The Pentagon Wars (1998)
Fun, entertaining, completely fake
I loved this movie for years and I still find it entertaining and there are sparks of truth in it. However after a bit of research on the Bradley I learned that our protagonist IRL is not a naive young good willed officer but a radical anti-tech weirdo member of a strange US Army sect called Reformers.
Like most vehicles in early development the Bradley had issues but the design concept was innovative and completely misrepresented in the movie. The IFV was a revolutionaly concept, literally, it was taken from the Russian BMP. It was so new many commanders did not know what to do with it.
You may search for Reformers, Bradley, Infantry Fighting Vehicle and even wikipedia will explain in detail.
To be short the Bradley never meant to withstand an anti-tank shell, because it is not a tank. It cannot carry so much troops because it is not an APC.
The movie was made from a book which was written by its protagonist to glorify himself. That is already quite telling.
However the music is catchy, the scenes are funny, some of the beurocracy parts are plausiable, and overall it is well made, but it is well made propaganda mostly telling lies.
One saving factor is that is is satiric, so you can argue that you were not meant to take this seriously, so watch it as a parody of the development of the Bradley.
If you are curious about how well the Bradley performs you may also read about the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. It vastly outclassed its Russian counterparts and even went decently against tanks.
For All Mankind (2019)
Watch it and leave your politics in another room.
Bit edit after season finale:
It was a quality show. Bit too much drama and a little woke, but not anything untolerable or really forced.
The aftercredit scene of the season finale from this show worth more than the entire season of The Mandalorian. For All Mankind born of creative vision, it is film art, not just an extended marketing promotion for stuffed toys.

I watched 7 episode yet, and they are great.
Watching a show because of diversity and representation is just as bad, as not watching it because of diversity and representation.
Judge the product by its quality, instead of your politics.
The intrigue is well plotted and detailed.
The drama hits hard.
The characters are all great. They have flaws and qualities, they are competent, with personal goals and heavy sacrifices.
The sci-fi is subtle, supposedly 70's tech moonbase is intersting to watch growing.
Forcing actual politics and idealogical messages ruined many promising films.
Sabrina Chilling Adventures, Star Trek Discovery, Star Wars The Last Jedi, Captain Marvel, and many others suffered by these, making them sometimes unbearable.
But the message of this show is, to push the envelope every single day, work hard, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
I think what matters, all the messages in the show are positive. It isn't men or white men are evil, patriatrich, subjugators. The astronauts of NASA are professionals, brave explorers, hardened veterans, with their deeply humane flaws and weaknesses, while still being the very best at what they do.
Glorification of explorers, scientist, could feel overly patriotic but it is a good message for me. We need these kind of men. Humanity need this kind of men.
These "men" can be "women" I don't care.
I think this show grabs greatly what the new Star Trek incarnations missed. That being in NASA or starfleet requires strong, intact characters, professionalism, passion for exploration. I don't feel this with New Kirk or Michael Burnham. They are don't feel like any kind of "officers" to me. When Joel Kinnaman's Edward Baldwin says when the rocket is launched its his command, his responsibility, his mission, I feel thats the Captain I want in the chair. He is a strong determind leader, professional astronaut, and he makes a lot of sacrifices in his personal life to achieve these. Also his wife tries her best to keep their family together, and thats also great. She has no job or career but that not makes her inferior, her place in the family is important, and what she does is hard work.
I will be sad if the bad initial impact ruins this show. I guess it will be either get canceled or radically chagned, and both are bad. This is a quality hard sci-fi drama, and should not be pushed into other directions by studio need and expectations or internet whining.
So watch it, enjoy it, think about it.
The Mandalorian (2019)
Well, after episode 1, not great, not terrible
Western? Check.
Standard issue mexican border village is from a Fistful of Dollars.
Why they had to ride the Warhammer Fantasy squig?
We never know, Old guy was just in funny mood. Ship could had aproach that location on low altitude undetected easily.
Also bounty hunter was said be best in a parsec (which with Star Wars hyperspace basicly means "in this street" as a parsec is about 3 lightyears and Star Wars ships are about a 1000 times faster than Star Trek vessels) in a mood he is a professional. Yet he lacks a speeder bike on his not too small ship.
Also he was so professional, he didn't hear a rusty door opening right behind him, or two rhino sized meatball aproaching him.
Couldn't that helmet have a zoom function, or any at all? It so just a shiny hat, without reason. Not taking off (what if he sneeze? or hungry? or want to give his girlfriend a good lick time?) is really overacted fansrvice. At the point of the girldalorian I felt it was written by a 10 year old, ALSO her helmet were so greek it lost the mandalorian starwars design feeling.
Mentioning "fuel" is a PTSD cause in me.
The Warhammer 40000 eldar guardian scatterlaser anti-grav platform were a good stuff, I liked it. Hope he keeps it, might be useful later. As the village is most likely massacred entirely, he could look for a speeder they had, he might need that too.
A 1000 of those droid could conquer planets, just saying. It was sturdy, precise, and obidient to its programming. Don't know why First Order or Empire did not use those.
I guessed the droid will be a main character, so I was a bit suprised when it died, but it was coming.
How .bounty hunting guild works? Who they are working for? If any bounty anyone gives off, they should be hunted down as criminals, because in most time, they would doing criminal jobs.
Yoda said in Return of the Jedi he is over 900 years old, and in Empire Strikes Back, he trains jedi for 800 years. Therefor I guess he is a jedi for about the age of 100 AT LEAST. If the species is a toddler at the age of 50, do they have an extremely fast puberty period, or are they evolving into higher stages pokemon style?
If baby will start to speak and spread divine wisdom next time I will cry...
Honestly not too great, nothing special, feels like a fanfic, or roleplaying adventure modul scenario. But it is a decently written one, I liked the mood, sometimes comicly slowing time when nothing special or epic happens, and the backstory fleshbacks were very Rogue One.
Solo had a lot of fanservice, but this show essentially is nothing but fanservice. If that were the intention, does the job.
