Army of the Dead (2021)
Snyder's worst film
I don't often write reviews but after seeing that this film has a current score of 6.8 I feel compelled to write one.
If you're thinking of watching this. Don't. Save yourself the 2.5hours and rewatch Dawn of The Dead instead or a number of other zombie films. If you're looking for quirky zombie films, Rewatch Zombieland instead! Honestly do not bother watching this film. The plot and script are the worst I've seen in a very long time. I'm actually amazed some of these actors agreed to be in it!
An Idiot Abroad (2010)
Best show ever! Pure comedy!
Have come back to this series time and time again and never fails to make me laugh whenever I'm in a bad mood! Pure and true comedy at its best!
Ggeutggaji ganda (2014)
Would be a great film if it weren't for some completely unnecessary unrealistic plot holes/story decisions
Would be a great film if it weren't for some completely unrealistic plot holes/story decisions which were unnecessary. Namely theres a scene when a tiny kids toy pulls an entire dead mans body weight through a vent then literally the next scene shows how much a grown human man was struggling to carry it. Also a scene where an entire van blows up with a man in it, the van flips over a few times and into a lake but we see that man walk out barely unscathed in the next scene. Both these parts of the story just made the film feel more cheap and weren't necessary to the plot at all so its a shame that these scenes were hard to get passed and made the film just feel cheap
Repo Men (2010)
Great concept, Bad execution! Redeems itself in last half an hour
This film has been on my watchlist for years since it's release as I found the concept really interesting. Even though it doesn't have a great score and reviews weren't the best I finally thought I'd give it a try and was really disappointed up until the last 30mins. I felt like this is one of those films where you'd love to wish for the time you spent on it back and was thinking of giving up on it halfway through as I couldn't deal with the terrible script/Jude Law's acting/The lack of any character development where its needed. The biggest problem with the film is that it can't decide what kind of movie it wanted to be- A dark comedy, A futuristic narrated dystopian thought provoking story about morals or just a standard action film. The theme and angle seemed to change every 30mins and not in a good way. The Script and acting was terrible, especially from the main character. If you're watching this and ready to turn off, I'd say try and stick it out until the last half an hour for the ending and also an impressive action scene which redeems the movie slightly
The House (2017)
Pleasantly surprised! Wont win any awards but still funny and worth a watch
After finding out that 2 of my favourite actors/actresses were the main characters for this movie I was so hyped for it originally until I saw most of the reviews. This has been on my watch list for a while and I finally got round to watching it expecting it to be abysmal but I was pleasantly surprised. Its a silly comedy film and won't win any awards for the plot or realism but I found myself laughing out loud at some of the scenes more than I expected to. As a huge fan of Will Ferrells films I would say its not quite the same level as Anchorman, Step Brothers or Talladega Nights but it's still hilarious in parts and worth a watch. I'd recommend this if you love gangster movies and also like a good comedy movie . I personally love gangster movies and these are 2 of my favourite comedy actors so this movie was perfect for me. Don't be put off by the reviews, it's still worth a watch!
Escobar: Paradise Lost (2014)
First hour isn't great but redeems itself in the 2nd part...Give it a chance!
After watching the first hour I couldn't help feeling that the film felt a little bit rushed- you didn't really get to know the characters or understand their relationships. You didn't feel any strong connections between them for example between Nick and his brother (It's not even made obvious that they are actually brothers until later than it should have been pointed out in the film. The script just felt weak and rushed and even the acting felt quite poor.
That is, until around halfway through the film when this all changes when the real "action" takes place. You can see why Josh Hutcherson was cast in this role (after his roles in the Hunger Games). Benicio Del Toro looked the part however I thought he'd portray the character as more menacing and dangerous, to the point where you could feel just how powerful the character was when he walked into the room (See Wagner Moura's version from Narcos) You do end up feeling part of this gripping action thriller eventually. The tense action scenes are brilliant and you are definitely rewarded for sticking it out and continuing to watch after the first part.
After seeing the trailer for this film, I couldn't wait to see it. The premise sounded great, a love story based around the worlds most notorious drug lord and the impact he had on the couple. Before watching the film, I'd seen IMDb's rating of it was a lot lower than what I expected it to be so I wasn't expecting to be blown away and I definitely wasn't in the first half. In the end I'm glad I stuck it out as I was pleasantly surprised by the 2nd hour. Not the greatest of films and a lot could have been done better but definitely worth a watch!
