Chiller (1985)
A Fabulous Memory from My Childhood
Considering the circumstances and process of cryogenics and the impact that religion and belief systems have on an individual's actions throughout his/her life, this movie is intelligent, poignant and frightening in a realistic manner when considering though factors. Indeed, in the horror genre, most things are fantastically unbelievable, so the keep is to be opened minded when entering this and most any realm of fantasy.
I have loved this movie since I was a little girl. When I was about five or six years old in "85 or "86, this movie would come on TV quite a bit. It always came on really late at night. My mother and I loved it. I kind of thought that Miles looked like Robert Palmer. As I reflect on this movie, I feel that it along with Critters, Carrie and Christine (my fours C's or horror films), sparked the beginning of my love of the horror genre. I have searched for this movie for years. I had a hard time finding it, because I couldn't remember the name of it. Finally, I decided to do a search for "cryogenics, hell, mother, son, priest," and the movie came up number 4 in the search. Thanks IMDb!!!!!
The People's Court (1981)
Best Court Show
I loved this particular version of "The Peoples Court." I used to love Judge Wopner and Rusty. This show was so cool, because the people were all real. Their cases seemed real. They weren't trying to hype up things for TV.
The theme song is the coooooooolest. Its by Allan Tew. Its called the "The Big One." It's the best TV theme ever!!! Its over four minutes long. Its like Allan Tew just gets lost in the music. He becomes over come with passion as the song reaches crescendo after crescendo. He goes delightfully nuts. Its wonderful. You just don't here good original music like that anymore.
Arnold (1973)
Very morbidly funny
This is a great movie. Once you see, it really sticks with you. You almost never forget it. I saw it when I was 5 years old (back in 85') and I still remember it.I even remember the theme song. I found this movie on here, because I remembered the theme song.
The tape recorder in the coffin crept me out. The shower scene - gross, lol. I loved it. That theme song was just creepy. The one thing that I think that they should have done was let him have faked his death. That'd have been a great ironic twist. However, I guess the twist was that in most movies like that the person usually fakes his death. This one was different because he was actually dead.
Mackin' Ain't Easy (2002)
Best feature of the DVD edition
I love this documentary about the making of The Mack. It tells you the story behind the story. The most fascinating aspect of the documentary is learning about the conflict between the Ward brothers and the Black Panthers. It'd be nice to see Michael Campus and Harvey Bernhard do a movie about the Ward Brothers, especially since I heard there is a movie being done about the Stanley "Tookie" Williams and Dead Man Walking was also based on a true story. This piece also discussed Huey Newton and the Black Panthers in vast detail from their own personal experiences with them their involvement in the filming process. Willie Hutch! Willie Hutch's awesome scoring of the film was discussed. My favorite Usher song, "Superstar" contains a sample from from The Mack's Stroll which was written and composed by Willie Hutch.
