Kapoor & Sons (2016)
Beautiful, entertaining, realistic - so far the best Bollywood film of 2016
This has to be the best Bollywood film so far in 2016, beating others like Airlift, Neerja and Fan. OK, I am going to do my best trying not to spoil it. Songs, acting and story was some of the best points of the film. Fawad Khan - excellent. Alia - Really Good. Sidharth - Amazing. Ratna - superb. Rajesh - exceptional. But my praise goes to the one and only Rishi Kapoor, hilarious! The direction and story by Shakun Batra is original and magnificent. The film is a family movie which blends different genres beautifully.
Go for it! Worth the money and time! Actors were great, story direction as well
Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)
The best movie of 2015!!!
To start things off, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is about a mute girl who gets left in India. Luckily, there is a huge-hearted man to help her get home. Acting: All four actors are really good in their roles. Nawazuddin outdoes himself - again. As Chand the reporter, he is terrific as a slightly-comic supporting character. As well as the little girl, she is adorable! Kareena Kapoor has a minimum role but does well. But finally, the real star...... Salman Khan! He produced this, so he knew this character, which help him perform a brilliant performance. The best thing about Bajrangi Bhaijaan is that every scene makes you want to watch more, like in the cinema, at the interval. Another thing to point about is that the film has a bit of all ; comedy, romance, drama, action. The most touching scene in the whole two and a half film is the last five minutes of the climax. Beautiful! Thirdly, the movie is very original, there is no movie like it in the Twenty-first century. Fourthly, this is a movie Salman has never done. He normally does the same action movie again and again. But , the choice to do this movie was his best in his career. Finally, songs like Bhar Do Jholi and Tu Jo Mila stays with you for the rest of the WEEK! But the film stays with you for the rest of the MONTH!
Overall, all credit goes to Kabir Khan. Without him, the film would be AS good as it is. In basic words, let you and your family to watch this movie!
It's Entertainment (2014)
Sajid-Farhad has done it once again with Entertainment, making a funny, CLEAN FAMILY film with a touching message!
First of all, with performances, Akshay does it again, making a comic role more comic! He is very funny, along with Johnny Lever (or should I say "Habibullah"!) OMG, Johnny Lever blew me away, he was ssssssooooo funny and another amazing performance from him. Krushna was funny as a supporting character. Honourly mentioning Mithun. He has some funny lines which he says hilariously. Some nice cameos from Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade and Remo D'Souza. Sonu and Prakash are funny as the film's antagonist. Basically, everyone was funny and good.
I'm impressed by Sajid-Farhad. The directorial debut and it's so good, They're going to direct Housefull 3 next year, ICW (I can't wait)! The good side of Entertainment is it's story is easy to know as the film goes along. Another thing is at times, the script directed the story to a Humshakals-route and make the ending of the film as silly and plot less Humshakals was. But they managed it be aware and take a U- turn and keep away from it all the times it almost happened. But the bad side of that is that some gags were like the Humshakals gags, humorless, stupid and nothing! Fortunately, the rest of the gags, jokes and funny bits attempt to shadow the Humshakals gags and is 85% success.
Watch Entertainment, it will 100.0000000000001% change your day!!
Happy New Year (2014)
Happy New Year Review: A Family Comedy perfect for yours.
Let me first tell you Happy New year is about 6 "losers" go through a dance championship just to steal a handful of highly-worthful diamonds.
Abhishek Bachchan. Just that. He utterly smashed his performance and superglues you to your seat. His famous quote in the movie was "Nandu Bhide, Demak na firee" (I'm Nandu Bhide and I've lost my mind!) He more than makes up for the 175 minute duration due to his quote and what he calls -world famous- snake dance. two other people entertained us in the movie, Boman Irani and, of course, Shah Rukh Khan.
The Heist plan in the film is well planned out and the film is full of twists and surprises into the second half. The first half tells us their ride up the mountain and the second half tells us how they go down. The first half length is fine but the second half is stretched too far, no kidding. But the second half did have more funny moments than the first half, unpredictability and Nandu Bhide, so it doesn't keep you bored. The film does have lots, I mean lots, of special appearances and the introduction scene to everyone are really funny.
The climax may be predictable to some while others won't have a clue, and finally Manwa laage, the best song in the album. Deepika comes 50 minutes into the film with "Lovely".
