3 Body Problem (2024)
Amazing show, but the directing is GoT on repeat.
"3 Body Problem" on Netflix, from the creators of "Game of Thrones," boasts a captivating premise and stunning visuals, drawing audiences into a richly imagined sci-fi universe. However, akin to the criticisms of its predecessor, the series suffers from pacing issues and questionable character decisions. While the intricate plot keeps viewers engaged, some character arcs feel rushed or underdeveloped, leaving audiences longing for more depth. Yet, the breathtaking special effects and thought-provoking themes ensure a thrilling ride, even amidst its flaws. With a blend of mystery, suspense, and a touch of existential dread, "3 Body Problem" remains a must-watch for sci-fi enthusiasts, despite its occasional missteps.
The Protector (2018)
No super hero
Watching the first season, but really not impressed. The acting is bad, the dialogue even worse. Stupid actions with stupid camera shots... why the hell would you show pressing the gas pedal pumping when driving away fast in a van... it's not FF.
It's just a bad drama series with someone having a special shirt that's almost never used and certainly not in a super hero way. He's supposed to be invincible, but he never uses his power and runs away scared when in trouble. It probably doesn't help either that I have to watch this show in English dubs. I wouldn't be watching it if I couldn't do other things while the show is on.
House of the Dragon: Second of His Name (2022)
GoT action-like
This is the best episode by far. Maybe it's not saying much with only three episodes in this first season, but it's looking good.
Beautiful cinamatography, worthwhile dialogues and plenty of actions like we are used to from Game of Thrones. I wish they'd put a little more effort in the CGI with the dragons from afar. It doesn't at all feel like a lower budget series. Not sure about the writing though, because multiple storyliness are finding eachother a bit too fast.
The contours of the struggles of the internal succssion of House Targaryen are becoming more visible with a lot of wanting vs not wanting to take responsibilitie for their natural born rights. The casting seems all to close in age, even though the characters do have a bigger age difference on screen. Makes it feel the writers are not to sure about extending the seasons in a way Game of Thrones was able to do. Milly Alcock as the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen is finally comfortable in her roll on screen it seems. I didn't like her too much in the first two episodes, but now she shines.
Really looking forward to see what the rest of the season will bring.
Resident Evil (2022)
Not all bad
Very weak beginning with a strong ending. Too bad it's a teenage drama, too. Maybe I'm too old already to enjoy this, but if this is the start for a future audience, it will do. CGI could be better and the logic was missing a lot of the time, but the ending made up for it... watch it till the end.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: It's Bubbly Time, Jerry (2012)
Laughing and crying
I just finished watching the nine seasons again. I'm full of joy and sadness for its ending, but also for what happend to Kramer in real life. He made a mistake. He is human and regrets making it. He's broken himeself when he should be fix others who are broken through his comedy. Seeing them together is wonderful.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Excellent start
I wasn't sure if the show was going to be on the real "Marvel" level, but it definitely is. Good action, good character development.... can't wait for the next episode.
Osmosis (2019)
It's been done before
Nothing much to say about this one. Too bad Netflix is obligated to make French content, because it shows (not very good). Maybe not much the same but it feels like a boring version of The OA.
