I just watched it on Amazon Prime.
I thought this was going to be unwatchable bad, but I chose to watch this because I was curious, I wanted to know how they could have a whole movie about a Cyclops during the Roman Empire.
I was pleasantly surprised, the story didn't just revolve around the Cyclops, we have a little bit of back stabbing politics, Centurions, Gladiators, slave revolts, and of course the Cyclops.
The Cyclops is terrible CGI but I think that was standard for this kind of movie at the time. The Cyclops wasn't all CGI either, they had an actual foot and hand for some close ups.
Overall it worked for me, I wasn't expecting high budget, or realism either, I have no complaints of the acting either, it's not like the way it was filmed would allow for, the actors to imagine what life was really like back then and how the situation they were in would really affect their character.
Other sci-fi/monster CGI films around this time I think are hit and miss from unwatchable to so bad it's good, Cyclops actually turned out to be quite watchable with characters you can, I won't say care about but instead follow along.
