Finding Bigfoot (2011)
(Spoiler?) They never find anything
Here's my feeling about this show: they, the members of the cast, will never find anything, because the constraints of programming and putting an interesting show on the air do not permit them to stay in one place, one area, long enough to invest the time necessary to find one.
You cannot find an elusive, people-shy animal by spending only a week in one or two places in a forest. It takes time, sometimes a lot of time and patience, to get even a glimpse of some animals. Their use of unconventional methods to lure a Bigfoot - noisy Girl Scouts, fireworks, and caged animals - haven't worked. Their best witness accounts come from people who've lived and worked in a place, in their home, for years, sometimes a quarter of a century. And that - the day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month - living in one cabin/home in an area where a Bigfoot has been sighted - does not make for good television.
And let's be clear about the most important thing - NOTHING definitive is known about this animal. No living Sasquatch or Bigfoot has ever been found and, living in its natural habitat, studied by scientists. And, no one has ever found the carcass of a dead one.
I am SO disappointed by this series. In the beginning, before I started watching Finding Bigfoot, I believed that the Sasquatch or Bigfoot was a real, yet undiscovered, undocumented animal. I had such big hopes for the show.
Now, after watching the BFRO at work, I think we've all been taken in by the reports of people who see one thing and think it's another. Production schedules for the series will never put them in a place long enough to actually film one.
No more DVR. No more real time watching. There's nothing there and, given the way the BFRO works, I no longer think there ever will be.
