Ambulance (2022)
Great chase but ....terrible by his standards
If it was half as long it might of remained interesting. Jake G plays a career criminal who seems to have the brains of a goat. An actual goat, not the GOAT that he is meant to be. So many holes in the plot it's laughable from the start. If you want a great heist movie watch Heat instead, if you want a ridiculous chase movie watch Gone in 60 seconds or any Fast and Furious movie. If you want to see the stupidest career criminal on the planet watch this. If you want to see multiple lives saved by a medic in the most unbelievable way also watch this. Great idea, bad movie, great chase, but tooooo long.
Tin Star (2017)
Tin star 3 Liverpool plot is appalling
Tin star 1 was 10/10
Tin Star 2 was 7/10
Tin star 3 is 2/10, more holes in the plot than bullet holes in the wall. Once you're over the fact it's in Liverpool UK and how great that is, it goes totally downhill.
Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite (2020)
We left the cinema after 1 hour kids bored us aslepp
Probably the worst film I've seen this decade. Poor plot, no humour, kids 6 and 3 thoroughly bored and underwhelmed , my wife and I falling asleep. How did this make it to the cinema? Trust me it's terrible!
Kidnapping Stella (2019)
Okay movie but watch the original and better 2009 film
Netflix Movie was okay but not a scratch on 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' Brit film from 2009. Kidnapping Stella is inferior in almost every way, lesser actors, not as good a screenplay, inferior script, almost identical story. You can watch it on Amazon Prime too! Check out the IMDB rating and watch the original is my advice.
Only God Forgives (2013)
When you have to read further to fill in the story and plot....
When you have to read further to fill in the huge blanks in the story and the plot it really does not bode well. I watched this movie as I enjoy Ryan Gosling movies and Manga / action / gangster movies. If this was a comic book you would be looking for the missing pages. There are no clever twists, just nice cinematography, the story has large holes, the dream sequences are confusing as they are not clear. I read a very detailed review before I understood the whole symbolism of the dream scenes but I would of preferred the movie to do this for the viewer! If I'd of read the reviews first and then watched the movie unusually it would of actually been more rewarding. For instance at no point was it made clear that the Angel of Death was a retired policeman, I actually thought he was another gangster or an ex Thai fighter during the movie, or a Police detective?? I was expecting a clever twist like for instance that his brother hadn't really killed the prostitute and it was a rival gang looking to push them out of business. I thought that the movie might of been based upon a superior comic book story that might explain things better but I haven't found the comic yet. If I do I'll let you know as I'm sure it will be more enjoyable experience reading than the movie was watching.
