Great Kids Movie

I remembered this from when I was a kid and just revisited.

A lot of fun. I think it's a great movie.

They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Has a little bit of everything.

Recommended.

Fantastic episode. Fantastic series.

Now I'm upset because I was so used to being furious at Disney, Jar Jar and Kennedy.

Not a ton of shows that I can't wait until the next episode. This is one.

After Breaking Bad I had already imagined that Jesse escaped and made his way to a life happily-ever-after in Alaska.

Pretty much what was delivered here.

It was okay (a bit boring) but just an excuse to deliver something to Netflix that they knew would get a billion eyeballs.

Was nice to see some of the old characters again.

The Hustle (I) (2019)

I knew it was a reboot but Jeeze Louise it's almost a complete scene for scene rip.

All I could do to find humour in it was to remember the corresponding scenes with Michael Cain and Steve Martin (Ruprecht, etc).

Gonna have to watch it now to get The Hustle out of my brain.

So bad.

Wanted to give it a fair shot.

I really tried.

Felt so forced and fake from the beginning.

The dialogue was as if actors were simply reading single sentences back and forth to each other.

One of the worse things is they tried to cram 8 years of character development into the first episode.

Zero magic here like the original (and only) Magnum, P.I.

Hard pass on these rebooted classic TV series. Horrible.

Is there no one at DISNEY that was involved in this mess that were Start Wars fans growing up?

What a complete and utter farce Star Wars has become.

Such a bloody shame.

Fan since I had action figures at 7 years old when I saw Star Wars.

Disney has dealt a fatal blow to the franchise.

Poor Lucas. He should have been able to tell us the last 3 of his stories. I'm sure our heroes would have stayed heroes.

Feel bad for Mark Hamill... "Laser sword" my butt.

Star Trek has never been about war.

I'm lost here how any Trekkies can be that happy.

The timeline, as others have noted, is bizarre.

How can this be before Kirk and Spock? I dunno.

Was never a super fan of Star Trek.

Liked TNG and the movies with Kirk and Spock in the 80s.

As stand alone it is okay and somewhat entertaining but it isn't really true to the universe though.

Maybe I'm wrong. Rating seems to indicate enough people overlook these things.

They may not be lifelong fans though.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

Gross, vulgar, immature and so predictable at the same time.

I'm embarrassed when I think of the actors that even participated.

Worse part? People liked it. OMG I fear for the West. Scratch that. I fear for humanity that anyone found this movie even remotely funny... :P

The Walking Dead: The Day Will Come When You Won't Be (2016) Season 7, Episode 1

Brutal

Just catching up with The Walking Dead.

I notice the (non-walker) violence escalating through last season and a half.

I guess starting with Terminus.

This episode took it to the next level and really turned me off.

Killing main characters is okay. The ULTRA violent way they did it in this episode was really unacceptable to me.

Beloved characters offed in this fashion? They certainly crossed a line as far as I'm concerned.

Example: Kinda like when a loved one or friend dies. Many don't want to see them in an open casket because they don't want that to be their last memory of the person. Glenn was one of my favourites. The brutality of how they dealt with his death will sully the good memories of his character and will now be what I remember.

If this is how rest of season 7 is I'm giving up the show. Will give it a few more episodes.

Shame too because I want to know what happens to the characters I've grown to care about.

JMHO P.S. Yeah, yeah, this is the Internet. No doubt readers here will think I'm a pansy. Preemptive WHATEVER. :P

Fear the Walking Dead (2015–2023)

I NEVER watched The Walking Dead.

Did start watching this show.

It's pretty bad and I gave up half way through season 2.

As an experiment I am currently watching The Walking Dead. I actually really like it.

Gotta come down to the characters. I care about what happens to them.

Fear the Walking Dead? Couldn't care less about them.

I believe ratings on IMDb are skewed somehow now too. No way this show rates so high. Remember when there was a discussion board. Pretty much nobody liked this show. Now miraculously it's rated 7.1?

The Americans (2013–2018)

Gotten boring

Long in the tooth and boring now that it's hit Season 6.

Enjoyed it for quite a while.

Story seems to have stalled.

Want to recommend early Seasons but now that the series is dragging... not sure.

Anyways, I'm behind 3 episodes so gonna keep giving this season a chance.

Just getting more and more disappointed in what started as a great show becoming increasingly boring.

I guess that traditional values were horrible?

People just 'thought' they were happy?

That self-gratification, pleasure, infidelity, sex, sleeping around with multiple people and kids losing their virginity, and not waiting, is what makes people happy?

Only neat thing was addressing the 'colored' people problem of the past. Neat how they did that. Although they couldn't resist making the white kids seem real horrible.

All in all, I think this whole thing was just a bash on traditional values. Values my grandparents, by the way, respected and look back on fondly.

Guess the smutty world we live in now is so much better. Thanks for teaching me this Hollywood.

I'll let my wife know she's not really happy being a stay-at-home mom and that really she should be looking to branch out and have an affair to really feel alive.

Star Trek Beyond (2016)

Pretty Bad Story

Interactions with the old 'gang' was pretty good. Saved it a bit.

Noticed the crew of the Enterprise don't act very professional anymore. 'Captain' is now Jim. They're all kinda too chummy chummy.

Also Spock is no longer the Spock I've known since I was a kid. Too much 'human' side. Nimoy's Spock never showed as much emotion in 50 years as the character as current Spock has in these last 3 movies.

Like this show.

Delroy Lindo is amazing. Love him. His acting and character.

Ditto Cush Jumbo as Luca. Love the character. Gorgeous too.

Beef is ridiculous progressive writing (of course). Worse than ever.

Not even fictional 'evil' right-wing Prezzy anymore. Go full tilt bogey anti-Trump.

Even smearing like mentioning '3am drunk Tweets' while everyone in the world, save some small villages in India, know Trump doesn't drink. Doesn't stop these writers at CBS though.

Getting harder to overlook Hollywood liberal writing. If you still can (though The Good Fight is the worst I've ever seen) it's a good show.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)

C'Mon. Are you kidding me? (SPOILERS)

Have never written a review before. Feel compelled.

The fact that it was a rehash/reboot, or rather a "Greatest Hits" type movie is bad enough.

What's worse is the treatment of our HEROES.

Luke is hiding and sulking in some part of the galaxy (not even in the movie save for 30 seconds). Thanks Disney.

While Han Solo has become some deadbeat dad, failed husband, who has abandoned the good fight and just crawled back to being a smuggler.

He redeems himself somewhat only to be killed in a totally worthless way.

Princess Leia is basically rendered into nothing as well.

Very disappointed with A Force Awakens. Far too many problems to post here and MANY have already expressed them anyway.
