Steven Universe (2013)
Women can do what men can't
Just when you think that Cartoon Network has lost its touch, Rebecca Sugar tosses out a refreshing, original, and entertaining cartoon that truly brings me to tears. From its wonderful music to its simple yet fascinating artwork, Steven Universe is one cartoon that even the oldest of CN's fans would enjoy it.
First of all, the show is centered around Steven Universe, a young boy who must find a way to activate his gem, embedded on his bellybutton. Next to him are the Crystal Gems, female heroes that protect the world from evil through the power of their gems. Garnet, the cool and more calm of the Gems, Amethyst, the tomboy, and Pearl, the more gentle but, little bit serious Crystal Gem.
Overall, Rebecca Sugar's Steven Universe has left a nostalgic feeling in my heart. The characters are interesting, the music is amazing, the artwork is fantastic and the story is great. However, there is more to uncover seeing as how much they revealed on the series premiere.
Uncle Grandpa (2010)
What were they thinking...
I not going to lie, i was really looking forward to this show. The previews and 2007 pilot i found on Youtube had my hopes up but, like a Hippo going number 2, takes a huge @#1$ on my expectations!
I could feel my brain cells dying in there. What did Cartoon Network expect to get out of this! The premiere was down right awful and compared to the 2007 pilot, it looks like the writers and producers were high on crack than they were 6 years ago!
If you thought The Annoying Orange, Johnny Test(you heard me!), and Fried Dynamite was bad, then you clearly hadn't seen Uncle Grandpa. I won't spoil anything but, its just bad. Hopefully Steven Universe and Clarence won't be as rancid as Uncle Grandpa.
Bride of Chucky (1998)
Who thought this was a good idea?!?!?!?!
I absolutely, positively, hated this movie. I look at Child's Play 3(My favorite of the 5) and then i look at this. Bride of Chucky has to be the definition of bad, horrible, scat, and every swear word you can think of. First off, how could Chucky possibly, and i mean possibly, come back?!?!? In the end of Child's Play 3, we see him literally get shredded to bits and pieces. Just imagine a bomb going off on an allied soldier during the Invasion of Normandy. Although it may not get the point across, in short, parts of Chucky here, there and everywhere(bravo to those who caught the song reference). I also didn't quite enjoy the scar look. Chucky was just fine the way he looked in the first three movies so, why even change it. He was a lot more scarier as an innocent looking doll, and was able to get around. The way he looked in this movie just made me laugh. However, i did enjoy the kill scenes in this movie, particularly, the scene where they kill the cop. This is not the worst movie in series thats a fact because, an even more horrid movie awaits 7 years later.....
Maburaho (2003)
Not that bad
I happened to stumble upon this anime a long time ago with Time Warner Cable's On Demand(and back when it was awesome). Years later, I found this again on Youtube and I love it! It's interesting, funny, and quite cheesy at times. However, it also warmed my heart when it came to their touching moments in the series and quite frankly, no other has been able to do this yet(I'm male and 14 yrs old)! Despite all this, the plot seems to change after a few episodes as each episode seems to take a plot of its own instead of staying to the series story. It can really confuse many but, do let it stop you from watching it. In the end, Maburaho is quite entertaining and can feel rushed at times but, i can guarantee that most anime lovers will fall in love with this show!
The Amazing World of Gumball (2011)
It gets it right sometimes
The Amazing World of Gumball is a great show overall however, sometimes there will be episodes that down right suck. Their season 2 premiere, Colossal, wasn't that good and the have been times where i just sit there watching an episode and hate it for being on air. The best part about the show is it's humor. I have not seen a show with that much slapstick humor since Ed Edd n' Eddy. But, even comparing this to a classic is hard enough. The show doesn't really do a good job most of the time and just falls into a genre i like to call "Half-Baked" which in short means: a show that i like from time to time depending on: 1) How well the episode is 2) The way it is portrayed 3) I enjoy it
The Amazing World of Gumball isn't a bad show, it just that growing up from the early 2000's of Cartoon Networks life span, i expected more to come out from this point in time. Regular Show, Adventure Time, and this show are the only ones i can tolerate because they keep me interested and the mainly because the other shows really suck(This is my first review.
Johnny Test (2005)
They cancel great shows but,....
They can still afford to keep this abomination of cartoon kind!!! This cartoon should be in the underworld left to suffer! This show is just a summary of Dexter's Lab and Jimmy Neutron. I mean why!( i wish i could cap this) This so called "cartoon show" has horrible animation, horrible voice actors, makes parodies of movies, shows, and even itself, and worst off all it is till on air. Remember these shows: 1) Dexter's Lab 2) Camp Lazlo 3) Chowder 4) Courage the Cowardly dog 5) Any other show that was good and short lived
Do us all a favor Cartoon Network and kick that current president out of their and get the old one back!
