Lion of the Desert (1980)
A really great movie and highly underrated at IMDb!
hi, my thoughts on this movie getting such a low rating at IMDb really shocked me as it really deserved 9 out of 10 for its excellent screenplay and outstanding performance by the lead cast. Anthony Quinn blended into the Libyan desert like he was a Bedouin and nobody could recognize him had it not been for the casting! I was really fooled into believing that he was an actor of Arab origin or so. Highly recommended to all the good epic movie lovers out there. If you miss this one then you haven't seen much I guess. I got to see this movie upon my friend's insistence that I watch it. I wasn't much of an epic movie viewer but after seeing it I realized that there were more to movies than simple (summer movies) at the box office. The actors have done a great job with there acting.
Get 9 1/2 out of 10 from me.
Chacha Bhatija (1977)
Good potboiler movie of Dharmendra plus Randhir
This is a great all round movie starring the "garam dharam" with Randhir as his nephew. a very good movie featuring good comedy, action and the usual bollywood spice if u can get a good copy or maybe the DVD of this movie simply go watch it!
you couldn't expect a better movie like this from dharmendra. he has acted like a gem in this one. of course by the time this movie came you could easily see there were other movies from the Super-juggernaut force called Amitabh Bachchan who by that time had attained Superstar status and was far ahead of all the stars of that time and even today that juggernaut seems to wam! its way through all the stars of the 21st century!
Do Phool (1974)
This is one of the best comedies which got me rolling all over the place!
This has got to be one of the best Hindi comedies till date. In fact this movie was the basis for a big hit movie: 'Aankhen', *-ing Govinda-Chunky Pandey and directed by the current king of Hilarious movies, David Dhawan. The movie has the late Mehmood and the late Vinod Mehra giving their best performances in lead roles. The script was really cool and the direction was really great. The late and great Ashok Kumar or Dad Muni as he was popularly known was very good in a role that was custom made for him. Mehmood himself was superb in the two roles which he portrayed in the movie. All in all a great popcorn movie which has everything for the whole family.
Gets a ****1/2 out of *****
