Another dud for Bruce
10 December 2022
It looks like Mr. Willis has reached another new low. The fact he accepted this disastrous script speaks volumes. If he needs to stoop this low he really should get out of the acting business once and for all. The story is forced and full of pathetic missteps. The acting is a joke. The editing is a disgrace. Even the subplots are ridiculously underdeveloped after thoughts. "Hey, let's throw in a couple of unnecessary side stories to make our movie feel modern and edgy". Watching this 90 minutes of rubbish made me very sad for Bruce Willis and whatever remained of his legacy. Please Bruce, if must take on additional roles, read the script in advance!

Ed Wood Lives
8 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
From the opening scene to the tragic conclusion this film plays with movie making conventions. There is no subtle exposition. The crew must have had fun coming up with a steady flow of tongue in cheek parodies.

When a possible perpetrator leaves a small bottle marked with a skull and crossbones on the kitchen counter you know this ain't Hitchcock.

When the family dog is found dead in the outdoor trash bin, little pink tongue hanging out, it's hard to contain laughter. And what does the aforementioned perp do? Why, he rushes the pup to the nearest crematorium. How else do normal people dispose of their beloved Fido's?

There is no doubt the filmmakers are fans of Ed Wood and early John Waters. Instead of labeling the movie "mystery thriller" it should have been "dark campy comedy". Or not?

I can't believe all the positive reviews
16 August 2020
Sure, it occasionally wandered into Hitchcock visuals. And the acting was what you expect from Harrison and Pfeiffer. But I found the story meandering and not very believable. The underlying atmospherics kept me partially engaged but the story devolved into nonsense. Was this supposed to be a supernatural story? Was it supposed to be a psychological thriller? Whatever. Hitchcock would have tossed it in the bin after the first reading. So many of the reviews give reference to Alfred. I think the master filmmaker would have taken one look and proclaimed: rubbish. Plain and simple.
