really liked it

Warning: Spoilers
I found the movie very endearing and yeah they had great chemistry together.

A few weak points for feedback

  • it jumps so quickly from the night they met to them now? But we are not sure how long it's been since the night. Days? Weeks? Some time has passed because they have both been talking about each other to their friends and family just would have been nice if they explained how long it's been for context
  • I felt the opening part could have been stretched out a little to really show more chemistry or perhaps it was and the scenes were cut because it shows nearly full beers in one shot the next shot they are nearly empty
  • the plot points of no signal and the text messages not being delivered were a little weak. The undeliverable messages could have easily been explained by saying he wenr to a remote location such as an island

also I thought the friend being overly rude to iris was a bit much

apart from that it's a nice movie and a very simple relationship between them you can feel the love and apart from the secrets they are not complicated together

I really like the ending they told hands again and the movie closes with that. Very nice.

Wish I could give it negative infinity
14 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Just like all the other reviews this was terrible. Over dramatised, iinaccurate plot lines for added frama but as an aviation enthusiast totally laughable. Joe the pilot kept talking about altitude in the thousands but normally I would have thought it would be ascent to flight level 100 etc

And hey let's turn on the autopilot back on without first checking what the autopilot is set at good idea from an apparent pilot trying to help

And yes black clouds and storm one second and next second clear blue skies. At one point it looked like they were at about 300 feet next minute they said they are at 11000

there was one cut scene from in the plane to outside showing it from the outside and it looked like footage from a flight Sim! I kept thinking it was about to cut do flight Sim girl showing her on her flight Sim but no it was meant to be real!

And the negativity off the bat from atc oh he can't land that plan it's impossible so im not even going to try and I'm giving up let him crash

I could go on but this movie doesn't deserve my time one of the worst movies I've ever seen!

Great but glossed over the invention of the jet engine
23 July 2016
Really liked it. Found out a lot I didn't know about the history of Boeing but one thing I didn't like is that glossed over the jet engine invention in that it didn't even really mention it being invented or drop frank whittles name

They spent a lot of time on WW2 and the B29 and then jumped straight to how they discovered a swept wing design which could handle jet powered aircraft but wait.. you didn't even acknowledge the jet engine or frank whittle or it being invented and how much it was about to change aviation..

It should have had a least 1 chapter about this.. other than that really good and didn't talk about Boeing merging with McDonnell Douglas either and you expect since it's made by Boeing it also glossed over other manufacturers that were in the business like Fokker, Douglas, etc

The movie is a cliché from start to end
6 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Warning This contains spoilers:

This movie was cheese from beginning to end.

You know when you see those specials about Rules for Disaster Movies and how they all follow certain rules..

I think this one followed every rule in the book.

Characters were one dimensional, they were clichéd - You have someone who is afraid of small spaces and they are going to have to face their fear to survive.

You have the single mom and her son which is a pain in the a$$ kid who goes missing - twice

You have the one that ones to be the leader of the group who funnily enough at the start wants to go it alone

You have the father / daughter where the father doesn't trust the daughter and the daughter is trying to be her own woman and in the end the father ends up giving his life up so her daughter can be happy and be with her new fiancé - Where have I seen this before?? Oh thats right - Armageddon.

You have the annoying drunk which ends you are supposed to hate so they die so that seems like a just death.

Anyways, so the characters are clichéd and so are the circumstances, this movie could have been better if it had more special effects but it only have a small wave.

I thought this kind of movie which was clichéd went out in the 70's and 80's, at least disaster movies these days if they follow the clichés do it subtlety, and it also has good special effects to help keep it afloat, this movie was so obvious in its clichés.

Also did I miss something - as where did they get the lifeboat and flare gun from in the end?

Also some more convenient circumstances - 1) guy goes down to reverse the engines so they can all live and cant find the button is just about to die and with his last dying breath finds and presses the button

2) they all escape the ship just as it goes down

3) two helicopters appear moments after firing off a flare gun

and hows some of the dialogue.. I think it was Richard Dreyfuss who says I'm an architect so I know ships aren't designed to stay afloat upside down.. Since when does it require to be an architect to work this out??

This movie was a shame and feels like it jumped right out of the 70's disaster era. This is one of the worst movies I have seen
