The Walking Dead: How It's Gotta Be (2017)
Who wrote this script? And more importantly, who approved it?
Absolutely ridiculous.
If you're so desperate to keep Negan alive, at least do it with a better storyline.
Season 7 opens with Negan brutally traumatizing Rick and his team. Negan spends the rest of the season tormenting all of them. Eventually Rick has enough, shakes it off and begins to work on stopping Negan. In the Season 7 finale, Rick and his team are caught. Rick and his son are on their knees in front of Negan and "Lucile." Negan is telling Rick he is going to kill Carl. Even then, Rick, with so much anger and determination, looks Negan straight in the eyes and tells him he's going to kill him. That's how much he hates him. Negan stands up and begins to swing his bat straight at Carl's head. However, the tiger jumping in interrupts him. Negan's forces are overrun and he and what's left of his team run.
Begin Season 8. Eventually they have Negan trapped in a building. He has absolutely nowhere to go. All they have to do is wait him out. Or hell, blow up the place. Now here's where the already terrible writing gets even worse. Negan comes out of the building and stands totally exposed!!! All they have to do is shoot him. And what does Rick do? He talks to him??? After everything Negan has done to all of them, after the bat was seconds away from his son's head, he talks to him??? WHO APPROVED THIS SCRIPT? The bat was coming down on Carl's head. Any father would have filled Negan's body with bullets right there. Later in the season, Rick has Negan's bat and is standing over Negan. All he has to do is swing the bat and kill him. What does he do? He hits him with the butt of the bat, stunning him for a few seconds. Terrible.
I understand why they want to keep the Negan character alive. These days, because of the terrible writing, his character is carrying the show. But at least do it with some intelligent writing. All we're seeing is lazy and incompetent writing. Whoever keeps approving this storyline needs to be fired. A show that used to be great, is now terrible. The last three seasons, I've waited till it was on Netflix so I could watch only the stuff that was interesting. This usually means I may have watched an eighth of the season. Basically just to see how it ends. Better writing desperately needed.
Supergirl: Resist (2017)
Terrible.
Not just teenage level writing, but immature teenage level writing.
Supergirl: Changing (2016)
Jimmy Olsen is the Guardian??? FOR PETE'S SAKE.
This is what I mean when I say the people making this show are lazy. JIMMY OLSEN IS NOT THE GUARDIAN!!! You want to have Jimmy become a vigilante, fine. But stop being so lazy, and make up a name for him. Don't just take another established character and give him a different identity. My god, how lazy are you people?
The Flash: The Once and Future Flash (2017)
Supergirl staff must be working here too. GROW UP!!!
Just one example of stupid writing is all I'll say, which also describes most of this season. In this episode Barry of the past finally decides to stay so he can reunite Team Flash. He goes to stop the bad guys. And what does he do? He confronts them and just stands there talking all tough, DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He knows what she can do just by looking at him. AND HE JUST STANDS THERE!!! Anyone working on this show, GROW UP!!! Absolutely ridiculous.
Supergirl (2015)
WHO WRITES THIS STUFF? SUPERGIRL STAFF - READ THE REVIEWS!!!
Attention directors, writers, producers, anyone who makes decisions on this show, GROW UP. One of the biggest disappointments of this show has been the lack of realism. Regardless of the audience you're trying to attract, you have to start being more realistic.
Lack of realism: Supergirl is pushing a car towards Metallo. He pushes back. Suddenly he looks up and Supergirl is standing on top of the car staring at him. DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Just looking down at him and waiting for him to blast her. Where is the realism? Did you just get lazy when it came to that part of the fight? It looks like Supergirl is just waiting for him to cower in fear simply because she's glaring at him.
Laziness: (1) The head of the DEO is Hank Henshaw, who is also J'onn J'onzz??? The creators of this show are that lazy that they couldn't just come up with a name for this particular character? Rather than create a character, you'll just totally change TWO established characters? J'onn J'onzz and Hank Henshaw are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. J'onn has been around forever. Regarding Henshaw, look up an unknown (Insert sarcasm here) storyline from the 90s called "REIGN OF THE SUPERMEN," which followed one of the most popular Superman storylines ever written, "Doomsday." Stop being so lazy and create a new name. Not that hard. (2) Draaga. Part of another two very unknown (sarcasm again) storylines. The first is where Superman has exiled himself in space, Draaga was top gladiator on a planet that lived only for the gladiator fights. The second, he was part of the "Panic in The Sky" story where he gave his life because of his respect for Supergirl. Here he's been reduced to an alien on earth fighting underground.
Mon-el watches Supergirl get blasted by some high tech weapon. He walks up behind the guy, turns him around to face him...and just stands there to be blasted himself???
Oh, and not all Luthor's need to have the first name start with an "L". Knock that shi...stuff off.
And stop having Supergirl walk with her hands/fists on her hips. It looks stupid.
And this whole tension thing between Superman and John is just plain stupid. If anyone would understand J'onn keeping kryptonite as a defense measure, it's Superman. Through out all of Superman lore, one of his biggest fears has been that he might lose control and become a danger to earth. He once even gave Batman a kryptonite ring to use against him if necessary. That's intelligent mature writing.
So much advice to give but I'll keep it short. Grow up. Get some consistency. Look up the word realism in a dictionary. Stop being so lazy.
The best advice for anyone doing comic book superheroes, big screen or little, is watch Batman Begins. One of the main reasons that movie was such a success is because it was done in a way in which you could almost believe it could happen. Harder with Supergirl I know, but that should always be the goal. The attempt is not even being made here. Who knows what the goals here are, but whatever they are, this show is terribly done. My guess is that the only reason this show has lasted this long is because people like me want to see DC superheroes on TV so we keep watching, despite how terrible it is. And unfortunately, that gives high ratings, but also the incorrect appearance that the show is good, which it definitely is not. The only reason I gave it a 3/10 is because of the good special effects. AND READ YOUR REVIEWS. There are very few positive ones.
