24: Legacy: 11:00 p.m.-12:00 p.m. (2017)
That's not how you end a season of 24
The storyline is made in a way to just fill in the blanks. TV shows like this are forced to end it on time. The show is called 24 they couldn't end it in 11hrs. This was one of the worst episodes.
What was horribly directed was the dialogue between Nassiri and his daughter. They were supposed to speak Arabic but that was not Arabic. It was like reading Arabic subtitle which is translated from English. Very poor and cheap!
The show was done in 2017! They could have done better job. Bin Khalid was speaking better Arabic but the rest of his team should have been also good in Arabic.
I wish Jack Bauer was back.
24: Legacy (2016)
Not the 24 you know!
If you have watched the original series with Jack Bauer you will understand this is not the same one. It lacks action and is full of drama and mistakes. I literally felt i wasted my time watching it. They could have done better. The scenario and the characters are not strong enough. A lot of times it is easy to catch the bad guys. This is not how we saw the original 24 series.
A lot of prediction can happen and it really needed a better story. You can understand what they say but nothing made sense to me for the whole 10 episodes I watched. I wasn't expecting Jack but Eric was not the replacement I would have chosen.
Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Too long. Could be shorter
For over 3hrs 26min you would be watching a good movie played by two legends: Leo and De Nero. However, the dialogues and chitchats are too long and could have been shorter. If you have time watch it, but, in my opinion, don't make time for it. I almost slept during the movie. The movie is showing some historical facts and you would appreciate the make of it. But I was expecting more from Scorsese as it could have been made differently using more unexpected events. It was somehow predicted throughout the movie. It was rated 15+ which made sense to me. It could have been nearly a 2hr movie and still sends the message.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
A Huge Disappointment
A huge disappointment. I don't think of any other title to describe what I watched. No real story. It felt like I am watching an episode of a long-running series. The repetition of fight scenes did not make any link to the original Matrix. I did not enjoy watching it. It ruined all The Matrix legacy.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Read if you didn't watched it...some spoilers
I believe they did a good job making this movie by getting the other Peters together. There were few scenes where the conversations and dialogues are longer than it should be. I also think they did lousy job of ending the legal trials and public exposure of Peter Parker being spiderman. At the beginning of the movie you see it to be the most important topic. You wait to see the whole movie is about it but it ends by a superhero blind lawyer who just had a 1-min scene at the middle of the movie.
I loved it and i think it is worth watching.
The Guilty (2021)
An Average
A redo of another movie produced in 2018. Same story well-played by Jake Gyllenhaal but it was disturbing that you keep visualizing what is happening behind the phone call. They could have at least shown something more.
The Last Thing He Wanted (2020)
I hope this be the first movie i forget!
Where shall I start? The beginning seemed to be a political movie about journalist and politicians. Then the troubled father cane in picture. All of a sudden, the whole story is about the father's work. Then a mix if the journalist agenda and the father's work. Then the politicians came back.
If you manage to understand the above, you WILL like the movie. If you are lost (as everyone else is) then welcome to the club!
Rating of 1 star is beyond what this movie deserves.
I, Robot (2004)
2004 Robots
A great movie of Robots and technology that was made in 2004. A great performance of Will Smith and I can say it's a very typical one: thinking outside the box, doesn't like to be controlled, speaks his mind without hesitation, laughs and apologizes when he wants to insult someone! Very typical Will Smith. I watched it 3 tines.
Hancock (2008)
Kind of a Sequel ?
Have you ever watched a movie that was a sequel before watching the prequel? Well, this is exactly how I felt about Hancock. It starts with a scene where it shows you scenes for the first time without putting some history on it. Not a very interested movie. If you want to waste some time, watch it. If you didn't watch it, you didn't lose anything.
Bright (2017)
Too fragile scenario
Watched it for Will Smith. But disappointed by the story. A very typical racism/anti-racism story. It doesn't put more than that. I only enjoyed watching Will Smith acting but nothing more.
Triple Frontier (2019)
2 hr too long
For a 2hr long movie, this is too long. Long silent scenes were unnecessary and you become aware of what will happen next at the middle of the movie.
It could have been better with more history of who every character is to add more taste to the movie.
Black Mirror: San Junipero (2016)
It IS a typical Black Mirror episode
It is about technology even if you don't see this right away. Yorkie is passing through '87 to '80 then '97 and 2002 shows a great deal of passing through time with some sort of "time machine"; which is by using virtual reality technology!
Again how much we are hooked up on the technology and living parallel lives: virtual reality augmented reality etc.
It is a typical Black Mirror episode and pretty much a good one too. It could be a movie.
When a dead Yorkie at the end says "it's real" it is the very definition of virtual reality and virtual life. Especially when Kelly explains the REAL life she had with her husband Richard and daughter Alison. She explains the difference between Virtual and Real.
