What was that???
1 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I really waited for this movie. Spielberg and Hanks. A guarantee for a real fun and quality. And after I saw the film I was disappointed. What is this movie? What's the plot? Who are the characters? I really don't know. Just one word: TERRIBLE! An airport? Help for workers? Everybody loves the stranger? Very common and very American.:-(((A romance with a stewardess? (actually, Catherine is a very bad actress). I just watched the film and waited for something. And nothing has come. Only a boring two hours. I love Spielberg and Hanks but this was a mistake. And I wonder why this movie got 7 or something... The story was very promising but they did their worst. Disappointing and very bad movie.

Astonishing...
31 August 2006
Wow..........It was a simple Friday night when I first saw this strange movie on TV. I planned that I had gone to bed soon that night...BUT...the atmosphere of the film had changed my mind. It was fantastic and awesome. My God, I could not go out for a drink while the movie:-))) The strangest thing was that you could not fall asleep till you found an answer for the film. (Of course, you could not...)There are several questions during the movie not answered. It's your task to answer it. Many opened mysteries. Many legends. Many fears of human beings. Thanks God, I could leave the room after the movie. Fantastic. Astonishing. Unbelievable. "Unleaveble".....

What a great performance...
31 August 2006
What a great performance! I wonder why some people don't like this movie. OK, it's rather silly and unreal(?), but there are several silly movies all around the world especially in the USA. This was made in Europe. It's not an awful German film that was made for awful German teens...It's a French COMEDY(!!!!!) was made for healthy European human beings! (My grandparents were Germans, and I'm Hungarian, so I have opinion about French:-))), so this is NOT a political sentence!) So, don't miss this movie if you'd like to see a really enjoyable comedy. I think, the European style in comedy with Belmondo's acting never dies! It's entertaining and unforgettable. For everybody. Only a few actors can play this role so perfectly like Belmondo does. Don't miss it!

Fantastic acting and plot-in Europe
7 February 2006
I didn't want to see this film for a long time-now it's a misery for me. My wife said that I must see it. Right. One day I saw it. And this is one of my favorite movies since then. There are two outstanding actors in an outstanding plot. The atmosphere of the film is engaging: the little French town at the Riviera, wonderful castles, the sunshine and the sea gives a perfect basic to the movie. Two swindlers try to cheat rich women. Two great actors, two different personalities fight for the women's money-and for your sympathy. Excellent tricks, fantastic lines that you repeat day after day. When I see it, I feel better and better. Don't miss it if you love funny situations, great acting, perfect plot, Europe, tricky story and unexpected twists in a movie.

Real fun, real 70's in Hungary
3 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen this movie first about 10 years ago and it became one of my favorite Hungarian films from the 70's. A high-ranked communist leader comes to a simple family at lake Balaton. Each member of the family hopes that he'll help them in certain things, e.g. in their tourist business or establish a distillery. However, the "great man" has stomach ulcer or something like this and despite of the fantastic Hungarian dishes and wine he can't enjoy himself. Moreover he looks down the simplicity of the rural family though they do everything to make him feel well. In the film we can see great stuffings, drinking and we have an occasion to know the the rural Hungarian life in the 70's. The actors and actresses are really perfect in this comedy but I think mostly Eastern Europeans can understand it completely because of the specific plot. A really great movie, don't miss it!!!

Go for It (1983)

Usual fun
2 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Usual fun from Bud and Terence. That's what I need on boring afternoons. In addition, Go for It has a good scenery and an exciting plot for an Eastern European man who has never been in the sunny Florida-as a secret agent:-)).

So the conversations are great, the characters are funny-as they are in other movies from Bud. I didn't write "they are boring" cause a real Bud Spencer fan can't say anything like this. The wonder of these movies is the simplicity of plot and characters. 8 out of ten among Bud Spencer films. My favorite scenes are the CIA Centre, the plane where they got the money and of course the scene at the pub where they meet first. Somebody had written that this was the last good movie from Hill and Spencer. Well, he's right...
