Pretty good until....
26 March 2017
Pretty good plot to start with but I became quickly disappointed when the writer or writers went way overboard which is sometimes typical in these type of movies. They suddenly ended up portraying Christianity as some sorta cult. If the intent was to introduce an possibly convert others to their beliefs I think they may have only succeeded in losing a few.

Her Infidelity (2015 TV Movie)
Simply horrible....
28 February 2015
Even by LMN standards this movie was a complete disaster! Every aspect of it was amateurish especially the script. There were so many plot holes, one has to imagine that a lot of film was left on the editing room floor. As far as the plot, it's your typical storyline of a wife who suspects her husband of cheating so she cheats herself. The only problem though is the script is written so badly that nothing in the entire movie makes any sense. The acting was some of the worst I've ever seen. Everyone involved in making this movie must have been embarrassed with the finished product. It's had to believe that after viewing this that LMN allowed it to be air rather that tossing it in the trash can.

Mistletoe Over Manhattan (2011 TV Movie)

Had potential but....
19 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This story about a family in the middle of divorced during the Christmas season had great potential to be a very heartfelt drama with a predictable feel good ending. However, it was ruined by the over characterization by the writers of the wife as a near despicable person. So much so that it was difficult to hope for that feel good ending.

Although it's obvious she still has feelings for her soon to be ex husband, she dates her boss who displays many of the issues she had with her husband. You begin to wonder what she sees in him other than his good looks and wealth. He was even on Santa's naughty list a record number of times. Add to that the fact that she herself treats her family just as she complained her husband once did.

It comes down to deciding whether to follow her heart or the money. She gives every indication of following the money much to the consternation of her children who's happiness she is willing to sacrifice for the sake of a new job and romantic involvement with her wealthy boss.

As the story evolves, the choices she makes become so self serving that its a struggle hoping that she and her soon to be ex ever get back together. It was the only movie I've ever seen where I almost wished the Claus's failed in bringing a merry Christmas to a couple in need.

Way below expectations
30 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A separated couple who's children try desperately to get them back together. The wife turns out to be an insensitive and selfish woman who's willing to sacrifice her marriage and relationship with her children over her desire to chase her dreams in the business world. She repeatedly resists the attempts by her kids and husband to reconcile while being seemingly oblivious to the attempts by her boss to win her affection.

There is nothing "Christmas" about this movie other than it happens to be that time of year. The script is uneven and the acting is so-so. I don't blame the actors at all since they seemed to do the best they could with what they had to work with.

For uplifting entertainment, it fell way short. Except for a few humorous scenes, it felt more like a drama. The ending was obviously hurried and left me wondering what had just happened and why. I rated it low because of the poor script and it failed to meet the expectations advertised.

Moonlight & Mistletoe (2008 TV Movie)

An okay movie but nothing to rave about
8 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Candace Cameron Bure is Holly a business woman who is wrapped up in her own world. She begrudgingly returns home to help her injured father. She's at first condescending and unsympathetic towards her father, Nick played by Tom Arnold, along with treating Peter, her fathers helper, like he's beneath her. She's soon smitten over a like businessman whom she meets through an old high school friend. Knowing nothing about the guy, she's drawn into a deal she believes will help save her father's failing business. For a businesswoman, she's naive in letting his good looks and her attraction to him overshadow her good sense. Without reading the contract herself, she just takes the businessman's word for it and introduces him to her father suggesting he will save his business. The opposite is true however in that the contract may actually force her father to lose his business. It's then up to her and Peter to undo the damage done.

Being a hallmark movie, there is a love interest, misunderstandings and of course a happy ending. A family friendly movie.

Betrayed (2014 TV Movie)

Extremely awful ....
18 August 2014
Seems like the script was something an amateur would write. The characters where poorly developed. There were too many unexplained scenes. One scene was needlessly repeated. The choice of the actor who played Trent was an obvious mistake from the very beginning. There was absolutely no chemistry between Trent and Julie. Because of the poor choice in casting and lack of chemistry, his character was immediately unlikeable. The premise of the story was indeed interesting however poorly executed. Too bad. It could have been much better as a thriller if more effort had been put into the script, choice of cast, direction and editing. For that reason, I can't bring myself to rate it anything more than 3. I would have been tempted to rate it lower if not for the actress who played Julie; who in fact did a pretty good job considering that her character wasn't likable either and what she had to work with.

Simply about the sanctity of marriage
29 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is simply about the sanctity of marriage although the script and direction make it hard to follow, especially with the excessive religious overtones, flashbacks and side stories. A cheating wife married to a doctor has an affair with another doctor. After about a year into their affair, they decide to leave their spouses for each other. Before the wife can tell her husband she's leaving him, he has an accident and dies. The wife shows no emotion over the event although confused about what she wants to do next. The husband's body disappears and it becomes increasingly evident that he's alive. The wife is suspicious, confused, worried....almost going through the whole spectrum of emotions throughout the movie. Realizing her husband is in fact alive or somehow miraculously risen from the dead, she is confronted by him. She continues her affair while seemingly looking for answers as does her husband who has several serious physical reactions to his wife's thoughts, words and interaction with her lover. Finally after completing a promise she made during an overly religious vision she had at the start of her affair with the doctor, her husband is miraculously healed and she realizes that she truly loves her husband and no longer wants to leave him. I rated this low simply because the script and director made it so difficult to follow the story and see it for what it was.

When Sparks Fly (2014 TV Movie)

Not good at all
29 June 2014
I am usually a fan of these types of movies but this one was not very entertaining to watch. It was almost as if they made it up as they filmed. Not much made sense and was really a stretch almost to the point of unbelievability. For instance, he loves his girlfriend and wants to marry her. He is about to propose with an engagement ring in his hand and says nothing when she says she's going to Chicago even though she says she still wants to stay together. Seven years later she doesn't seem to care much for the city, her job, or her new boyfriend and doesn't make any changes on her own? Her best friend is dating her old boyfriend and is now engaged to him but not many back home seem to know even though it's a small town? Not even her parents? How it ended was really a stretch too. I could go on but it would be a waste of time and I already wasted enough of it watching this movie. Too bad because it was a pretty good premise but ruined by whoever wrote this script. I wish it had been better. Hopefully, sometime down the road, they'll use the same basic idea for a movie and hire better writers.
