The Legend of Hercules (2014)

I don't know the exact mythology, not half bad

*** I do not know all the correct mythology behind everything*** This movie wasn't bad in my eyes, but that may be partially because I am a fan of these types of movies, even when others are not. I do not know the mythology behind it which seems to be the major killer for most people. The one thing I do not like is that the scenes where there are fights, there is no blood or anything. People just sort of... fall over? It is very tame compared to movies such as 300.

Also, the story isn't really a story about the legend of Hercules, but it is a love story of how he wants to fight for Hebe. This is why I gave it such a poor rating. Film wise though, it wasn't bad it is just quite misleading saying it is about Hercules and his life.

Sex Drive (2008)

Actually not bad

Going into the movie, I was thinking this is going to be another disappointment in the sense of a crude comedy. It really wasn't that bad! It starts of with this guy, Ian, who is not a, lack for better words, 'ladies man'. He ventures online to find a girl to finally lose his virginity to, which takes him half way across the nation with his two friends. They run into a series of events that slow them down towards the meeting which actually add a lot of comedy into the movie. It is very predictable in the sense that he will fall in love with his friend, but there are many other twists and turns that you do not see coming. The movie overall to me is a solid seven and I would definitely watch it again!

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

Predictable

This is your everyday love story. The movie starts out with a guy (Bradley Cooper) in love with his 'wife' and trying to everything in his power to be back together with her. He is diagnosed with a mental illness with he finds his wife cheating on him with another man. Then things go downhill for the marriage... blah blah blah sappy love story. He meets Jennifer Lawrence and she 'tries' to help him get back together. They fall in love. Typical love story here. It was a decent story behind it all, but all of it seemed so predictable. You could essentially tell the whole movie from after 30 or so minutes. I wish they would throw some curve balls in these types of movies. The only decent thing in the movie is the acting and Bradley Cooper almost brought that down with his dancing. Overall I gave it a 6/10.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)

Doesn't stick to the book

The movie overall was not terrible. I gave it a rating of three because it does not stick to the book what so ever. After reading the book I was very excited to see the movie and it was a huge disappointment. There are many things that are missing from the movie that are huge parts of the book. The areas are completely different. The three pearls are not needed to be found, they are given to them. Hades is not the bad guy throughout the book. It is just completely off. Also, they big fight with the chimera, the beginning where no one knows Percy's father is Poseidon. I felt like the director did not even read the books. It was a shame to watch and I hope that the rest of the series is a bit better than this one.

FIFA 14 (2013 Video Game)

Great Game

This is the best FIFA game to date. It seems to be the complete package. It is great from Ultimate Team to Career to playing online. There really are no downfalls to the game.

Everything seems to be even in the sense that there is nothing that is TOO overpowered like in the old FIFA games with speed abuse. This game deserves to be the most sold sports title of the year due to how realistic it has become.

If you are into sports games, I would completely recommend this game to you even if you do not like soccer. It will make a non-soccer fan turn into a soccer fan in my eyes.

The Colony (I) (2013)

Good Overall Story - Could've been done better

This movie overall deserves more than what it is currently rated. I gave the film a 7 because it does show the side of humanity that gets ugly and realistic. People will do anything to survive and that seems to be portrayed throughout most of the movie. The realistic-ness of which could happen if the world were to become apocalyptic was pretty spot on in the sense that colonies could form and so on... The negatives were that it was pretty predictable for the majority of the movie, although there are little twists and turns. The movie really isn't as bad as everyone is saying it is, it just doesn't have the one hundred million dollar budget as other movies do to make it seem that much better. I would recommend watching this is you like post-apocalyptic type movies.

The Samaritan (I) (2012)

Pretty good compared to what was expected

The Samaritan was surprisingly good in the sense that it had a pretty well drawn out story line and that the characters all seemed to make sense. There were quite a few twists and turns in the movie that seemed to drastically change the story - in a good way. The one huge plot twist was very big, but you can possibly see it from close to the beginning if you really pay attention to the details. I rated this movie a 7/10 because I feel as if Samuel L. Jackson could have done a bit better, but the female role was done extremely well. I would give her a 10/10 for this movie. As I said, this movie was actually a lot better than I had expected it to be.

Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown (2011 Video)

Terrible

After watching the first movie, Never Back Down, I was extremely excited to see this movie.

That's about all the excitement that I had was the anticipation...

The acting is terrible, the lines are cheesy, and the movie is extremely predictable.

The only up to this film is that it made itself into a comedy for me and my friends to have jokes about for a couple weeks and to mock.

I was surprisingly disappointed by this one and would never think to watch it again. There is too much wrong in this film and they completely destroyed the reputation of the first movie as much as I had enjoyed that one.

Hammer of the Gods (2013)

Not very connected

From the beginning of the movie until the very end, the movie was not very connected what so ever. It seemed very forced at how they tried to put everything into the movie.

It you like gore and action, the movie will at least hold your attention like it did mine. Other than that, if you don't I would not recommend this movie to you.

The movies plot did not seem to have a great story behind it and that is the main reason that I believe this movie flopped. I think it could have been much better with a different story line behind it other than a man trying to find his brother to become the king.

The movie overall has some twists and turns, but is very predictable at the end.

The Butler (I) (2013)

Good Movie

This movie in my eyes is worthy of an eight out of ten. Although supposedly not completely historically correct it was still a very good film. I have a feeling that the ratings are from some of the people who are not too found of other people's skin colors and it is more deserving than the 6.6 it currently has. I would recommend this movie to almost anyone and it is very emotionally drawing. It shows the rough times in the old days and does it in a very convincing way. I am very happy that I went to see this movie. It is very easy to see the movies like Malcom X or a documentary about MLK, but this shows the age of major racism in a completely different way and that if you work hard towards things you can almost achieve anything. Very good morals behind the movie.

This Is the End (2013)

Decent at best

This movie was not as funny as people had hyped it up to be. There were too many big name actors in it to be as bad as it truly was. The humor was decent at best (I know it is subjective), but there were some funny parts. Overall it is a 6 in my book because it was not what it was said to be for me. The movie had too much of a religious background and it was all condensed into the very end of the movie. They could have made the movie a lot better if they would have kept the movie going as the beginning had started. The beginning was the best part of the movie and then they tried to tie in too much of a story about saving yourself and everything towards the end. Also, they made it seem as if you can do one thing and then be saved. They all had been saved the same way essentially besides "Jay" and that made it seem if you sacrifice yourself no matter what essentially you will be saved according to the movie. Just was decent at best for me.
