2016 (2010)
The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
What is life? Life is this film. What is the current in the water that makes our souls and hearts beat and aligns them in sync so perfectly? This film. This film is a depiction of just how glorious and amazing true art can be. Nothing has ever come so close to touching so many before, but now there's this - a mesmerizing, beautiful piece of art, hidden in plain sight. What is film? This is film. This is the result of millennia passing and the worlds aligning to create the perfect consequential outcome that is this film. This is the film that convinced Bush to do 9/11. What is this film? THIS FILM. Where else has such true beauty been present? Nowhere else. But this film (and maybe "Frozen"). It holds true to such classics like The Godfather, Terminator, Goodfellas, Almighty Thor, and, of course, Frozen. The Breaking Bad of movies, this will never get old - until, it does. All good things come to an end (unless it's Breaking BAD... or 2016). This is the centerpiece of the world, what makes it turn and go round every day - alongside ads on the internet and a certain four letter word that starts with P and ends with N. Nothing could ever be so gentle, delicate, or such a beauty as 2016. Why not give it a shot? It'll change your life dramatically. Hey, did you ever see Goodfellas? Thought so. What about 2016? Nope. GO WATCH IT. Why? Because it's better than Chicken freaking Little. How? Because it's Tw-Tw-Twenty-fricken- Sixteen.
Better Call Saul: Nacho (2015)
The Best Episode So Far!
Better Call Saul's first two episodes didn't appeal to some, who claimed it was both boring and slow. Sure, they may have been slow at times, but overall the story was what really made a difference. Every show has a boring moment or two, and Saul's was towards the beginning. But that doesn't matter now, because Episode 3 seems to be pushing the story in a far more exciting direction. Starting off with a flashback - undisclosed when it occurred - we are immediately thrown into Jimmy's world to see some perspective from his eyes. This episode does no wrong. The characters, the writing, the dialog, the camera-work, the acting... If anything, this episode seems as though it could be pulled straight from the books of Breaking Bad. While Saul may have seemed slow when you were watching Episodes 1 and 2, trust anyone when you hear that things just got better... Call Saul.
