Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Bubble gum action film.
It's a 60s bubble gum music meets superhero movie. It's neither bad nor good. It doesn't leave me wishing for a sequel but I'd watch it if one were made. Both Woody and Tom play their roles respectively but there's little depth, which may be the reason I find the film to be so average. The script left little room for character development for these actors to shine. Venom might play better as a darker psychological thriller rather than the typical smash em up Marvel action movie. If contemplating whether to watch, don't watch this movie because you like Hardy or Harrelson, watch it because you like the genre.
Untold: Malice at the Palace (2021)
NBA should apologize
Excellent documentary. The NBA owes an apology to, at least, Jermaine O'Neal, Stephen Jackson, and the Indiana Pacers. Former Commish David Stern tried, convicted, and sentenced the players in an ESPN court of law without investigation. The media and NBA branded the black athletes as "thugs" rather than address the belligerent drunks that moved down from the upper decks. As for Ron Artest, society at the time lacked compassion and awareness of mental health problems. A must see for any basketball fan.
Thunder Force (2021)
Why?
I'm having a difficult time understanding why anyone thought it was a good idea to make this movie.
Godmothered (2020)
Hallmark movie
This is a notch above a typical Christmas Hallmark movie. Cheesy and feel good. Though not my style, it probably ranks a 9-10 for that genre.
Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series (2019)
The boys are still hanging strong.
It's a modern day Bevis and Butthead meets TPB. I was halfway through the first episode when I found myself a little embarrassed at the fact I was enjoying it so much. Sure it's raunchy and disturbing, but what else would you expect from TPB?
Iron Fist (2017)
This is just bad
As I'm writing this, I'm about to turn off the most painfully slow series I've ever seen in my life. If they made it a little worse, it could be cliche funny. It might get better but I'm not willing to waste another 52 minutes of my life to find out.....
....okay so I lied. I continued to watch until the end of the 1st season and now I can definitively say that this is the worst portrayal of a superhero EVER. If I were a cat I'd be dead because curiosity got the best of me with the Iron Fist.
