Knives Out (2019)
Stop reading reviews and watch this movie, now.
At first, I thought this was a typical, "who done it" movie, fortunately for me, I was wrong, it was better, much better.
I am so glad I took the chance to watch this movie so much so that I'm going to binge-watch the others.
Everything from the story, the twists, the acting, the writing, the ambiance, and the central location where most of the movie was centered, right down to the furniture and props, was well done.
Would I suggest this to a friend? Yes.
Would I watch it again? Yes.
I haven't seen a movie this good in a long time and I watch movies almost every day. Again, wow, what a movie...
No Country for Old Men (2007)
Great Movie, But...
Great movie but... like many movies nowadays, it didn't seem like they had the slightest clue how to end it so they just finished off all the characters and then ended it, no closure, nothing.
It was like the writer saw something shiny which distracted him three-quarters of the way through the movie. You get the impression that when the writer came to the end of the story, he just handed it to the janitor to finish. Once the janitor had the script he passed it on as complete because the plugged toilet he was working on was more important.
Don't get me wrong, it's a very good movie, a compelling movie. This movie will definitely get you sucked into thinking it's great until the disappointing end comes.
I gave it an undeserving 4, but only out of politeness for the fact that the acting, production, and cinematography was impressive, but the disappointing end negates the greatness of the rest of the movie.
Would I recommend someone watch this movie, NO way, don't waste your time. To be honest, I was furious with the ending. Not because of what happened to the characters in the movie, but because of how it left off.
Would I ever watch this movie again? NO.
Tape 407 (2012)
If I could un watch this movie I would.
You don't even have to bother with my review, just take my word for it and look for something else to watch.
This movie was horrible, it was shot like Blair Witch, with one camera being held by an actor for the entire movie. It could have been better if they wrote a camera gimble into the script, even a teenager can afford a cheap one.
Not only did it seem as if the movie was shot by someone having a seizure, but to make it worse, once the plane crashed and the action started, it was shot in the dark until a minute before the end of the movie. >insert eye roll and head tilt here<
On top of the movie being frustrating to watch because of the brilliant cinematographic Blair Witch shaky cam technique, the acting was subpar at best and that's being generous.
Don't get me wrong, Abigail Sharader who played the little girl Trish, and Samantha Belen who played Jessie her sister or friend were acceptable. All of the other actors were subpar at best. And that's being kind. Probably the best actor of all was the Stewardess.
This movie will make you NEVER want to be around a woman in an emergency as all the women did at the absolute worst time was scream and blubber on no matter how quiet they were told to be. That incessant screaming alone made me not want to finish the movie.
If I were one of the men with them I would have taken the gun from the woman air marshal and run off myself and stood a far better chance.
Also, seeing the odd reaction they got from the first "rescuer" and then the second one, made it clear to me exactly how the movie was going to end. I was right.
Frustrating cinematography, bad acting all around, and easy to predict. If I could give the movie a negative rating I would.
If could give the Stewardess a seperate rating I would give her 9.9 P.s. If the Stewardess is reading this; call me.
Observance (2015)
Don't waste your time.
First off, the actors are good despite the script. The movie itself is very very very slow and nothing seemed to make sense.
Then, when you come to the end and think things are finally going to make sense, it ends leaving you with even more questions and no sense of understanding what just happened or why it ended the way it did.
This movie seems to have the same problem that many other movies have, bad writing or a jaded or disinterested writer who just wants to pump out a dud every now and then just to make a quick buck off of his or her name alone.
It appears that no one knew or cared how to end it so they did the last thing anyone would expect in hopes that alone might make for a good ending. In some movies an unexpected twist works, in this case, it didn't because it made no sense and didn't answer the fifty billion other unanswered questions either.
This movie is a HUGE WASTE OF TIME, and what's worse is that there are many other bad movies out there that you might actually like simply because they have some scene or dialogue that you can't appreciate, this movie had nothing.
I'm sorry to leave such a timid review, and I didn't mean to sugarcoat it as I did. Maybe next time I will really tell you how I feel.
Black Garden (2019)
Don't waste your time.
This is like many other bad movies, it has potential to be a good movie, but at no time do they seem to care about character or plot development.
It seems as if someone with a go pro just walked up to a complete stranger in a bar and asked them to write a movie, did everything in one take, and somehow got it in the system.
Furthermore, like many bad b movies, whoever did write it clearly had no ideas on how to end it. Nothing is worse than comming to the end of the movie and wonder what the heck was the writer thinking.
Unfortunately, If you think the movie might make a point or have a coherent end, or be cathartic in any way, you will be extremely disappointed.
Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't waste your time with this one.
The Outer Wild (2018)
Hate men much?
If you're looking for a movie to help you spread extreme fear of and hatred for men, you're in luck because this movie is one of the most anti-male movies I have ever seen.
Basically, the plot is, there is something wrong with society, the women are in a better place away from men, and to cure men of their "problem" they need to be shot dead. All the men in the movie are basically sick and evil, and the one guy who seems to be ok needed to be shot and killed to be a better man
Wow, you can bet if someone dared to make this move with the roles reversed it never would have been allowed to be created in the first place much less shown.