So Happy New Year Directed by Farah Khan and Starring Shahrukh, Deepika, sonu, abisheik, boman & Vivaan is WORTH A WATCH. 8/10 stars (4/5 stars)
Chennai Express (2013)
Entertainment
Chennai Express, starring Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul, a Mumbai singleton, and Deepika Padukone as the daughter of a Tamil Nadu crime don, opened on the holiday of Eid Aug. 8 on a record 3,500 screens in India and 700-plus screens abroad, including 196 in the United States, reportedly one of the largest global releases ever for an Indian film. Its broad comedy will appeal to wide audiences, and first class box office returns are expected. Although the film serves as a charming introduction to audiences new to the Bollywood genre, those well studied in the history of Shah Rukh Khan movies will be most rewarded, since the screenplay (Yunus Sajawal) and songs (Vishal- Shekhar) make dozens of references to his earlier films. The story follows Rahul as he grudgingly agrees to scatter his late grandfather's ashes in the waters off Rameshwaram, a pilgrimage site at the farthest corner of southeastern Tamil Nadu. He boards a train at Mumbai, fully intending to detour to Goa instead with his bachelor buddies, but a series of mishaps finds him entangled with a beautiful woman sitting next to him, Meena (Padukone), who is on the run from an arranged marriage to Tangaballi, a brute in her home village (played by the striking Nikitin Dheer, 6'4' but shot to appear seven feet tall). Khan and Padukone, reuniting after the memorable 2007 romance Om Shanti Om, are beautifully paired despite a 20-year age difference, while Khan's gift for effortlessly moving between comedy and love scenes is complemented by Padukone's striking beauty and comic chops. Rohit Shetty, the director of Singham and the Golmaal comedy trilogy, confidently packs this two-and-a-half-hour film with enough laughs to keep the pace brisk, but for a couple of interminable fight scenes, a staple of the genre. The trend of South Indian films being remade in Hindi, such as Ghajini, Wanted, Policegiri, Bodyguard, Force and others, has opened up a new appreciation in Bollywood for the relatively more garish, colorful, noisy style from down South — complete with slow-motion explosions and comical scenes punctuated by (superfluous) sound effects. But at the same time as audiences are warming to their cinematic style, some viewers in Tamil Nadu have complained that Chennai Express mocks South Indians. Although Padukone, who was raised in Bangalore, has come out in defense of the film's characterization of South Indians, and the closing credits feature a song honoring Tamil superstar Rajnikanth, Tamils are protesting Shetty's depiction of their culture, saying it demeans South Indians; they also criticize Padukone's on-again-off-again Tamil-accented Hindi. Perhaps the best approach is suggested by one Indian commentator debating the topic on a popular film site: "This film is for having fun only."
Hasee Toh Phasee (2014)
Hasee Toh Phasee Review : A Hilarious family entertainer!
I will review thing in this film in paragraphs
Acting: Parineeti's performance in this film is top-notch and the best in all her films so far. Siddarth's performance was great, but he was better in Student Of The Year.
Direction: Vinil Matthew is a TV-ad-director-to-film-director with splendid direction in Hasee Toh Phasee.
The film it self: With a deluxe second half, the film smashes all the successful film critera. You will 100% laugh in most scene, because some are romantic.
So,in summary, Hasee Toh Phasee is a clean, funny family movie with amazing acting (especially Parineeti's),superb direction and story and give Hasee Toh Phasee 9.2/10. So in complete sumary,BUY THE DVD OR BLU- RAY AND WATCH IT!!!!!! or if you can't find it ,I found it on YouTube (if you can't found it, here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANo0Su92YIw) copy the address into another tab.(Watch hasee toh phasee now!
Krrish 3 (2013)
7 years of waiting and this is what i get!
In 2006,I loved Krrish but now after waiting seven years for Krrish 3 I will not be looking forward to Krrish 4. 3 reason why krrish three is so bad.
1)Music. It's music is not good for your ears and the lyrics fails to connect to the film's plot (like any bollywood soundtrack does,it connects to it's plot.)
2) Too predictable. I didn't try to ,but it turned out I predicted the whole film. I wasted £15 just to predict a 2 and a half hour movie. NOT!
3 (finally) ) Priyanka's role size. It is just tiny. She only appears in like 7 scenes.
i give it it 3 stars for the VFX,kangara's and vivek's performance.
