Willis is in the film. Those spoiler clips are so annoying. Let me just see the story unfold in chronological order. Rant over. Now go and watch Die Hard instead 🙂
Clickbait (2021)
No no no!
I can't believe this a new drama. It looks so dated, especially with the post production green tinting. Why do all American shows and films wash all the colour out to green or blue? All the characters look ill!
Then there is the wooden acting, the ridiculous plot, and the green... Sorry I can't get past the green. My TV is HDR and all singing all dancing, but content is being shown like this. Please enough with the green!
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Overrated
I've gone back and rewatched this film after everyone rated it so highly. But I still can't see what the appeal is. It goes on and on but nothing much happens. Watching it started to feel like a prison sentence. I certainly won't be going back in for a third stretch. I'm happy to accept that I'm right and you lot are all wrong. To all those giving it a perfect score, I say try watching more films.
Native (2016)
Old school budget sci fi
The only modern characteristic of this film is the opening scene which is a preview of part of the films climax. I wish this trend would go away. I'm sick of films that begin with a spoiler scene from the ending.
That gripe aside, I did enjoy this low budget sci fi movie that had you actually thinking.
