I think this is a great concept and I thought it was genuinely funny. Haven't had a good belly laugh in a while and this is just what everyone needs at the moment. Don't believe the poor reviews; this is worth a watch.

Tomorrow, When the War Began
(2010)
Fantastic adaption.......congratulations!
8 August 2010
I've just finished watching the world premiere of "Tomorrow When the War Began" in Sydney with my son. We've both read the complete "Tomorrow" book series, which we loved - so we went expecting the movie to not live up to the book because movies generally don't, do they? Well, we were really pleasantly surprised as this movie is a wonderful adaption.
A great cast of "unknowns" become the characters we know and love. They did a fabulous job of capturing the essence of the book with the right balance of action, character development and teenage romance. It really is a fantastic effort and I would be very surprised if this film doesn't smash it at the box office.
We both wanted to sit there and watch it all over again!

The first HP movie which lives up to the book
11 July 2007
I really thought that HP and the OotP was fantastic! The cast are a little more polished and it was the first time I've left an HP movie without feeling like something significant was left out - that is, this really did justice to the book.
All the ancillary characters really make a wonderful contribution to the overall story - not just one-liners here and there. Luna Lovegood's empathy for Harry's situation and the way in which she brings a lightness to the situation with her unusual perspective on life was a lovely touch, and certainly provided a sense of fun to what was undoubtedly the darkest HP movie yet.
10/10 from me.

A wonderful development in the HP series
1 December 2005
Whilst it is impossible to cover everything J.K. Rowling fits into her magnificent books, the 4th HP movie was the best yet.
The teenage angst was captured perfectly, and there are a number of very funny scenes - as well as some scarier moments. For those who are familiar with the story the expectation of what's next to come will enable younger viewers to see it. If your little one hasn't had the book read to him/her I would probably get a babysitter - as the finally climatic scenes in the graveyard with "You-Know-Who" are a little more harrowing that we've seen before.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and will probably go again on the weekend. 10/10 (it just whetted my appetite to re-read the books)
