Into the Woods (2014)
Whimsical Fun Film. What movies should be.
Warning: Spoiler.
There are a number of reviewers who simply do not realize this movie is an adaptation of a Stephen Sondheim stage play. A number of complaints about the second act, I call it that is because that's what it is. It follows the second act of the play. The movie follows the play. It seems to me the people who disliked the second act and the ending, simply didn't get it. This is Sondheim at his best. The adaptation was spot on. I was afraid that the essence of the play would be lost. It wasn't
This is a whimsical, entertaining, fun film; the likes of which we have not seen in a long time. To all those involved, well done!
My Doggone Destiny (2012)
My Doggone Destiny
The main character battles Murphy's law throughout this fun quirky romp while trying to recover a lost dog. Nothing goes right for our intrepid heroine as she try's to keep a positive attitude no matter what happens to her. The lead actress is quite good in her roll as the unlucky heroine. Her best friend is a hoot on the jogging trail and the nosy "church ladies" will keep you laughing. Don't miss this enjoyable laugh filled comedy, you won't be sorry.
This is Gretchen Dzedzej 's first film as a director and all around filmmaker and I must say that she did a great job. Even though there are some minor technical issues, you will be kept cheering for Sarah to prevail no matter what. Who will win? Mr. Murphy or Sarah?
The Americans in the Bulge (2010)
The story of the Battle of the Bulge from the perspective of the common soldier.
Richard and his team have created a compelling reselling of the Battle of the Bulge.with this outing. You really get a sense of what it was like to be there in December 1944. It is done all in the first person on the actual locations and in December. It is a close-up, gritty, emotional experience. In this time of no heroes, ignorance of history, this is a shining example of what can be done with a little creativity and imagination.
Anyone who does not know about the Battle of the Bulge should see this docudrama as it will answer any questions you might have about the battle as well as bring the story of the common soldier-the grunt, ground pounder, the combat infantryman to life.
Make sure not to pass this one up!
