You Are Not My Mother (2021)
scared the **** out of me!
Great movie that can be slow at times but i was on edge the entire film. The actress that played the mother was incredible and genuinely scared me. This movie left my almost sleepless with fear from the "scary" scenes. Unnerving film and highly recommend.
Sex and the City: Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl... (2000)
Straight up homophobic
Yes the show was made in the early 90's and the world has really progressed since then but come on. Each character was unbelievably biphobic and disrespectful, even Samantha. Disappointing episode.
Sex and the City: What's Sex Got to Do with It? (2001)
Biphobia appears again
Wow the biphobia in this episode is just unreal. Carrie and the girls can't believe that Samantha is in a relationship with a woman because she's been with so many men, and assume she's now lesbian- as if being bisexual doesn't exist! Granted, the show was made in the late 90's/ early 2000's but the girls seem to think the only sexualities are straight or gay. They are unbelievably judgmental and it's hard to watch.
The Call (2013)
brilliant edge of your seat thriller
I absolutely loved this film! I was full of anxiety the whole way through, barely able to watch i was so scared! A very unique take on a kidnapping film and it paid off. Definitely watch this if you love a thriller. Brilliant acting and the tension was incredible.
Pramface (2012)
Heartbroken it was cancelled
Pramface is a show i constantly go back to rewatch. The actors are brilliant and the show is well written. The characters are hilarious and work brilliantly together. One of the BBC's best shows i highly recommend you give it a watch!
Some Girls (2012)
A must-watch show!
The BBC have some brilliant series' online but Some Girls is one of their best ever. Absolutely hilarious, wholesome and entertaining show! You will love all of the characters, only problem is i wish that there was more seasons!
After (2019)
I'm sad to say- don't bother watching
I went into this film with an open mind however i could barely make it through the first 30 minutes. The acting is awful and the whole thing is beyond cringeworthy. As someone who's read the book as a teenager i loved it, as an adult i realise how truly bad it is.
Hardin is a toxic and controlling boyfriend and these types of characters shouldn't be in mainstream cinema for young girls to watch. We shouldn't glorify him and make him out to be some bad boy with a good heart. No he is controlling of Tessa and straight up abusive. Give this film a miss.
It's a Sin (2021)
Heartbreaking and perfect
Where to start! As someone who previously loved all of Russell T. Davies work i was beyond excited for this one. If you've seen Cucumber and Banana you'll love this! I fell in love with every single character and felt like i was on the journey with them.
Episode 3 and 5 particularly will rip your heart out and leave you grieving for days. I cannot stress this enough- watch this show!!! As a female born in the 90's i didn't know enough about the subject of aids and i'm so glad i do now.
Be prepared to have your heart broken but have the time of your life at the same time!
Swallow (2019)
Definitely give it a watch!
I went in to this movie expecting a thriller, however the movie is more of a slow burn physiological drama. It's honestly an interesting watch and definitely entertaining. I wouldn't watch it again but i thoroughly enjoyed the film!
Some scenes are hard to watch if you don't like blood or pain, which i don't but overall a good film! I recommend it.
