Lost (2004)
man against man, nature etc.
This is an answer to mnemosyne23.
There is also cooperation between man, nature, and ... self. This is why it is so interesting. And this is why they don't die immediately, you see.
They ask me TEN lines! They don't have enough junk on the Internet.
So: you can see that, practically, they have to cooperate to survive. The simplest cooperation, like, for example, making the list of survivors, leads to great successes, like, for example, the discovery of the fake passenger, who was also attacking them. The old man, the one that tries to open the metal door he discovers, has good abilities as a leader, but he becomes so scared that he looses reason, he becomes a believer in a new religion, as if the island is inhabited by gods (and the survivors just killed one god, in self-defense!, what sort of gods are these?). You see, they are all educated, they are coming from an advanced society, they are very heterogeneous (different from each other), and they can gain a lot from cooperation, and loose a lot from lack of it. Like our self destroying and self impoverished civilization. This is why the film is so attractive: it shows your own reaction to your own fears. I have seen this in many people, they practically lose reason only because they hear something they believe (sometimes wrongly) that it would put them in trouble with their hierarchical superior. They are crazy. And the ten lines are done. Send mail if you answer me.
