Danny Phantom (2003)
Okay show, but would be WAY better if...
For the record, I think this show is OK. Not good, not bad, just OK. I like the show develops like a comic (you always see a character reappear in the show), but I hated the way it ripped off Spider-man (see my other board somewhere around here). Here's some ideas IMO that I think would have less haters on it.
1: They should stop all the stupid humor. There was one episode that I forgot that this is from, that in the end, Danny says, "I guess one persons treasure, is another persons lunch. (everyone starts laughing)" ....um....wtf? The action and ideas are good enough as it is, humor like this only leads to being stuck with worse shows like Fairly Odd Parents, HiHiPuffiAmi Yumi, and some of that other crap (remember for all fans of these shows, this is all IMO, so don't bash me for it) 2: Stop all the stupid sound effects in the background. It is completely unesesary and annoying. The scenes themselves are good enough.
3: This doesn't really bother me and don't really care if they do this, but if they did, it would be a major plus in my book. Make the animation a little bit more detailed, which would make it uber awesome. Improoving/changing the animation does NOT mean changing it to anime-style. I've seen so many crappy anime and anime wannabe shows (ahem, LUNATICS) that has made me sick to my stomach. (IMO again) Just seeing this kind of animation reminds me of Fairly Odd Parents every time.
So yea, changing some of this (especially ONE AND TWO) would earn this show a bit better reputation and have a lot more people watching it. All except for the Spiderman ripoffs, I think the plots are great.
Overall, this is as good as Nick has to offer these days, so get used to it.
Shark Tale (2004)
And thus, the dawn of bad computer animated movies begins
I'm going to be honest, it wasn't bad, it was OK. JUST OK. Some scenes were funny while others were unnecessary. What I meant by "the dawn of bad computer animated movies begins," I mean that it was the first not good animated movie (from many people's points of views). Now, we get crap like Doogal, Hoodwinked, and I'm not too sure about it, but Cars isn't looking too hot. I could go on, but I don't want to ramble. The only good animated movies that I personally like and recommend are: Ice Age (gonna see Ice Age 2), both Shreks, and all the Disney Pixar movies they've made to date. This movie is good for fun and a couple of laughs, and not so easily forgettable. But I bet in 15 years, when people think of computer animated movies, they won't be thinking about Shark Tale.
Four Brothers (2005)
One of the best movies of 2005
Yes, we all know 2005 was a HORRIBLE movie year, but Four Brothers was one of the few surviving great movies of the year. This movie was a nice breathe of fresh air after such movies i'm disgusted to even mention.
This movie has superb action, drama, and acting, not your average action movie. The movie has characters that we can all get attached to. Even though the mother died in the beginning of the movie, they did a superb job, and it even seemed like a major jaw dropper too. Four Brothers is going on my shelf with the rest of my dvds, and this one should be with your collection too.
FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992)
Humor mostly for the kids but a message in it for all
I loved this movie when I was a kid, but I just watched this yesterday while babysitting my little sister. I'm a Robin Williams fan, looking forward to it's humor. Well, there wasn't too much I could relate to with the humor, but it was one of those movies where it had a message in a bottle. If you've seen this movie, then you already know what that message is. If your just watching this because it's a Robin Williams movie, maybe shouldn't watch it unless your a hardcore RW fan. Still a fun movie.
But the kids who believe in Fairy tales or fairys (especially girls) will eat this movie up.
A Night at the Roxbury (1998)
Misunderstood
If you think this movie sucks, well, it's really your opinion. But my opinion is that it's one of the funniest movies ever made. For those who disagree with me, it all depends on your taste. This movie is more of a weird/cheap humor kind of thing, and that's what a lot of people like. But a lot of people also like smart humor, in which this movie doesn't offer (that much). So this movie (and all other Saturday Night Live movies) are meant to be weird. It's funny to see how some people could act in real life. So people who's of weird and cheap humor, this movie is great! But for those of you smart alecs out there who like smart movies, this one (or any other Saturday Night Live) movie really should'nt be your pick 10/10