There is also a link between many episodes with this one for the use of the plug on the head which we have seen in other episodes of seasons 1 and 2.
Secret Obsession (2019)
Where to start? Please read... spoiler alert
So:
1-The hospital allows Russel to see his wife (Jennifer) with no ID to prove that he is her husband and only a picture is enough despite the fact that a detective is looking after this case.
2-Jennifer is smart enough to unlock the door of the bedroom TWICE with a hair clip but Russel couldn't even try.
3-Russel believes after he killed Jennifer's ENTIRE FAMILY that she would forgive him and she "realized his "love" to her" and they will be together.
4-Russel left her father and mother DEAD in their house which could be a problem for him if someone found them and reported the crime.
5-Jennifer is walking faster upstairs and in the house than Russel while her leg is injured.
6-How does a tattoo of the letter A means Allen and the detective only notices that so he could find Jennifer's house address?
7-Shall I continue?
Arrival (2016)
A little disappointed
I enjoyed the movie it has a lot of mysterious things to see. It takes a while to understand what is really going on but it is a movie you would like to see.
One disappointment: when they show an Arabic TV channel broadcasting, the Arabic language is written wrongly. I am not saying it didn't make sense, it was wrongly written. As this movie is talking about universal language, it disappoints me to see the mistake done here. People are watching movies around the world, we watch these movies and we would like to see it done properly. It is not only shown in US or Europe. Even there, there are a lot of Arabs. It should have been carefully considered. And it's on Netflix! So!
Dark Was the Night (2014)
A Disappointment ! (Contains Spoilers)
It could have been better.
The story should have started a year before. Then should show the lives of the people of the town today. This way we can understand the emotional depression of Paul because he lost his son Tim.
It talks about evil coming in the dark, but more than 60% of the movie happens at daylight.
CGI is used and hence the disappointment.
A lot of the dialogues are not related to the movie's idea.
It is shorter than it should have been.
The evil thing is moving and running very fast however it doesn't make enough noise which doesn't make sense.
It could have been better.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt (2019)
Can't wait to see S04
No not the American
Is one if the last sentences you hear at the end of the episode. Which could just mean that Hopper is still there.
This is one episode that you can't stop watching.
I love how it shows everyone has a part of saving the world and how it really shows that no matter small or big you are, you actually complete the team.
10/10 definitely.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer (2017)
Best Ending of an Episode Ever
Spoiler Alert:
El's entry at the end summarizes the whole beauty of the episode.
House of Cards: Chapter 73 (2018)
Not as I was expecting
It looks to me as the director NEEDED to end the series but couldn't figure out how. So he had to end it in the oval office with Claire killing Doug.
However, it is NOT a "House of Cards" ending.
It should have a different ending.
And I strongly believe the whole season 6 is different because Frank (Kevin Spacey) was not in the show.
At least I saw it all! 6 seasons.
The Perfection (2018)
I was wrong!
I was expecting something but this movie is something else. You have to watch it and pay little attention to some details. I originally rated it 7/10 but then changed it to 8/10. I would recommend it.
8MM (1999)
Even after 20 years
I just watched it for the first time. It has a twisted reality that would really put you in a different state of mind. It shows a lot of under the ground lives of some sick rich monsters. One of the best Nicolas Cage performances. Worth watching indeed.
Evil Genius: The True Story of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist (2018)
A perfectly edited documentary
Well done Netflix!
I rarely watch crime documentaries, but this one pulled my attention to watch the 4 episodes at once with no breaks. The start till the end was well documented and the end of each episode was literally pushing me to watch the next one. Hearing real-life criminals talking about what they did and did not is a different experience than watching a Hollywood movie. A must watch.
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)
Predictable but definitely worth watching
It is a typical MI movie. More car chases more actions. I definitely recommend watching it 3D if you have the chance. I can say they bring some memories and people from previous MI movies which made it more interesting.
How It Ends (2018)
20min to The End of it
You spend more than 1:30hrs watching just how human brutality arises because of the "chaos" that was caused by something that you imagine throughout the movie but never figure out what it is. But at least they didn't use photoshopped pictures. Sam's reaction to her father's death was less dramatic than it should have been.
Echo Effect (2015)
Waste of time & money
You learn from this movie that 3 bullets on two men would never hit them. The shooter is a well-muscled police officer! And one bullet would pass the wall and marbles 3 times without bending or changing direction and still fatally hit your enemy: who is also a giant man! Wait: the man who was supposed to be beaten down and tied up doesn't have any dirt on his shirt nor pants!...
A Quiet Place (2018)
Good horror movie
It has been a while since I've watched a movie that keeps you awake and alerted. The concept if you have to keep silent is thrilling. Even in a movie theater you start to get scared from the sound of your friend's popcorn! A must watch!
