Not the kind of Movie some horror movie fans are expecting
3 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is a True Story..A true story of a Young Couple with a little girl, who's Aunt lived on the Property in her Trailer Van.. Lisa had the sparks of her mothers gift, and also Heidi their little Girl showed signs of the gift too. Her Aunt Joyce was gifted too .. We have three females in the family who moved into their home ..only to find that it had a history.. firstly history with a good side, but unfortunately also a darker side. God think if this TRUE story all your family lived this .. No it wasn't a special effects and fake blood.. slashing and moments of hiding behind a cushion cos u know some monster with a "mask" like Friday 13th..,,

The film was beautifully created with a sense and feel of knowing all .. of this actually Happened.. that 3 females ..all with a gift.. piece by piece, unearthed a part of history which helped so many slaves find the freedom and liberty of a new start in life.. that itself is a story, Just as the story where a Man who Once Was Captain of a Ship that brought people across the ocean to become slaves and treated as animals..He had a kind of vision, and so quick he felt and realised what a monster he was ..these were human beings from a far away land from America..filled with a sense of heavy guilt he turned his life around and from that moment on he did all he could to at least try give something good back, and lived the rest of his days helping the slaves to set them free. He wrote a Poem and it started with the words Amazing Grace... Thats where the Christian hymn adapted that poem to become one of the most famous hymns of all time..

So that piece of history this filmed showed ..maybe someone will find inspiration to want to direct a movie all about these underground trains.. Just as the Poem Amazing Grace was made into a movie..

It was a horror, but a mystery and inspired by true events.. So it didn't need anything spectacular or over dramatic.. It was believable, and emotional, spiritual and historic feel too..The Director for me truly achieved to have found the true essence of this true event and created a pretty damn good ..awesome Movie.

Maybe people should create genres of all Horror Films zombie, slasher, paranormal, fantasy, mystery, supernatural etc..

So maybe a lot of people are going to be expecting a good scary horror with knives monsters blood and scares.. this isn't that type of horror movie.. I really enjoyed it ..it was well acted with a very young actress that played an excellent Heidi, and the storyline had a good sense of you realising it was running a longer course with every new discovery.. I gave it an 8/10

Haunt (2013)

A movie which lacked so much potential..
22 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Almost a slight taste of Amityville Horror 2:The possession.. feeling.. Like the atmosphere of the room, how it came across that something wasn't right...but the movie never continued and the intensity and foreboding evil essence..if they had focused on that angle and fuelled it by the attic that had a small door and behind that door was some hidden rooms , that held the center of the movie, instead the attic seemed fine and OK the sleep in but the little door became the focus of the storyline, and not even the little room was giving a history about it, and the what i would call The Spirit Phone used to call the 'other side' ...also gave us no history of meaning, Yhe movie failed in parts which unfortunately shrouded the film as vague and ungiving ..where if the writers gave us a bit more depth, on keeping the attic a room that made u feel uncomfortable ,,and the strange little door ..that behind was a small little room, with a dark cold place that gave us a sense of fear, as parts of its past and what went on in there, and was it that way only because of some strange box.. a telephone to the other side, and told us why it was made, invented for a specific purpose ,,and by whom,,..the box lacked,,a what should have shown a invention of an evil machine that attracts only bad things... The actors were all good, the basic storyline was fresh and could have become a movie compared to the Amityville 2 to even challenge it.. I gave it a 6/10 rating

A Young Couple Fight For Survival trapped in underground cavern
9 March 2014
The Underneath, in general, storyline was interesting, different, but somehow almost identical in certain aspects. Actor's both played strong and believable, although i kept thinking i was watchin some prequel of the British Horror Movie 'The Descent'2005. called something like: The Descent: The Beginning- 'When Honeymoons Go Bad!! 2014

As above when i mentioned the Actor's it was not their fault that the script they were given, spoiled their chance to show their true potential. It lacked atmosphere and characters showed watch should have been, the viewers reaction immersed into the fear, terror, and suspense, the movie had captured..And instead turning into a film where, you have a lot of sudden moments throughout this movie and end up in moments where your, scratching your head thinking " Eh? That last shot, showed the couple the first good look and a full frontal lit up vision 3 feet from their nose .. what the unknown creature looked like, Yes they looked a little shocked and ran into small tunnel, to safety .. to which , for me , Id be saying "What... The..... HELL!! Was That!!????? .. but neither showed what should have been overwhelming reaction of terror that a human, who just experienced an up close and personal look into the face of what in one scene earlier in the film wife looking at her husband with a look of a disturbing ominous 6th sense and realising something was very wrong down in this cavern and almost in a whisper say to him "SOMETHING IS DOWN HERE , WE ARE NOT ALONE!! " The effects throughout this movie, created a good quality, and a truly believable environment, creature creations able to scare the average person. I rated a 5 because the only thing that had dampened the feel of the movie was the lack of passion and actual human behaviour of typical psychological reactions, if anyone had been placed and plunged into an environment to what us viewers saw for ourselves .. if I had been a victim of those circumstances i don't think i would effectively be in full logical state of mind, and showing my layed back approach ..of " Oh not again, yawn" mental state... excellent movie with lack of emotion and psychological atmosphere created from actors performance. So blame the script writer.. ..

In Fear (I) (2013)

In Fear, the movie as a whole
6 March 2014
I pressed play and the movie began, it seemed a simply beginning where the scenario was a boy wishing to take a female friend to a festival.. I was excited as it started to roll along that the storyline was totally On its own, when the viewer got a feel of the one of many stereotypical themes that exist in Horror Genre It was different New, Fresh, and i was thinking " This movie is probably going to be the substance of depth, atmosphere, and a story written by some passionate, writer, that had a moment of passion and self belief and take the viewer into unknown territory in this Horror/Thriller.. It wasn't long before i started to notice the two main characters, although good actors, considering the developing situation lacked emotional expression, and passion. The scenario began to annoy me.. and where in certain given circumstances that something was seriously wrong...both characters showed little or no believable reaction, or which any average person would show.. Maybe at one point when they seemed a marked change in behaviour of the boy.. it only resulted me into being more confused because his facial expressions were giving off the sense of guilt Anyway... what could have been a good quality thriller with atmosphere and suspense be something of substance that attained that subconscious effect upon each viewer who fall into the whole plot, and psychologically influencing someone to readily open the door to their inner mind and expose it to the unknown.
