Survival of the Dead (2009)
lacking...
I'll start this review off by mentioning the redeeming quality in this movie.. the acting. The acting is actually not bad. In fact it probably stopped me from not turning it off and moving on.
I'll try to keep my dislikes short and sweet... here we go. The story didn't make much sense... even after seeing the other movies, it just didn't make sense to me.
I've enjoyed the last decade of zombie movies as I like a zombie that is fast, strong, and unpredictable. A quality George A. Romero seems to dislike. A slow moving zombie never made much sense to me. I get that they would eventually grow to a point where they could overwhelm us but still...fast moving, super strong, unpredictable zombies make much more sense.
Now am I trying to point out some kind of realism to zombies, of course not. But any good movie maker wants to draw you into the movie. All my favorite movies have a bit of realism in them.
Dawn of the Dead (2004) may be the best zombie movie ever made. In my opinion, and remember this is MY opinion, it is hands down the best zombie movie ever made. It made much more sense than most zombie movies before and after its time.
Even the Resident Evil movies are pushing it for me. They're good but not Dawn of the Dead (2004) good.
To close, I would recommend zombie fans to watch this movie. You'll be disgusted but glad you did. It's not TERRIBLE, thanks to the acting, but over-all a flop.
Battlestar Galactica (2004)
One of the best sci fi series to date!
I HAD to write this after reading the review titled "One of the Most Awful Shows on TV". What a load of garbage his review was. It seems like he based it on watching 10 minutes of the first episode of the miniseries or something.
This is by far one of the best sci-fi series on right now. It has great character development, a great mysterious storyline, and so much more. Furthermore, it goes more in depth and gives even the low-key actors a storyline which surprisingly are all starting to tie together.
I cannot wait for season 4, which I believe is the final season, and having all my questions answered.
Watch it and judge for yourself... but watch more than one episode!
Blonde Ambition (2007)
good film, no matter what they say...
I'm sorry but this movie is not as bad as most people are making it out to be. It has an excellent cast, and it's a nice little story. The story isn't a very uncommon story, though, still good. Jessica Simpson is actually an OK actress and many of her goofy scenes actually put a smile on my face.
Also, as mentioned, it was a great cast. Luke Wilson, Andy Dick, Rachel Liegh Cook, Larry Miller... jeez I could keep going.
But don't read what all the people here are saying. If you look around IMDb you'll see that it's usually the same people over and over who are constantly dissing movies.
Watch and judge for yourself!!!!!!!
Ghost Whisperer (2005)
I like it....
OK so I just got into the show recently. Season 2 recently that is and I hope to see season 1 soon...I'm not sure if it's out on DVD yet. The show, I feel, is very very well done. I can sense a bit of "Hollywood" in it but overall it's a great show, awesome acting and stories. I like the stories that don't really involve the main character as much. I like to see her helping them cross over. I just finished Season 2 Episode 3 and I cried at the end (by the way I'm a guy who doesn't cry). So I know I'll be interested to see where the show goes from here. The episode I spoke of, above, that involved her was 2x02 and I don't know it didn't strike me as hard. I liked the guy who wanted his collectibles to go to the right people but the other story... I just couldn't get with.
I still give the show a 10 though.
