A Deadly Adoption (2015 TV Movie)
2/10
Worst Lifetime movie
21 June 2015
Will Ferrell is simply awful in this dramatic role as a father. Kristen Wig is only a little better.

I know it is a Lifetime movie and we expect less because the plots are predictable, the acting less than stellar but we usually adjust because we know the actors aren't A listers.

Will Ferrell is great as a comedic actor and one of his best movies was "Elf". He should stick w/comedy or procure A LOT of acting lessons as a dramatic actor.

His performance in this movie was stilted, awkward and unbelievable. It was painful to watch.

Old Fashioned (2014)

Fifty Shades of Refreshing
17 February 2015
I viewed the indie film "Old Fashioned" for 10 or 15 minutes and was initially thinking how campy it was. The good looking male lead admits that he never is in a room alone with a woman. She is interested in renting out his empty apartment & as she goes inside to view it he stands outside. She is amused but also thinking, "are we in the 1900's or what? But give it more time and this film rolls out a beautiful sentiment about dating. The rules for men and women we now may view as oppressive really were there to protect both men and women.

Clay and Amber have an almost immediate attraction to each other but Clay's old fashioned ideas of never being alone with the opposite sex, never kissing a woman before he is betrothed to her, respecting her mind as much as her body, etc, seem noble and attractive but he also takes it too far, using some of his stand offish behavior to mask his shame about his past brutish ways.

If you want to see love treated with respect, tenderness, care and patience, this is the movie for you. If you don't, see "Fifty Shades of Grey".
