Superman: Brainiac Attacks (2006)
How is Lex Luthor alive??
First and foremost, I understand that this is an animated movie, but I mean seriously are you really going to sit there and say that Mercy beat up Jimmy Olson to the point she puts him in the hospital with her bare hands. Lex on the other hand, gets beat up by Brainiac (stomped on, slapped down the road, etc.) and he's barely got a scratch?? Lex is the most terrible Lex Luthor ever. Doesn't even come off as intelligent, just sounds more like money than knowledge. One of the more annoying themes that the Daily Planet characters kept bringing was the thought that Kent MIGHT be Superman. Like holy f-word, how is this not so obvious. Like captain obvious couldn't make it more obvious. Overall, this movie is good to fall asleep to.
Justice League: Doom (2012)
One of the better Stories
I have no complaints about the idea of this story; I just wish the writers would have taken more time with the villains and like a comment made in another review, some of the superheroes should've been taken out. Batman is the standout. The last scene between him and Superman, Respect 101. I read on other reviews, how this movie was dark and violent. First off, the villains (mirror master, star sapphire, bane, especially bane) cannot be taken seriously. Batman, cut Banes blood tube and he's a non factor. Terminator BKA Metallo, womp womp womp. Secondly, other JLA movies (JL: War) were waaaay more petty, violent, political, etc.
This movie really stands out because it sticks to the story, rather than buy into the politics that JLA Movies. One of my personal favorites. Better villains would make this a way better movie. Overall shows the Justice Leaguers growth as a team.
Definitely worth seeing!
Venom (2018)
Just needs to be Rated R.
First and foremost, with a name like 'Venom' it should be an automatic.
Now I'm coming out of the theatre, and I have to say that characters usages and also their personalities made this even more enjoyable for me. You see Eddie Brock as this arrogantly confident guy, who turns out to be sorta selfish and then is infected with something he knows of, but really does not know its capabilities. Once he starts to interact with the abilities he becomes situationally scared. In retrospect you have the LyfeFoundation dude, who believes in being better than what he believes the human species is. Throughout the movie he is trying to understand what he has found. By humanities standards, he is very cruel and ruthless with his methods. Scientifically, he would be considered groundbreaking by many. A life-form that can use a human as a host, heal the host (or kill the host), and communicate mentally and as an outside form. Hmmmm
Also, this is the first time I can remember seeing the hero/anti-hero being 2 separate things that work together as one. Most super hero's are either alien themselves, something crazy made them that way, born with their superpowers. Venom is a living species that talks to Eddie through the film.
So yea, I may have went on a text rant, but hey, at least you read it. Venom is a great movie, needs an R-Rated version.
*Line of the Film: when the organism dies and Carlton Drake gets upset with his set and says "How could you just stand there and let the superior species die; how selfish!"
